What's the situation (again) with the Fife Circle timetable update?

Hi DTG team, I appreciate all the recent expansions in TSW 5! I wanted to ask if there's any possibility of extending existing routes to add more length, especially for making better use of the Class 390. Thanks!

 

What will the future of PS5 look like in terms of layers and timetables?

 

LIRR suspension(you've promised)?
Bombardier cars for AVL(they even existed, but only for AI, and after the update they disappeared completely)?
Eye adaptation bug(overexposure from cab in early motning & late evening)?
Track monitor for the freight trains(it shows bullsh*t instead of speed limits)?
Cajon Pass stuck horn sound(causes mental damage)?

 

It’s likely just that the route is struggling to handle an additional loco + coaches and is probably stressing JT out.. letting SHG put their add-on on it first would be counterproductive to JT’s progress!

 

Is there any updates or information to share on some of the partner programme / PC editor creations? Some have gone a looooooong time without updates (something we had gotten used to over on the PC Editor area)

I’d like this to be addressed please. At first I just thought the DRS logo was yet to be added when seeing the train - it looks very bland. I’d like to know, if possible please (and I recognise this may have to be addressed in the follow up post):

• Why the DRS logo and branding isn’t present on the unit
• What efforts were made to have it on the unit
• What DTGs policies/thoughts are on unbranded content

I feel it’s ok when it is adding to routes, but not really when it is the headliner loco of a paid route or pack. There was a fair amount of outrage in the community with this happening for the 350, so I’m wondering why it (albeit never advertised with the branding) has happened again for this add on? It’s just disappointing, as in this case it really hinders realism - the loco just looks generic

Now that the roadmap is out: why hasn't the 420 gotten any new information for the roadmap?

 

Why has the Manchester route got 2 timetables? Is this a Gen 8 thing or a console thing or something else?

 

Could we get more information about the new 101 expert added to the Kassel-W. Route? And the new timetable?

 

Well well well Frankfurt S Bahn gen 9 exclusive, Manchester Airport Commuter gen 9 exclusive and now BR 194 and E94 railtour pack gen 9 exclusive!!!!

Why are add-ons just unexpectedly becoming gen 9 exclusive?

Is there a gen 9 add-on infestation or something?

 

Now that TSG is expanding Kassel to Würzburg 's timetable, are there any chances for future minor improvements to the route? For example fixing the light backing at the northern end of Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe, which sometimes is extremely emersion breaking once a train enters/leaves the station. To make the tunnel lights work, would you need to replace them entirely or is there some kind of "turn on button"?

 

Thats because Gen 8 is simply way to old to be longer supported. I would expect all stuff being announced from this point on to be Gen 9 only. Every other game company does that by now anyways.

 

Why are their two timetables for Manchester Airport. Are Consoles getting a reduced timetable again?

 

Are Rivet going to fix the broken light on the AI 170’s and the blank service in the scenarios that’s preventing completion? (yes I know)

What's this about Manchester Aiport having 2 timetables? Is this another situation where consoles get half the timetable for the Same price?..cough cough.....Frankfurt S-Bahn. I understand consoles can't handle as much as most PCs but at least give us the option to choose either timetable like PC has or reduce the price. The layers for this route look good so I hope I can utilise them all.

Otherwise roadmap looks alright. People need to stop asking questions that have been answered on the roadmap. Open your eyes people. I don't usually like complaining but the Frankfurt S-Bahn situation was bad so I really would rather there not be another.

 

Please elaborate on the 'two' timetables included with Manchester Airport Commuter. I hope Matt is OK and his family also.

 

- How is optimisation overall progressing? Especially for us on console.
- Can an assessment yet be made thus far on whether Frankfurt S-Bahn might one day have a complete, or at least, a more full timetable?
- What's the situation with reduced timetables for Gen 9 console; was Frankfurt S-Bahn unique or this to be more expected going forward?
- Will guard mode ever been improved?
- Would you consider upgrading/updating more older TSW routes?

 

Thanks for the much-needed clarification. But why was this not mentioned more clearly in the actual roadmap article to avoid confusion - especially after Frankfurt S-Bahn.

This is good news imo, but 90% of the forum are thinking the worst that it's a console restriction.

Clear communications are so important.

 

What is the next release going to be

 

Can we have some more info around the GWR HST Farewell Addon please.

 

Can we have a bit more clarity regarding fixes on other routes (especially Cardiff)? A lot of feedback is being put into those feedback threads and it would be great to see someone actually recieving it and noting it down.

For example so many people have mentioned scenery issues on Cardiff and provided screenshots etc of broken PIS etc

Is there any reassurance DTG can provide that feedback is being listened to and actioned upon because certain routes are feeling a little fire and forget despite the droves of feedback in the threads. Especially some routes in the £30 bracket which just aren't up to the standard of other routes that are actually cheaper.

 

It's a good thing! Getting rid of Gen 8 so it doesn't hold us back.

 

Why did the TfW 142 Addon get removed from the 0-3 Months section?

I'm aware of the Mittenwaldbahn update released in March, and this did fix some issues like those you mentioned. But many more remain.

The signalling is still a bit messy in parts, that's my biggest gripe about the route. There are many distant signals still showing "expect stop" when the followup main signal actually shows green. Leads to a bad habit of ignoring the distant signals.
There's one service which is running along the whole route in reverse, loco at the rear.
There's one shunting service at Mittenwald which can't be completed because of a misaligned switch.
Also there are a bunch of (admittedly minor) graphical errors, like misaligned level crossings or bridges, tree trunks veeery close to the tracks and so on. Those don't make the route unplayable, but detract from the experience a little.

Please don't get me wrong, I love the route. That's why I want it to be as bug-free as possible

Ah yes, and I'm on PC/Steam.

 

Will there be an update for Frankfurt S-Bahn on consoles. The route looks so empty with the reduced timetable.

I'm on PS5. Is there an update to the issue with the train cab display screens not working correctly eg when zooming in you cant interact with the screens. Thanks.
