May be an XBox thing then. My Steam version doesn't have it (yet)

I do wonder: will we have a color mismatch between the 103 and the Avmz coaches? I'm pretty sure the game's 103 is in classic RAL 1001 Beige, but the new color from 1974 (for all DB rolling stock including the TEE/IC pool) was RAL 1014 Elfenbein (ivory). Similar, but side by side not the same; 1014 is paler and yellower than 1001.

Can you show us how the interior looks?

The only change I could notice is the screen is gone

Allthough I have not bought anything for TSW for ages, I might consider this one. It seems like a well thought out gameplay pack, that actually adds value and makes route interesting, that I never liked that much. Backdating it with a new timetable and more interesting rolling stock is a great idea. For all my modern day needs, I´ve got the revamped modern Rheinstrecke in TSC with all the Flirts that belong there.

Wow, I am not sure what the actual changes would be but the fact that they went through the trouble to remove that screen because it was period inaccurate for the livery shows again that TSG cares about going the extra mile.

Looking forward for the Br 218 in Ozean/Blue. Hope that we get some layers for Niedertalbahn as well (dreaming is free).

Niddertal is set well into the Orientrot/Produktfarben era.

They didn't repaint everything on day one. In fact, many locomotives were never painted in Orientrot and wore blue/beige (or even older paint schemes!) well into the Verkehrsrot era. The blue/beige 218 would fit Niddertalbahn perfectly.

Exactly! Ozean/Blue can go with the mint green perfectly.

Fair enough- this one was taken in 1992, the year NTB is set

    And 2005: [IMG]

I've found examples as late as 2018(!), which are link-blocked.

I mean, at this point they've started repainting them into old liveries. There was actually only a fairly short length of time when DB didn't have any blue/beige 218s. Plus private operators, museums...

Absolutely true. In my home area, blue/beige and orient red 218 both were a common sight until around 2005, serving with silver, mint and red n-Wagen as well as Dostos.

Regarding repainted old liveries: I count myself lucky to live near Kempten, where both 218 406 (orient red) and 446 (beige/blue) are stationed, and in limited but regular service. Not by a private operator, but DB itself :)

    Two stunningly beautiful gems

Yeah, most likely an article about it, presenting the DLC as a whole. Hopefully it includes the price and a (soon) release date :)

    Hello solicitr.
I have just mentioned some minutes ago, that about the mismatch between the 103 and the coaches.
Mainly considering they are the right ones for linke rheinstrecke route.

I believe and suggests, that change in color must be for free, for the ones who have purchased the route.
It will not be complicated for DTG. As is just a paint scheme, with horizontal lines.
Only have to change the colors.
    Regards

Bought Linke Rheinstrecke in the last Steam Sale specifically for this this pack, but honestly i'm now contemplaiting if it's really worth €25.
This is gonna be another wait for when it eventually goes on sale.

While €25 is expensive, we can't forget that this is very high quality. Since I am very selective with my DLCs, I can buy this Day 1 (i mean, I always could but didn't want to)

When looking at the price, we shouldn't forget that a share of the income is gonna go to EZW, who are doing a great job in keeping these old locos alive and kicking. I've been on a couple of railtours with them, and it's always a joy to see how passionate they are about it :)
So consider it a donation with benefits ;)

    I dunno....
2 new locos, a new freight car
    Two reliveried freight cars
    Reliveried 218
    Two scenarios on two routes
    New timetable for Linke Rheinstrecke

Seems like an okay deal for $24.99
    Bit pricey, but not unreasonable.
Depends on how much someone appreciates the content and era to be honest.

Look at it this way.... a "Cargo Pack" would give you a timetable and scenarios plus 1 wagon usually for... $14.99?
Now add to that two new locos (or two very diverse variants of a loco) for $9.99.

If you look at it that way, it's not any more expensive than existing DLC for what you get.

It's a Cargo pack and a Loco pack combined together.

If anything, a lot of the loco packs are more expensive with less quality so you're getting a pretty good deal.

I wonder how these will affect other routes regarding substitutions and such? For example if a 94 layers on for example the 110 from Main-Koblenz, then does that carry through like with other DLC, so that anywhere the 110 shows up (if you have the right packs) does that carry over accidentally to other routes?
Not saying it's intentional.... but sometimes it happens and you get "bonus" substitutions on accident.
Given how many other routes already have this from the 103/110 from this route, it makes sense that anything replacing those would then be usable on many other routes (like Semmeringbahn for example) as a happy accident.

Does anyone know if the BR 218 is crucial? I don't want to buy Hamburg-Lübeck for the 218 (I am fine with buying the 218 itself)

That's a good one for the preview stream Q&A. Remember to ask that next week in the Q&A thread.

This is actually not true. The 218 was a stand-alone loco DLC for TSW4. You don't need HBK to use it anywhere else, EXCEPT for Maintalbahn, and that is for the Dostos. In fact, even without HBK, you will find that it substitutes in on many other German routes. HBK will not be required to use the 218 on the new LFR timetable.

Using the 218 on HBK is actually pretty fun though, although admittedly the route appears dated.

Yeah, it's a newer DLC that doesn't require base route anymore. But yes Nate is correct. You do miss out on things on that route if you don't buy that... but the 218 does work for layers on other routes (and free roam of course)

Maintalbahn is one of the major layers. I had bought the 218 but refunded it because of that.

The 218 is a lot of fun on both Hamburg-Lübeck (albeit the services itself are a bit monotonous) and Maintalbahn. But it also works quite well on other routes where it wasn't even intended to... I enjoy using it on Main-Spessart for the shorter services especially, and also on Ruhr-Sieg Nord (not that many services, but fun) :)

Having Mittenwaldbahn's Krokodil seems a bit pricey to me, I'll definitely wait. It will be the first TSG work that I won't buy at full price.

I think the dilemma for many is that will be released around the same time as the Class 86, latter TBC of course. So it becomes a matter of triage with one or the other being set aside for later in the year. Again it all comes down to pricing, pushing train packs to the £20 level as opposed to £12 or £13 means you become a bit more selective about what to buy or leave for a sale later on.

    20 isn't that much.
That's the cost of lunch, and you buy that every day.
If someone makes 20 an hour....then you work 1 hour for... how many hours of gameplay in TSW?
That's about what a ticket for the movies costs now (with popcorn)
You get 2 hours of "fun" out of that.
Not expensive to me at all.
The people saying it's too expensive are guaranteed blowing a lot more on much less.
If people want to be cheap, sure wait for a sale.
    They happen all the time.
I'm just saying it's not a bad deal for what you get.
It's just not cheaper than normal for TSW.
    It IS normal for TSW.
We have to remember that for much of the world or non-video game players, spending ANYTHING on a "game" is considered excessive and crazy.
They're blowing their paycheck on booze, clothes, furniture, food, etc.

It's for the principle. I have money to buy every single addon without sale, but I won't do that, it isn't correct.

That when Addons aren't good I won't purchase them. Not the case here, my point. Even though its "expensive" (relatively expensive but practically cheap) I am buying because of the quality.

Actually, this turns Hamburg-Lubeck into a banger.

Just a couple of the many, many upgrades:
