Hello there, I was having a think about some routes I would possibly want to see in the future and was wondering what others would like to see? I personally would love Cardiff - Swindon via both Bristol Parkway and Temple meads (onwards to Bath) and would give a nice variety of services utilising a variety of different traction (both new and existing). unit wise I would love to see some form of 22x either being a 220/221 from XC which could be used on many different existing routes or a 222 for EMR? What trains or routes would you guys like to see? (mods if this is in the Wong place feel free to Move it)
I would like to see midland mainline completed properly and not the half baked Teflon mess it is now 1. All good devs pumping out numerous add on packs we’ll go back to basics and add meaningful value and given track already laid open up toton sidings which is inaccessible. 2. Finish the route off including Derwent branch To Matlock. 3 Add Sheffield branch 4 add missing half of route from Nottingham to Lincoln central via Newark Castle thus that would not only make sense and complete route but would also add missing half in of Leicester to Lincoln line
Okay here I go... Steamers: Pannier Tank Mallard GWR Hall GWR Manor GWR 45XX Terrier Diesels: Class 17 Class 73 Class 73/9 Class 50 Class 35 Class 121 Class 180 Electrics: Class 455 Class 444 Class 450 Class 91 Class 365 Class 485 (IOW) 2009 Tube Stock S stock Coaching Stock Mk1 RBMK Mk2 RBMK Mk3 Sliding Door 4 wheeled coaches Caroline 975025 Inspection Saloon Routes: Victoria Line District Line Portsmouth - Southampton Brighton - Littlehampton Bluebell Railway Thameslink Core Swanage Railway Portsmouth - London Waterloo Features: Passengers pressing emergency alarm Being able to buy tickets from ticket machines Train dispatch roles (why not) Ability to add photos to livery designer (but mods approve it first) Ability to couple and decouple trains during routes Steam locomotives have headboards headboards you can add your own text to. Ability to run electric trains in free roam on IOW, It has 3rd rail but we can only use the 484 and 483, Interestingly you cant use 484 or 483 on mainland routes E.g. Brighton Commuter. Ability to run electric trains on non electrified routes in TSW (You say you can Run any train on any route in free roam. Yet you can't run a class 710 on the IOW... and you cant run a 484 on the east coastway area... (I also wana run a 313 on the WSR for some reason) and all i get is (Invalid path) yet it is a valid path. Thanks for your time
I've said many times before and I'll say it again. The English Riveria from Exeter to Plymouth with the Paignton branch included. While I'd prefer a late 80s/early 90s setting I'd be happy for any era and for Rivet to be nowhere near it.
I'm going to add to my list... Class 57 Class 69 MPV Tamper Class 03 Class 90 9F Mk3 Sleeper Coaches Class 221 Class 220 Class 222 Class 230 Class 144 (PACER) Class 319 Class 508 Class 507 Class 345 Class 27 Class 56 Class 370 Class 456 Class 150/1
I would love something from Australia. Preferably around Sydney/NSW. Maybe a Sydney Trains line like over the Harbour Bridge up the North Shore, or down the Illawarra Line. Into the Blue Mountains would also be nice but would be a stretch in terms of distance. - This is likely never to happen with licencing etc., and without a third party to do it.
For me, I'd like to see the North Wales Coastal (NWCL) between Crewe and Llandudno Junction and the short branch to Llandudno. I feel if this route was set before the twelve voyagers moved to XC, it could add layers onto WCML South, MML, E2G, FCL, and more recently CCN for the once a day return service from Cardiff to Edinburgh and back bringing more life to these routes. Plus the Llandudno Junction to Llandudno and Crewe to Chester shuttles would increase playability due to how short the journey times are between these locations (10-12 for the Llandudno branch, and 20-25mins for Crewe to Chester), and a journey of around an hour or so between Crewe and Llandudno Junction
My choices would be. Metropolitan Line. As in TSC London to Banbury (Chiltern Line) Severn Valley Railway ( Kidderminster to Bridgnorth to include Tank and Hall class) Skipton to Keighley or Bradford (to include KWVR branch line Keighley to Oxenhope) Whitby to Pickering (NYMR) Birmingham Snow Hill to Banbury. 1960s
I've said this a gazillion times, but the London, Tilbury and Southend Line (aka c2c) would be perfect for TSW. It's a complete route that takes 1 hour and a bit end-to-end, with multiple options (3 different ways, plus semi-fast and all-stops). No need to cut short artificially like some others, layering possibilities if set in the present day (SEHS, Suffragette), DLR trains as AI (same as Mildmay) and even some reskinned 484s masquerading as District (D Stock) or Hammersmith & City (C Stock) (same as the GWE remaster).
