Cargo Line Vol. 4: Military Feedback Thread

Installed it on PS4 but it does not show up. No additional timetable services on scebarios on GWE, no mention in layer selector, the "Class 66 Cargo Line Military" is not shown in the loco selector. Game just does not recognize it.

Have not tried Preston-Carlisle.

Hi Harriet. Thank you for your post. Please find below some screenshots. The DLC is installed, but GWE does not show me a layer. Similarly, in the "my library" section of the game, only Vol. 1 to 3 appear. Strange.

Have you tried the classic - turn it off and on again - method? I am aware that sometimes new content will not appear if the game was open when it was obtained. Sometimes a hard shutdown and restart of the console is all that's needed.

Thank you. I am still in the procees of going through a number of steps. Shutting down, restarting. Rebuilding the database. Re-loading the relevant DLCs (although they are already there, i.e. double-clicking on the download). Now I am reinstalling TSW 5 with ONLY GWE and CLM to check if there are any incompatibilities. Etc.

The weird thing for me is that GWE does not seem to know anything about CLM. If there was some sort of incompatibility or I am just doing it wrong, GWE should show the CLM layer as greyed out (i.e. not owned). But there is nothing, so my first impression (as a layman) is that the last GWE update did not really prepare GWE for the new DLC.

Yes, I received the updates on 2 June. I recall GWE being part of that.

Update:

While redownloading, I have started the game and the three Scenarios are there now. The timetable layer and services are not there, howerer. Waiting for the full game download to complete.

Update 2:

Same situation after complete download. Three scenarios are there, but timetable layer and services are missing. DLC does not show up in the "my library" section under the in-game store.

 

The KWA wagons don't appear to have any suspension on them. The 66 does, but the wagons remain bolted to the rails

 

The scenario 6G64 Longtown MoD - Heysham Harbour on Preston Carlisle game me trouble. When I selected it the game just loaded forever, when I start it on the journey mode it just spawns me on foot on a random spot on the map. After a game restart it seemed to work but thought i'd mention it anyway. PS5

So, I downloaded Preston-Carlisle and there it shows me the additional Cargo Line Military timetable.

No change though on Great Western Express.

Update: I looked up in a YT video when the military trains are supposed to run and checked whether they appear as AI. But this is not the case.

So, to sum things up for GWE on PS4:

- the timetable does not show the services
- the scenarios are there and playable, however (and they are actually nice!)
- you can spawn the DBC loco in free roam
- the DBC loco does not appear in the loco selector ("train hall" from the main menu)
- the military trains do not appear in the layer selector
- the military trains do not run as AI

As the KWA was introduced during WW2, will the KWAs in the pack be compatiable with vaccum fitted stock or is it just air-fitted stock?

 

Had a few runs with them now and found that the wagon sounds are easily heard in the cab of the class 47 as though you are outside or have the cab windows open (the windows were all closed). They also seem to make a lot of "air/air brake" noises/weezes as they pass over rail joints which seems wrong. (These noises were all heard from within the cab and not from outside as they pass over joints etc...)

 

One more thing. The labels when hovering over the DBC Class 66's switches are in English, even though my PS4 and the game in general are set to German.

Military services are implemented directly into the default 2016 Timetable on GWE. No additional timetable was required.

 

Thanks for the clarification Adam. What happens when the GWE remaster timetable wipes the existing one?

 

Do things like the overly loud and possibly strange noises coming from the wagons that I mention above need raising separately to this thread or are they taken up via this thread?

I believe Liam has developed a brand new timetable for GWE. He would not be permitted to impact the existing timetable or any existing gameplay with the remaster. This may be one of the reasons it is taking a while to release. Everything that has gone before must be checked safe before it can proceed.
WRT what Liam implements into this new timetable for GWE, that would be for him to confirm. We cannot force him to implement all our equivalent Cargo Line content that has been added to the default timetable.

 

Bought this to use the Warwells in Engineer's trains.

Available in Livery Designer - Yes
Available to use in Formation Editor - Yes
Available to use a reliveried example in Formation Editor - Game says NO!

That kind of scuppers my plan! This has happened with a few recent items, the ECML MK1s being another, which have promised both Livery and Formation compatibility, but apparently not together.

Please, please address this, I'm spending money and time on things I cannot use.

 

Another red DB Class 66 copy with a broken parking brake indicator, again both words ON and OFF are written above each other on the indicator.

This issue first occurred with the red DB Class 66 from WCMLS. The issue was reported several times and ignored until today.
Since then exactly the same red DB Class 66 with exactly the same issue was copied for Cargo Line Intermodal and now again for Cargo Line Military without fixing it.

So if you have to copy Class 66s, then please fix the base first or take a Class 66 that doesn't have known issues and works properly.
It can't be that nobody has seen this in the already third faulty red DB Class 66 copy or thinks it's okay to simply ignore this issue as if it didn't exist. A little more effort please.

I will refund Cargo Line Military for this reason, not because I am petty, but because it is now a matter of principle and I will no longer support or tolerate this ignorance.

The fact that from inside the cab with the windows closed you can hear the wagon noises louder than, and over, the sound of the loco power unit itself to me says they are too loud.

 

I wonder if anybody else on PS4 is experiencing problems with the timetable. I cannot be the only one, can I?

Did everything. Renewed licences, rebuit database, disabled and re-enabled PS4 as primary PS4, updated the system software, deleted the game, reinstalled the game, deleted the game again, reinstalled from the PlayStation Store, switched system language to English, deleted the game, reinstalled the game.

What can I do? Please.

Which version of the Class 66 are you selecting for GWE? It seems to only appear when you select the Cargo Line Military variant. Reminder that there's no new timetable for GWE, only additional services.

 

I do not have that 66. It simply does not show up. I see the two GWE variants, the CLA and CLP, SEH, and EDNPack variants. But the 66 DBC that comes with the Military pack is not there.

I can spawn it in free roam (and it is present in the scenarios) but it is not there in the selection menu.

looks like Skyhook are doing things on the cheap because just like the FCA's from vol 3 the warwells don't have any brake equipment at the wheels!

 

Just another update on the sounds....... Having used them on a proper run now I can see what nhilsubsolenovum means in their post above about the KWAs not being loud enough as when running at speed and viewed from outside the KWAs make next to no noise at all.

I have also found that the wagon sounds mod makes the KWAs sound louder so removing this mod has lowered the volume of the KWAs slightly but they can still be heard in the cab with the windows closed and they do still make a wheeze sound when passing over track joints rather than the normal sound that the loco wheels or coaches make etc....

 

No timetable services available on steam platform. All I'm seeing is scenarios.

 

I'm on Steam and get all the Military timetabled services on WCMLoS and GWE. (You have to select the class 47 in WCMLoS and the Military class 66 in GWE).

I have selected every variant of the 47 and 66 there is. None of them are showing consists with military vehicles. I can spawn one when on foot though.

That sounds a lot like the issue on PS4.

Do you have a Military layer in the layer selector on GWE?

 

I've never looked at layer selection to be honest. Never had a problem with layers before. Will check this later. Thanks.

 

Isn't the Class 66 from ECML ?

 

Sorry if been asked but when you get the second timetable on wcml does progress carry over from existing timetable or is start from scratch again. Thanks

 

ECML also has an EWS 66 and WCML South also has a DB Cargo 66. The Cargo Line 4 pack, however, comes with its own version of the DB Cargo 66

 

Two separate timetables, progress does not carry from one to the other.
