    The Train Sim World Roadmap
    Announcing: MBTA Providence/Stoughton Line HSP46 Add-On
A new gameplay pack is coming, that brings the iconic purple HSP-46 from MBTA Commuter, over to the NEC: Boston - Providence, with a new set of gameplay scenarios and Conductor Mode to the route!

These three new scenarios will challenge you in different ways, from building up formations from a cold start, yard work at Readville sidings, to train rescue operations during snowfall!

A tutorial for the HSP-46 will also be added to the Training Center, which will feature a guide for setting up the train's controls, loading and unloading passengers and completing a full loop of the circuit.
We'll share more details for the gameplay pack in the coming weeks.

    Third Party Partners
Announcing: Cargo Line Volume. 5 – Nuclear from Skyhook Games

Skyhook Games is proud to officially announce that the ever popular Cargo Line wagon series for Train Sim World is going nuclear for Volume 5! Introducing the FNA-D Flask Carrier wagons and their perfect partner the Type 1 Class 20/3 diesel locomotive.

Skyhook: “Created as a wholly-owned subsidiary of British Nuclear Fuels Ltd during late 1994, Direct Rail Services (DRS) had the sole purpose of taking over rail-based handling of nuclear material from British Rail. Initially operating from the reprocessing plant at Sellafield, DRS opened a dedicated depot at Carlisle Kingmoor Yard in 1998 to cater for its new fleet of 15 ex Channel Tunnel works Class 20 locomotives."

"DRS eventually operated a fleet of 21 examples of the English Electric Type 1s, being significantly upgraded by Brush Traction of Loughborough with long-range fuel tanks, group standard headlight clusters, high-impact windscreens and a complete cab rebuild before outshopping them in iconic Oxford Blue livery with fully yellow ends and red buffer beams.”

“The original fleet of FNA wagons were built by British Rail, and later Procor, for the transport of spent nuclear fuel from power stations to processing and research centres. These fascinating wagons came into service in the 1970s and became an iconic part of the network, performing this important task. In the 2010s, it was identified that replacements were required. The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority commissioned WH Davis to produce 40 new wagons as a 'like-for-like' replacement for the original FNAs.”

“The new batch featured several major updates including exposed framing, different bogies, and the ability to carry a wider range of flask designs. Despite the reduction in nuclear power plants in the UK since the millennium, the FNA-Ds can still be seen in use across much of the UK.”

In this Add-on, the Class 20/3 appears in unbranded Oxford blue livery to represent these locomotives.

Thank you to Skyhook Games for giving up a glimpse of this new add-on, we can't wait to share more and continue to Cargo Line series further in Train Sim World 5!

Manchester Airport Commuter from Alan Thomson Simulation
This month, the Alan Thomson Simulation team are excited to share new screenshots and details for their Manchester Airport Commuter route!

BR194 and E94 Railtour Pack from TSG
The TSG team are also close to bringing us their awaited BR194 and E94 Railtour Pack, featuring new 1980s rolling stock and gameplay for the Linke Rheinstrecke and Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn routes!
Tomorrow, we will be sharing the full announce article for the pack, so stay tuned for many more details coming very shortly – in the meantime, here’s a refresher of what you can expect, coming from the TSG team:

    Rolling Stock:
    • New BR 194 (80s version original e94)
    • New E94 088 (Railtour loco)
    • New B4yg Passenger Coach
    • New Gbs freight wagon
    • Es50 freight wagon
    • Falns in DBB livery

    Gameplay:
    • New 1984 timetable for Linke Rheinstrecke (For a full experience requires layers from Mittenwaldbahn, BR218 and Niddertalbahn)
    • 2 x Scenarios on Mannheim Kaiserslautern for the E94 088
    • 2 x Scenarios on Linke Rheinstrecke for the BR 194
    • E94 Railtour used in various upcoming timetables for railtour services
TSG: “When the ÖBB took on the E94s to form the ÖBB 1020s, over time they made a significant number of modernisations and improvements to the locos to keep them relevant and suit local requirements. In backdating the 1020 into the BR 194 these modifications have had to be removed leaving a somewhat cruder locomotive."

These modifications are extensive and not limited to: Air system modifications, Train brake valves, Indusi i54, Utilitarian cab, Different Pantographs and control systems, Different lamp systems, Weaker electric brake, Changes to the Overload system, Green paint and a range of various other cosmetic changes!

As a thank-you from the TSG team, a portion of their proceeds from this pack will go directly to EZW to support their continued efforts in preserving this incredible piece of railway history.

Please note, the BR194 and E94 Railtour Pack from TSG add-on will be released on Gen 9 (Xbox Series S|X & PS5) and PC platforms only.

Class 86 + Mk2f Coaches from Just Trains
Another release to keep an eye on coming soon is the BR Class 86/2 loco, included with Mk2F & Mk1 RMB coaches, from the Just Trains team.

Included are several external variations of the 86/2 which feature changes such two different types of Pantographs, RCH cables, a centrally mounted High Intensity head light and a single Rally light uniquely fitted to 86225. The eagle-eyed amongst you will remember this light from the first ever teaser image for the 86/2.

The feature coach of the Class 86/2 is the much-requested BR Mk1 RMB Buffet Car.

Also included in the pack are Mk2F Coaches, in BSO, TSO and FO variants. The air-conditioned Mk2s were the mainstay of many long-distance passenger trains after their introduction in the 1970s, and have seen use ever since, in both service, engineering and railtour duties.

Both the Class 86 and Mk2 Coaches brings additional challenges to the stunning WCML: Preston - Carlisle route and will substitute in place of some Class 87-hauled services. As well as this, included with the Class 86 add-on will be 5 brand-new Scenarios available to play on the Preston – Carlisle route, ranging from a football Special out of the map to Wembley to represent England playing against Scotland during April 1986.

    Two timetables for Manchester Airport?

Are consoles being shafted again and getting a reduced timetable?

Cargo Line 5 has the potential to be good. New version of the Class 20 is nice though a bit weird it's unbranded considering we already have a DRS Class 66 in the game.

"Across two timetables" really needs to be explained further for Manchester Airport. Sounds like a potential Frankfurt situation for consoles, which is concerning as that was supposedly a unique situation.

My goodness US content is in a dire state. A nothing scenario pack (ya'll couldn't even add the HSP to the timetable?) for Boston-Providence and the High Iron pack seems farther away than ever. Sad.

Edit: and GWE Remaster is gonna be for TSW6 i guess as it's still not in 0-3 months.

You can expect an answer to be subtly slipped in at the end of the release date article, but don’t worry, at least it won’t break!

TBH, I think most of content mentioned on this roadmap would release after September, the releasement of TSW6, but there are still some surprise.
The biggest surprise for me: Expert DB BR 101 for KWG and new timetable, this content looks cool and awesome, hope that this DLC can revitalize KWG, I can't wait for its release!

We can now expect 323, 66 Freight & RHTT, 390, 350, East Midlands 158, ScotRail 158, and TfW 150 & 153 for MAC, which I think it can make Manchester Piccadilly much busier and more realistic, and we can expect a busy timetable, but from these screenshots, we can't know what would the nighttime scenery look like in MAC, especially around Manchester.

GWR HST farewell pack and Cargo Line Volume. 5 Nuclear, which can be interseting, and finally no more Class 66! Instead we would get a new version of Class 20.
But would we see Class 68 in TSW in the future?
Or maybe the Cumbrian Coast line, as there are relugar Nuclear Flask train on this route, serving the Sellafield Site.

If this is the case ( and i really hope that we will not see anymore reduced timetable on consoles) i can see the chaos that will erupt at coming soon article

I've got this feeling the 2 timetables is the two line splits. One timetable for the via Airport line, another for the via Stockport line.

Oh man this better be free. The community is gonna go crazy if we have to pay to have an already existing locomotive layer into a route that it should've been on in the first place.

That wouldn’t make any sense, that would be like having a separate timetable for each line on Frankfurt S-bahn. I think it’s possibly timetables for 2 different eras a weekend timetable or a full & reduced timetable and I’m going with the latter

If the two timetables are a full and reduced one, it would be cheeky to list a combined total, as one is presumably a subset of another. Maybe different eras?

Yes it is. Been the same with PS4… they got it by mistake and it was left there. Players on these platforms were asked to give feedback in case they did encounter issues which in the case of Epic and PS5 shouldn’t be necessary

Making (what should be, and historically has been) a FREE update into a paid DLC is a new massive low for DTG. Modders figured out how to substitute the HSP46 and the bi-levels into BPE within a few days of BOW releasing, and that was with the massive hurdle of modders not having access to the uncooked timetable and consists. The roadmap article doesn't even mention if the DLC includes the bi-levels as well, which is another massive issue, if true. Hopefully DTG realizes this is a huge mistake and removes it from the roadmap before they get in too deep, at the very least the substitution should be a free update, it's only fair to everybody who already purchased BOW for the HSP46.

Anyway, if you're on PC, don't even waste a microsecond even considering the DLC, because if you already own BOW there's a FREE MOD that's better than the DLC will ever be...

HSP46? Really? An existing free mod(isn't even completely!) + 3 scenarios?
Will you add all the Boston Commuter rolling stock or just the HSP46? Or maybe Wickford Junction? If not, then you are asking for money for an add-on that is worse than a free mod.
Will you also fix the bugs on the route and add stop markers? Will you fix the timetable?

This is why it’s hard to get excited for new content anymore.

Paid substitutions, more unlicensed liveries, yet another DLC looking like console optimisation has gone out the window. All with the transparency of a sheet of lead.

JT & TSG can try as hard as they like to carry TSW (though seems TSG are moving to payware model to use an already paid for trainset on other routes…), but the core of TSW & DTG just gets more rotten each year.

Last month’s had the TFW 142 in 0-3 months, now it’s in TBC has it been delayed?

As suspected, Tadami and the Class 104 still shuffle off into obscurity.

They still can’t state an actual release date for the Class 86 pack.

Nothing about the 420, unless I missed it.

And I’m getting bad price level wibbles about the E94 pack, got a feeling it’s not going to be customer friendly.

Also really concerning to see there isn’t much on the Roadmap route wise, apart from the short ATS electric bus stop. Obviously as predicted seems pretty much everything is under wraps for September.

I'm really excited for the Santa Fe Pack. I agree that the Stadler Class 68 should have been included with the Nuclear Train DLC. Maybe in the future. The BR 194/E94 Railtour Pack is cool too. We need some railtours in the US too, perhaps with some restored steam locos or Heritage Fleet diesel power.

The class 150 never received new audio on May 12th as DTG Harry said it’s still being tested. When can we expect the new sounds?

    I just want the 150 sounds:|

The Kassel-Wurzburg gameplay pack by TSG sounds exciting. Have always loved this route and glad to see more older content get updated with newer stock and fresh gameplay - more like this please.

Also, interesting to read, as mentioned by Alex in the other thread, of a weekday vs Sunday timetable for Manchester Commuter - why couldn't this simple thing just've been mentioned in the actual roadmap in the first place to avoid people thinking the worst...

So it's confirmed to be weekday/weekend? I'm totally fine with that. Why are they so bad at communicating lol?

Yeah! Check the Roadmap Q+A thread - bizarre though not to be mentioned in the actual roadmap. :D

and for those who still doubt that TSW6 is in production and will happen, this roadmap is the answer, yes, TSW6 is in production and will happen
since we don't have any new content releases that are relevant (with the exception of the manchester airport commuter) it is a roadmap basically formed by gameplay packs along with a literally cashgrab (hsp46 pack) wich is pathetic (and even more so for me who owns boston-worcester)
will save my money for santa fe gameplay pack

Is the HSP 46 pack just a paid timetable mode layer? That's horrendous. The fact that people who already paid the £30 for the Worcester line will have to pay again to see the HSP 46 on Boston Sprinter is very customer unfriendly.

Assuming the HSP-46 isn't free for owners of Boston Commuter (Worcester), this is by far a new low for NA content, I am actually impressed that we are getting something worse than the ATSF F7. Wasn't HSP subbing attempted when BOW came out, which caused the consist length issue, which was determined too difficult to do anything about?

I love how there is no mention of bilevels, the pictures even specifically avoids showing rolling stock, so there's no way bilevels have been added either, so this is what? should be free, is free with a mod, $6 based off of other reused loco DLCs, maybe up to $10 with the excuse of conductor mode all for a engine that should have been free substitution like every other loco that can sub into another route?

Especially if a Class 68 is on the cards in the near future.

It's actually so scummy they're charging money for what should be 100% free for owners of both routes. Anything to squeeze money out of peoples pockets

TSW stays uninstalled, wallet marked safe etc. Can't wait for direct movie. Well the announcement of the date announcing that content which announces some stuff is being made but no dates given!

In truth, this Roadmap makes me really glad I was able to get Roadcraft working on my PC.

TSW is starting to take on the air of a title that is rapidly stagnating.

Exactly, it makes no sense, it literally should be free to owners that already have it, it makes zero sense

I wonder whether the Sunday timetable is a way to get a decent performance on consoles and have the full train-type compliment, while still letting people have the full dlc.

Very quiet roadmap regarding my area of interest, but that was to be expected. The 101 Expert addon for KWG came totally out of left field, surely a good enrichment for the route! :)
No real news about the E94 pack here, but I guess we'll be somewhat wiser tomorrow.

What I find interesting about the KWG Expert 101 Pack is that it seems to deviate from the doctrine that DLCs must be self-contained. So, a DLC would work - albeit poorly - even if its parent DLC was not present. For example, you could buy the Baby Bullet without owning Peninsula Corridor and still use it in free roam. With this pack, you need the Expert 101 or you will end up with no loco you could use on any route (not only KWG).

I am not saying that I am against this. We have a number of "redundant" locos because of the former concept. Of course it would be nicer to have things like this as (free) upgrades but I understand it is not a wish concert.

Seems to be a general shift in strategy. With the Boston gameplay pack, you pay for a loco you may already own to use it on a route you may already own. Or the 111 for FTF, but that is indeed a bit different from the Salzburg-Rosenheim one.

And still no word on the Sprinter timetable for the Fife Circle? Absolute joke.

Just looked at Roadcraft trailer looks interesting. TSW stagnating is something I will agree appears to be the case. The two biggest selling points (Graphics/Timetable Mode) are not something that keeps me coming back time and time again. Seem to have found my comfort zone in Free Roam on TSC, modded to the max admittedly but feels more fun and thats with content I have owned for years.

They should have cancelled the stream…. I can read the roadmap and don’t need it read to me in a way that makes me feel I should be grateful for buying US dlc that should be free. I think this game is unfortunately stagnating…. I’ll go back to ets/ ats/ no mans sky
