At some point I could have sworn someone (I think a German?) shared a link to a Google Map that had all the real routes from DTG, Payware, and the major freeware routes mapped out and color coded. I cannot for the life of me find it on here. Does anyone recall this or know of a good alternative? I'm a Yank and while my knowledge of UK geography is probably considerably better than my compatriots, I am not to the level of a native Brit and would like to be able to visualize these routes and places.
Actually I don't think that's the one you refer to... I know the one you mean, but can't find it again myself now.
No, the one I'm thinking was similar in how the Google Map looked, but it had all routes in UK, EU, and US, and they were color coded, and it was pretty awesome. It was also much more up to date. All I remember is that 749006 responded in the thread. I don't know why he stood out. Probably because he had some snark. I remember that the person who posted it said that it was put together by zee germans at a German TS site.
I remember it... it had all 3rd party routes on it. I remember because it had the Blackpool to Preston Fylde line on it from On Track Simulations. I have a feeling it was in the TSW ain't cutting it with PC users thread over on the dark side. I could be wrong there.... I've slept since.
I've just been through that entire thread... not there. Sorry. I wish I'd bookmarked the damned thing now.
Got it! http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/train-simulator-2020-tsw_252726#6/51.000/2.000 It was literally one post above this one in the pinned "Third Party Repository" thread, second page. I was right that it was a German who posted it and that Peter responded...to tell him it was wrong lol.
If anyone knows the Manchester Area they might spot a problem in the Reddish area http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/train-simulator-2020-tsw_252726#13/53.4564/-2.1331
Looks like this map has been taken down. I have most of these maps rendered on my site if anyone is interested. Site: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/home UK: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/uk-routes USA: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/na-routes EUROPE: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/europe (Click on the maps to drill down to the individual Route pages) Each map has further detailed maps for each route. As I play through them I am adding all points of interest. (Example is listing of ALL Armstrong Scenarios): https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/misc/ap-scenarios These Google Slides (for each Route) include details of the route and consist. Respectfully
No the map is still there just the URL has changed slightly https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/train-simulator-classic-neu2023_940885#5/52.335/8.130
Little thank you to Peter for this, very useful in planning my virtual Railrover of the UK (though I have quite a few gaps in my collection including nothing by ATS). See my post in Off Topic. Top man!
What! No ATS. You mean you can’t drive from London to Edinburgh nonstop. Missing the full run up the WCML (in 5 parts!). No FLIRT.
It was interesting you bookmarked it - post #15 - but you did not bother looking at it. Look again ATS is there including the Missing Link and 4 other ATS Routes GEML (DTG) is there FLIRT is not a route - it is a train and can run anywhere.
I was just checking out your maps , very helpful for me cause the in game maps are hard to read and when doing a service ..plus looking at your maps gives me better idea of end points braches etc will help me when planning runs on new routes i get also seeing routes and services for routes ahead of time if i might want to purchase
Don't "do" ATS. I plan on adding the Peterborough to York section at some point (though reviews are mixed) but not obsessed about joining them up. Same with the WCML which in any event is offering a break of journey on my Railrover to bash the S&C in both directions. When I eventually get there!
If it dont give you a api key it wont work there was 2 softwares to do that and they didn't work i tried nothing happened.
As you replied to a thread from July I think you are talking about the wrong thing. This is about a Map that shows all the routes in the game https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/train-simulator-classic-neu2023_940885#5/49.696/11.030
Although one can see an overview of TSC maps at : https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/train-simulator-classic-neu2023_940885#5/52.308/8.130 Some of the details can be useful. I have been adding more detail within my web site. UK: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/uk-routes US: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/na-routes EUROPE: https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/europe-routes Each of these maps have links to more detailed maps of each route along with listing of scenarios available in each route This is a work in progress of which I am adding to daily as I complete my journey through all of this TSC DLC
Yes Peter thank you for the link. I was clarifying that I have tried to add more granularity to the maps. I find it is good to be more complete in communication when posting information on line. Respectfully
Check this post. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/informational-railroad-map-utilities-for-tsc.85794/
There was another thread where there was some discussion about the TSC route map and I also remember the creator of it responding there. I´m not sure where to post this, so I´ll just leave it here: - New release Frankfurt-Koblenz V2 adds Wiesbaden and some other spots to the German route map. - Regio S Bahn Netz Bremen has been extended to Delmenhorst. - "Niederelbebahn" and "Projekt Niedersachsen" should be deleted from the map, as the downloads have not been available for many years (creator pulled the routes from Railsim).
I have on my web site. Here is the Europe map https://sites.google.com/view/trainsimulatorcontent/europe-routes
That only has what you have decided to include and ignores other routes There is more than one route in France. The other map shows most of what is available https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/train-simulator-classic-2024_940885#6/48.269/6.768
True... it lacks routes from eastern Europe, but is otherwise mostly complete including route updates and freeware stuff.
The map leads to individual detailed maps and scenarios associated. They are mainly what is commercially available.
https://rail-sim.de/forum/filebase/entry/8967-hannover-bremerhaven-v1-0/ arguably the longest and most well made German freeware route.
I was confused when kilt46 said it was routes that are commercially available and I had not seen it for sale I will give it a look
I have a few 'free' routes added, however, these are an exception. I published the "Hannover-Bremerhaven" route from Tom's recommendation. I only publish what I have tried out. Of these I have fleshed out the actual maps and where possible I am logging my journeys as I go. The database is really my personal journey within TSC as I enjoy going through my very large DLC library. I publish the info here so that others can benefit if they like. I am less of a train enthusiast and more of a journey enthusiast. I prefer commercially available 'actual' routes and shy away from Workshop and Fictional routes. Some of the maps I have published are my interpretation of the journey aligned with actual Google Maps. They may NOT be a true representation of the actual co-ordinates provided from within RWInfo. They are my best interpretation of actual geography available now or in the past. The map you provided is not up-to-date: for example: Altantic High Speed is not available
