1st step of the journey: 194 tutorial Matt's voice is a lot quieter than in other tutorials, maybe if he was louder he wouldn't have to repeat some lines... The step that says turn the blower to slow or fast only completes if you put it in slow. Once coupled to the wagons the game says to set the train brake to running, doing so doesn't complete the objective, through experimentation I have discovered if you wait a minute then move it to overcharge it then completes. 2nd step of the journey - E94 tutorial When instructed to set the reverser to forward, the objective doesn't complete, Matt's voice also said release the brake so I tried doing that to see if the reverser step would complete, but still stuck at this point. Driving round the training centre loop still doesn't clear the 'set the reverser to forward' objective so unable to complete the tutorial. Not sure how realistic the physics are, on the preview stream Lukas said the speed limit is 90 and it can only go a little quicker than that, I currently have it lapping the training centre at 194kph. Oh well, I'll abandon the idea of completing the journey and see if things improve out on the main routes. PS5 Pro
You can't earn medals for the 194 timetable services, all requirements for bronze, silver and gold are listed as zero and you just get a tick upon completion rather than a medal.
Is there a Manual for this Loco/Pack ? Given the amount of simulation going on here it would be helpful for sure.
PS5 Pro All services for all types of locos occupied in the 1984 Timetable always have the same 0 points for all types of medals. bronze 0 .... silver 0 ... gold 0
Heya, yes! Just finished the last detail in fact, it should be released on the appropriate platforms today I always enjoy writing manuals for TSG so I hope you'll appreciate it as much as I did writing it
Also on PS5. I'm not able to complete neither of the tutorials. The overcharge trick doesn't work for me. Ah well .......... not surprised anymore. *SIGH* The BR 194 is a beauty to drive and look at. Especially the details of the bogies with their animated compressor and generator propulsion. Well done, TSG! I have a feeling to spend many hours on LFR (which you make me revisit after long time absence). Screw the tutorials.
10 AM PST has passed, Steam Store update is done, but no new DLC? EDIT: OK! Now it is here https://store.steampowered.com/app/3260430/Train_Sim_World_5_BR_194__E94_Railtour_Pack/
Hey, as some of you might have noticed by now, the manual is indeed online, at least on the Steam Page (no idea where to find manuals on other game pages but if there usually is a slot for it, then it should be here too)! Let me know if it is adequate as it is the first I had to do for a gameplay pack specifically, which makes marginally smaller than the ones I did for the Niddertalbahn and Mittenwaldbahn and certainly the BR 101 Expert, but it should at least give a good overview of the product and add to some of the basic tutorials to make the experience of driving it a bit easier.
First of all: Kudos for the new timetable! I haven't completed a service yet, but it already feels much more alive and diverse than the old one It might not be period-accurate to 1984 with all the mint cabs and 628 running around, but in my head it's 1988 or so the E94 is amazing! I'm already getting a kick out of the Reichsbahn lamps and their red filter. Gotta read @Raph's manual first, I guess. One thing I noticed already: When I'm standing on a platform (in my case Koblenz) I can't enter the 194 because the "climb stairs" does not appear. When I enter it from the other, non-platform side, it works fine. Edit: This sentence from the manual just made me go a little nuts: Mainz will fully come to life once the BR420 releases, which will be used for AI services. Period-accurate 420 incoming? Another edit: The substitution section of the manual says: Niddertalbahn (BR 365, BR 612) Should be 628 instead of 612, right?
The kind of thing that I get wrong and only see when people see it after release............................ x') If it gets an update that will be corrected but yes, that is indeed supposed to be mention the 628
The tutorial "E94 088 Introduction" can't be completed. It tells you to set the reverser to forward and then you get soft locked as the objective won't complete.
E94-088: The wipers are not animated/don't work. Also the instrument lighting is constantly on with no way to turn it off. Also the sun visors are not animated and the right window ones don't have a clickspot at all. Running the Rheinland Pfalz Fahrt scenario right now. Also tried the 194 in front of some freight. For some odd reason the freight wagons brakes were being applied constantly, had no way to release them. I think its got to do with the freight wagons being from RSN(?), I've had the very same problem as well some time ago in free roam with those wagons and the BR218.
PS5 194: Cabin 2: Unable to control the sander lever via PS5 controller.... in cabin 1 the lever moves to the position "rear", but must be returned manually via the cursor
In the German version, the explanatory voice also jumps from German to English and back again after a few sentences.
Confirmed all of those. It's only on the E94 088, on the 194 it works fine. Another tiny issue: Service E3359 with the 218 from Gau-Algesheim to Mainz does not have an arrival time at Mainz in its schedule. I can literally arrive whenever I want (reminds me of modern-time German trains). Edit: Another weird thing. Raising the pantos on the 194 works well, except when you enter a fresh 194 and try to raise them before standing in the driver's position. If you set the handle to "raise", nothing happens. When you then move to the driver's position, they immediately raise. After having been in the driver's position once, it works fine as it should even when moving freely.
yeah the pantograph animation is based off of simugraph, so to get it to work properly it needs to be a player train.