Riviera Line first and foremost. My second wish would be the Medway Valley line (Redhill to Strood) which would connect SEHS to BML for decent route hop journeys in the South East.
I think you'll find this posted a LOT in the "Suggestions" thread, which is where it should go, but to answer... a Class 57 or Class 70, something modern for freight in the UK. For a route, something with proper freight loading/unloading at perhaps a port (like Felixstowe)
Hamburg to Kiel via Neumünster. Included is the Twindexx in Nordbahn livery, the DB Br 474.3 for the Sbahn services, a Br 146+dosto and a 185.2 for freight. Sbahn lines via Dammtor are all starting at Hamburg Hbf, all lines going via the city tunnel will start at Altona as the city tunnel probably wont be included (i would wish for it being done tho). Once a route with a Flirt 3 launches it gets a gameplay pack for services on the route. Possible loco dlcs for it would be either a Br 490 or a Br 472 and an ICE 4. Overall rolling stock i want to see in Tsw is: 1. DB Br 412 "ICE 4", Stadler Flirt 3, Br 474.3, Siemens Desiro HC and Stadler Kiss 1 in IC livery.
I completely agree - I would love to see Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa in TSW, making full use of the renewed GWR licence. There could be routes along the Great Western mainline to Paddington through Swindon, West towards Cardiff, South towards both Portsmouth Harbour through Wiltshire and also through Somerset and Devon towards Cornwall. Going North, there could also be routes to Birmingham New Street.
I'm sure you're right but I think many of us think of the suggestions forum as something of a " black hole " from which nothing rarely if ever comes out.
I fully agree, I love the GW setting and as you say, any era would be great. There’s lovely views there and I also wouldn’t want Rivet to have an influence
I did consider putting it there but I saw this of more of a discussion then a direct request. And as Crosstie said, the suggestions forum is quite an empty place. As I said, I’m happy for any mods to alter its position depending on where they feel it fits.
Both of these routes are also ones where I’d like it. Chiltern also has a nice selection of traction too.
Exactly, Bristol is a great route with many different options on where it could go, also they have the Severn Beach line which would add some extra variety. There’s a decent amount of traction too! 158, 165/166, 150, 800/802, 220/221, and then you get Swr 159/158 down at Westbury and TfW and xc170 at Gloucester and south wales
Appreciate that but the problem is it just ends up generating a huge wishlist, most of which have already been suggested then ignored by DTG as they pursue their preferred agenda of bus stop UK electric routes or German interurban in the modern era.
A complete (or good portion of) an NSE area electric route any era from 1970s to modern day. If we're listing classes, then here goes. 302,305,306,307,308,309,312,315,317,321,345,357,360,405,EPBs,411,421,422,423,442,444,450,455,501,508,701,720,730,745. London Underground CP/CO,A,D,S Surface Stock, TS59,62,73,83,92,24
Routes would be: LU Circle & Hammersmith & City line LU Piccadilly line (Post 2024 Stock debut) North Clyde Line LO Windrush Line (East London Line) Great Eastern Mainline WCML north (Glasgow - Carlisle) SWML Merseyrail

Yes we all have routes we would like to see, I mean I’m even with the Aussie guys/gals who want to see something from down under as it were. But DTG are almost inflexibly rigid as to what they will make, plus the number of third parties prepared to invest time in route building has diminished. As in SHG seem to have stepped back from it, Rivet now appear to be DTG’s official sub contractor/second party for the Dovetail routes. The Japanese developer is a small outfit seemingly bogged down with their first project. Which basically leaves JT and maybe TSG (when also not subcontracting to DTG). The prospects for North America seem particularly dire, even without the access barriers the major railroads have thrown up seems there is just no one prepared to take it on. So yes, I would love to see something north or west of Inverness in the UK, a steam era Great Central from Marylebone to Rugby or the Somerset and Dorset from Bath Green Park to Bournemouth. The Oslo to Bergen line in Norway, the old Yugoslavia narrow gauge down to Dubrovnik, Darjeeling Himalayan, well the list is endless really. However we can’t even get DTG to do a modern day Wherry Lines in Norfolk and their first foray into Wales was a pitifully small micro network around Cardiff, not even built in house.
