Just curious because I’m considering buying one due to it being the one country I don’t have in game yet
Hobson’s Choice. Arosa is very old with rather basic scenery albeit the structures are modelled very well. The trains are at best adequate with questionable physics and sound. However it is a complete end to end route. Luzern to Sursee. Very short and feels empty with just the one train. Route building is much better than on Arosa and it can be quite fun within its limited scope. For those who run with safety systems on, this is reportedly heavily flawed. Bernina still suffers from only being about 60% of the total route. From what I saw of it before refunding, the scenery on what we got is nicely done, head and shoulders above Arosa. However I had some misgivings about the Allegra physics which seemed to be “cavitating” particularly on the steep sections and not convinced the sounds were genuine or authentic. All three at this point I would say wait for a sale, as Bill notes above probably Bernina just nudges ahead of the others but none of the routes come without some baggage attached.
It’s already been only a year and I haven’t seen a single Switzerland route on sale for Xbox…… so waiting for a sale at this rate is out the Picture
Bernina is pretty much worth it to me it al depends on knowledge about the route and or trains i am a casual player and everything does not have to be 100% correct so long as it is pretty close I will be happy
Arosa is ok in the snow, but without it, doesn’t look much like the real route. It still has physics issues despite them being improved. I would not pay full price. Luzern Sursee. Actually ok, just dull. Bernina. Looks and sounds like the real thing. Really nice scenery that is totally recognisable. But it finishes in the middle of nowhere at a place that no train would actually start or terminate at. It’s still fun but ultimately it’s a really slow drive and even with the nice views, gets extremely dull (due to being incredibly easy to drive. Just set the speed control and let it do the work). If you must get one, Bernina is by far the best in my opinion, but in all honesty I wouldn’t recommend any of them. Disappointing as I live in Switzerland and would really enjoy a decent DLC
Since best is subjective, everyone will have their best/favorite route AND OR as to why each route is good/bad.
I don't really mind that Bernina is "only half a route", since a full run is still well over an hour. Ospizio-Bernina also represents the head of the Val di Poschiavo, the setting for the route.
Probably an unpopular opinion due to the length, but I really liked Luzern to Sursee. Love those short condensed passenger routes or what some users like to call them (bus stop routes) smh. I wouldn’t dare touch that route now though as like BML it has terrible lighting. Worse than BML in fact. Berlina would be joint second thanks to the awesome scenery.
I find that with most sales on Xbox (which are already limited as it is), rarely is a 3rd party product actually included in the sale. Usually just DTG's.
Sadly yeah but did get lucky in the past with buying Blackpool branches for 50% off a few weeks after buying west coast mainline 1980s for full price, I was actually originally planning on getting Blackpool since I was on gen 8 but I changed my mind
I just bought S-bahn Zentralschweiz and finished my first trip from timetable mode. I did a express run from 20 minutes to get a overall look of the route. The train itself is very nice, the scenery is nice but also a little basic and could be better. The performance is good, even on Series S in 4K mode. I like S- bahn routes in general, this one is perfect for a little drive when you 25 - 45 minutes time to play. Also the fact this is the only SBB route makes it a nice to have route. Some freight hauling would be nice on this route, but I don't think we will ever see this on this route.