I played two services, none of them had arrival times. I requested a refund. The BR 194 / E94 are really great. But I honestly dislike the fantasy rolling material in the 1984 timetable.
Ah ok, thanks for the info. It's not a big deal, once you know about it I thought I would too, but for some weird reason, I can live with it. The rolling stock might not be period-accurate in any year, but the timetable is vastly more interesting, busy and varied than the 1997(8?) one.
I was really looking forward to more 80s content and hadn’t been checking the forums much over the past few weeks, so I just bought it today, and, well... As mentioned, the rolling stock itself is excellent, but since it doesn’t really add to any of the content I already have, I’ll probably wait for a sale. I already own LFR and the Mittenwaldbahn, so for me, it’s just not enough at the moment. I do feel a bit bad saying that, but it’s just how I feel.
Understandable. I view this pack more as a starting point, something to build up on. And who knows? Some day, when TSG has graced us with a Hasenkasten cab and a 515/815, they might replace the mint stuff on this timetable here Back to the issues: Is it just me, or is the rolling sound of the IC coaches at higher speeds rather loud inside the 111's cab? Almost as if a window is constantly open, but all of them are closed.
To add to the E94-088: When the train brake is in the release position theres constant sound of air being released. And on LFR I cannot get the 42724 service moving at all. The brakes of the wagons are stuck if I see this correctly.
D409 with the 111 from Mainz to Koblenz: Everything went smoothly (except for the noise in the cab I mentioned above), I was on time until just south of Koblenz, where I ran into a huge traffic jam. A couple of IC's and freight trains ahead of me and from the other line across the Rhine all wanted to get into platform 3. The jam cleared up eventually, and I arrived at Koblenz with about 10 minutes of delay. Also, the sets of n-Wagen on the southern sidings of Koblenz as well as the 2 Umbauwagen at platform 105 are filled with people, waiting for eternity
Is there a special way to see the 218 in the timetable? I have the DLC instealled. I can play it on the 5 other routes... but nothing comes up when I click on Linke Rheinstrecke timetable. Neither 218. Neither timetable (1984 or 1997) As I said, I can use the red 218 fine on the other 5 routes it goes on. (Although even there there's no 218 in cream/blue either) I'm on PC if that matters. Note: I do notice that while the announcement and Steam pack mentions the 218, there is nothing mentioned in the Gameplay Guide. Hmmmm. Regardless if you get the E94 pack (which I have), the livery for the 218 was supposed to be part of the latest update anyway (which did download) Did they change their mind? Addendum: Looking further, there is no E94 either. Just the 194. It also can't depend on Niddertalbahn either, because the 365 from there shows up as well. Just not the E94 and 218.
On a non-technical note, not sure what the "real world" situation was with passengers, but not having the 194 on passenger routes too seems a bit odd? I love freight personally, but it states clearly in the manual that it was used on BOTH, and I know the majority of TSW players prefer passenger so... a simple substitution for those runs too seems like it would have been a big selling point. *shrugs*
That's odd... I'm on PC too, and I got the 218 in the timetable without problems. Already did a service with it. The blue/cream version does appear only on this timetable as of yet. A missed opportunity for Niddertalbahn, if you ask me. E94 was the original designation of the loco, but since 1974 it has been renamed to 194 The E94 088 got its original number back, but is only used for railtours on Mannheim-Kaiserslautern ingame (yet). Back in the day it was indeed quite common to use freight locos for passenger services, often to avoid empty positioning runs. There are pictures of 194, 150 and even 151 in front of passenger trains. And the 140, being a jack-of-all-trades, was especially common in passenger services.
Is anyone else on xbox missing a ton of loco and rolling stock for the new timetable? Im missing: br 218 Br 111 Br 103 Db 463 Along with all rolling stock that comes with those
Just uninstalled everything related to new timetable and re installed, still missing almost everything from timetable. Also in the layers option it says all kinds of stuff is not owned when in fact I do. Beyond frustrated with this
Doing my first complete service with the 194, I noticed that the volume of the outside sounds doesn't change when opening or closing the door windows. Or the change is very minimal. Also, the engine sounds seem to be a bit quieter than on the 1020... dunno if that's just my imagination.
I have similar problems on Xbox Series S. Have already got a refund and will wait for bug fixes to be released.
