Not that I'm biased by my local area, but I would say Swindon-Newport (or Cardiff) via both routes would be a game changer. Bristol Temple Meads via Box and Parkway via Hullavington would allow electric and diesel mode 800s, plus layers of turbos and 158s doing local Bath(Westbury)-Bristol and Parkway for Gloucester.

But they do affect the game even if nobody cares - the timetables are dependent on units being available, so there is hard limit on the amount of trains in a class at any one time. That's why the fake 377/1 exists.

Is an extension to Cardiff really too far though? We already have Paddington & Cardiff in the sim so it would be great (and logical) to see the two connected.
TSG never seem to have an issue with longer drivable intercity routes. DTG will always do the minimum unless punters start kicking up a fuss!

Remember that this is an extra-curricular project, and that even an extension to Bristol would be extremely long for a TSW route. The remaster of this route on its own is a great thing, and should be praised and encouraged.

They're all 47/4s though. I think the people who complain would complain less if we got a /0 or /3, which would be more appropriate for freight runs anyway.

    No.
    They'd still complain.
    It's what they enjoy =-)

Hi Liam, One of the suggestions I was going to make was to introduce the Night Riviera to the Great Western route. I’m not sure if this is something that would come under the anniversary pack you are working on, but it would be great to see it in the game, especially as it is such an iconic part of evenings at Paddington. It would also be nice to be able to move from the Reading Depot, and do the empty journey up to Paddington in the evening.

Es4t The route length is roughly 129 miles.
DTG seem to hover around sixties in length, so there’s no chance of them ever considering such a route build. TSG only stick to German content so they wouldn’t do it, that leaves only Rivet (cough) or Just Trains.
I doubt Just Trains will move on from the BR era content anytime soon.

We definitely need more GWR content in the game though, who knows, with the TSW6 core routes we might see something GWR related since DTG re-acquired the license recently.

I asked Liam something similar a few weeks ago, he confirmed that the sleeper would be represented by the JT 47 and Mark IIIs.

Did Liam mention them getting liveries in either unbranded GWR or First Great Western by any chance?

It should be good. I’ve deliberately not played the current DLC for a while so that it feels like a completely brand new one when the remaster comes out.

I don't. I haven't played the Bakerloo Line at all in TSW5 because I'm still waiting for the update for it... That update was mentioned in September... I should play the Bakerloo Line again...

Anyway, I haven't played the GWE route either, and held back from Koln-Aachen until the new timetable was released!

Same here. I've not touched GWE in quite literally years. It's just too 'old-TSW' looking for me.

Liam's remaster should make this route feel like a brand new route. So many things, big and little, have been added with this remaster. The wait will be worth it once it releases.

Will we be able to drive underground stock from Paddington to Royal Oak and Westbourne Park?

Yep, every Circle and Hammersmith & City line passenger service will be driveable using the Class 484.

Fair enough. I actually think it still holds up today, great scenery, foliage placement and use was v good, lighting was better than now, on my pc anyway. The only issue for me was the signalling - no approach control, which spoiled the immersion a bit.
Looking forward to the remaster though, maybe it will end up as a TSW6 route with extension somewhere...

No model changes to the interior but it does have different colouring and posters to match the D-stock.

I’ll be honest - I was skeptical about the mixed colour rakes as I like things matching and just so, but after watching some of the Paddington station 24/7 series (in which some rakes are mixed) it actually looks quite cool!

I think licenses are done on a case-by-case basis and can't be added without asking - and as this is a free update (not much income on offer) it's not worth the hassle (or, I'd assume) money to go and get TfL approval for no more than facilitating a short shuttle at the end of the route.

Think you are in the wrong thread. This is GWE Remaster :). Probably need to put your comments in the Cardiff City thread in the Feedback sub forum.

Yeah it may look a bit weird if you never saw them
Irl but the mixed rakes were very common especially during the FGW-GWR transition.
It’s great to see Liam put all this attention into it and upgrading the line to probably the best we have so far! I’ve had GWE since before tsw was released (preordered it in pretty sure) but I haven’t really used it in recent years due to how it is now.

Even if it does release post TSW 6 does it really matter? Like for this route you need GWE, the Class 387 from London Commuter and then other routes for other layers right? Like unless they randomly decide to include it as part of the base pack or deluxe edition I think it’s ok

They wouldn’t dare have it as the base pack haha given it’s so quiet and a bare roadmap I just hope that means we’re gonna get a really decent core route with a decent high speed run or the Riviera line!

To clarify GWE:R will be a free update to owners of GWE and not be extended or sold as a new pack :)

That sounds like something that someone who knew that GWE:R won't be a free update to owners of GWE and will be extended or sold as a new pack would say

At the time the route is set, the only functioning OHLE was that which powered the Heathrow Express, which turned north off the GWML at Airport Junction. The new power lines were being constructed, out as far as about Maidenhead, but hadn't been turned on yet.

Nor does it rule out the basis of it being an extended GWML for the purposes of TSW6…
