Anybody do this Type of Emergency Stop?

You know when you have not seen the red light in time and there is no way you are going to stop the train in time and all hope is lost! Just Decouple the carrages from the back of Diesel engine and the train stops in like a few yards. Hand if you spent ages on your current run and don't want to start again.

Only works with Diesel engines that I know of?

Only works with trains you can decouple with one click on the connection. Isn't in any way realistic, but does serve as a last resort.

I can't say I've ever done this. Having a good understanding of signalling systems I rarely spad. Apart from the other evening when I passed a clear distant signal followed by a stop signal.

I didn’t even know there were exploits like this, helpful though and a good find if you’re ever in a situation like that.
Rarely spad myself and if I ever did it would be because I was playing in thick fog thanks to dynamic weather, or those evil signals that are placed a few yards from the objective. I always make sure to make a save now before that.

You mean this couldn't or wouldn't work in real life? ;) It is a last resort, a final hail mary.

Yeah, sometimes you or I can get distracted and before I know the red light is looking at me doing 40mph towards it.

It's a shame it's not just the player train that spads. I mean It could have been open the door and jump out and it's not the players problem anymore.

Sadly you are still attached or responsible for the train, jumping out doesn't excuse you from the red light, I have tried :)

Yeah even if you manage to give up the service in time it still spads. Even when the ai trains spad it kicks you out the session.
