We have a major TSW5 update coming out today. Waiting for Steam to release it. Anyone want to discuss how it will effect performance since that is one of the things it says it will do. Another thing we are getting, the ability to toggle mods on and off for pc. Wonder if this will be good enough for beta testers sine they have to run mod fre?
dal#7945, yes it is and Steam has now released and I have it. Release notes here Game Update - Train Sim World 5 Game Update - June 23rd | Dovetail Games Forums
Just tried todays update, class 700 windscreen is fuzzed out by rain and the wipers do not clear it! Undriveable...
it is downloading here will soon test it class 700 that is probably a mod that broke because of the update?
martschuffing, Thorgred with the new patch there is a toggle to turn off mods in the advanced setting, so quick way to see if it is a mod causing it. If this toggle works, then it will now be easy to at least determine if it is a mod causing the issue. Which route were you running the 700 on?
I have no issue with the class 700. Are you using the cabview mod? That mod gets broken fairly often when changes to locos are made by a patch.
Looking forward to seeing what this brings, in particular with regard to sound squelching on WCMLoS and other routes. Suspect this may be why the JT Class 86 pack was held back so assuming it beds in okay would be good to see a release date. No mods here so anything that does get broken will be vanilla game.
Harry has a thread in Player Feedback now Dovetail Games - Train Sim World 5 Game Update - June 23rd Feedback Thread | Dovetail Games Forums
Just ran a 710 in Gospel Oakes and the rain reacted ok on my windshield. Running pc with mods installed, though do not know if one is the cabview mod.
That is great to hear that we now have a mod toggle. It will be great if we know which mods will break something in game. While the mods make TSW more immersive, there is a greater chance that something can break. I partially wonder if it's good to just play the vanilla game or to have mods installed
Update: Expert 101 and 218 patches have been repushed to Steam, so you should start seeing those in game after the download. Apologies for the inconvenience, Steam apparently couldn't cope!
Some of you are lucky and live in a strong and fast internet area. Where l live it’s painfully slow and at nearly 80gbs means that l won’t be able to play the game for two days. Also it’s good to see JD back.
Well the Steam/PC download was just under 3Gb for me but it had an awful lot of files to rip apart and put back together and took around an hour to complete (while I was tormenting myself pouring copious amounts of sand to put a road into the port on Sunken in Roadcraft!).
This should provide access to all of your owned layers, an issue which is directly related to memory. What does this mean excatly
This was part one of the big update, there will be a second one. They're now gonna look into the blurry issue. See the patch notes of today.
PS5 Added a setting to enable or disable passenger accessories (such as bags, phones etc.) I haven't found this setting anywhere...or am I looking at it wrong?
They’ve done a lot to improve WCMLS. Especially the performance. Unfortunately though this and the last update have removed the PIS from all AI locos. Now they all say they are Not In Service. I don’t know if this is the case for everyone. But it is for me on console.
With today's update, I have noticed with the mods option disabled, the mods still are visible when playing but turning enabling mods, causes the game to load approximately 1 minute slower than with the mods option disabled, especially if alot of mods are to be loaded. Not that big of a problem as 1 minute is quick
yeah weird i noticed that too all the modded timetables are working godmode is working etc not sure on what that setting is doing then or if it is blocking only a few mods
This P [Removed swear; DTG Harry] me off. On Koln - Aachen, the BR425 has black PIS screens and on the Dostos, the PIS screen is only active on the cabcar, the other ones are black. This was already the case before this update.
Update, 24th June, 09:18 BST: We've just repushed the 101 Expert and 218 update for Xbox. Can I confirm players who were missing it are now able to see it, please?
turning mods off needs retesting (patching) since it does do nothing or it does not turn every mod off
I think the problem that transpired from the "turn mods off" is that - a lot of the mods out in the wild dont look like mods as far as the game is concerned, they look like DLC. So that's why you're not seeing every mod turn off. Needs a bit of a rethink really. Matt.
So it doesn't matter what you choose in the mod settings for now? But for me the main question remains: why do I need this at all? If I installed a mod, then I need it. If I don't need it, or just don't like it, I'll just go and delete it. If the mod started causing problems with the game after the update, then the mod still needs to be deleted, and not disabled with all the others via settings. The only thing I can see is checking it on a clean version to understand where the bug is coming from - from the mod(s) or from vanilla.
Another mess of an update lol. I dunno performance seems actually worse for me on Frankfurt s-bahn, though i'm glad there's PIS at the Hbf now. One step forward and two steps back as always with TSW. Might take a chance on Manchester Airport when it releases, but otherwise i think i'm taking a break until TSW6 releases and hopefully we get player confirmation that the game has improved. Not promises but actual results. TSW5 has been a massive letdown IMO.
DTG Matt, I am sure you have thought of putting some kind of marker into the file name of your dlcs which this toggle would recognize and turn off anything which does not have said marker.