While waiting in the traffic jam near Bingerbrück, I noticed something on the map: AI service 6850_BingenAI_2 seems to be stuck in front of the eastern entrance signal of Bingen, although the next signal after it shows green according to the map. Followup service 6868_BingenAI_2 parked right behind it (I guess because there's no other signal between the spawn point and this location And it's even worse on the southern branch, coming from Bad Kreuznach! AI service E3201_BingenAI has stopped at the entrance signal as well, and amassed quite a collection behind itself I'm tempted to leave my 194 and go looking... might as well, since my traffic jam doesn't seem to clear up. Service 7509 towards Mainz is occupying platform 101, and not leaving despite having a green signal, according to the map. Edit: I had to remove service 7509 as well as 6850 and 6868 to be able to continue. There's another traffic jam at Gau-Algesheim, on the branch coming from Bad Kreuznach. Edit again: Another traffic jam near Mainz. Same situation as above, all the AI-run branch lines seem to just stop at the entrance signals. I removed two on the Nieder-Olm branch, and two waiting at the entrance signals of Mainz Hbf, then it started to clear up. Ah yes, and I'm running service 44851 from Koblenz myself.
Service E3365 (BR218) seems to be infinitely stuck on the entry signal at Mainz Hbf. Looking on the map I cannot see a reason as to why it would be like this. Theres nothing crossing or in the way.
PS5 I cannot spawn both E94 and Br 194 on Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn, neither Expert or Normal Timetable. But i can spawn a ÖBB 1020 ? It even was clearly advertised to unlock the museum to place the Loco there. Can we PLEASE just get rid of those senseless spawning limitations?
PC/Steam: The livery designer template of the 194 seems to be broken. Notice the black stripey parts on the front part. I've only applied paint and even before, when it was gray, those stripes were there. Also can't add anything to the two hoods, which I believe to be just oversight, since I can't even add a loco number to the front nor put text on the frame of the hoods or paint the front, which is what I was going for to recreate 194 178, and liveries for the 1020 with painter and decaled hoods are available on Creators' Club. Also the switch for the stove plate on the E94 088 seems to have either the wrong kind of switch installed or the wrong kind of animation for the used switch (it rotates when it's clearly a square one found on apartment walls)
I guess it's not supposed to be like that. The Umbauwagen in the snow are complete White. Route: Dresden Chemnitz (Scenario Planner) Xbox Series X
So far only had time to drive cab car for a short while. On Series S all layers appear to be present; at least they were there to be selected. I did observe the 111 appearing in timetable mode with stock from MITT, and the 365 and 628 from NID, and of course the 194. That only leaves the 218 which I was unlikely to see after 20 minutes of driving anyway. I will say that there was a very noticeable and positive impact on static stock and AI traffic, which to me was exactly what LFR needed. As others have said for some reason the station arrival times are not displayed, but the time to finish loading passengers still is. Because you get scored on accuracy on arrival and time on departure, this has no effect on your overall score, if that is a concern. It should still be fixed of course. Other than that the only other thing is that I saw very little difference between the two Falns wagons, so as not to even be a significant change, but it was low light so I will hold judgement on that. Overall a good first impression on Series S.
Bingerbrück has been renamed to Bingen Hbf in 1993. At the same time, Bingen has been renamed to Bingen Stadt
Name change. DB officially "moved" the town's hauptbahnhof to the bridge station (Bingerbrück) and renamed the old Hbf the "Bingen city" station; but locals (and I daresay train drivers) continued using the old names for years To be strictly accurate, the 1984 timetable should use the old names. But TSG couldn't modify the route, just the trains.
That's what I was trying to say, just with less words. Oh well. Back to the issues: Service 55300, Part 1 almost immediately runs into an obstacle. D2151 blocks the way at the northwestern entrance of Koblenz. Since I had to go and do some chores anyway, I let TSW run for about 40 minutes, wanted to see if the train moved. It did not.
I had to cycle the reverser a few times to get it to work and make sure the throttle ran down. Maybe it's a timing thing? The 194 does have it's quirks. Still take it any day over the 87/86 or any other German electric though ;-)
I wonder if not having Mittenwalbahn installed matters with the E94 and 218 missing? They SHOULDN'T, especially with the 218 being it's own DLC... but is anyone in a position to test this? It's still a bit pricey to me at $45. I was hoping the pack wasn't dependent on that. If not, then I have no clue why the 218 and E94 won't show up when the 194 does....
Thanks for the clarification Amity. In any case, isn't the E94 listed as E94? I don't see it under the 194 as a differnent livery (or at all) and the 218 still just shows up as the original red version as normal. Dunno what the issue is. As I said, I don't think it should depend on any other DLC being present, but the only one listed in the press release I don't have is Mitten. But if that's the case... why would the 194 show up, and why would it affect the second 218? Just weird.
operator#7940 the E94 088 would be listed as E94, correct. But it's not in this timetable, only the 194 is At this point, E94 088 is only available for two railtours scenarios on the Mannheim-Kaiserslautern route. Why the 218 only shows up in its red version is strange. My timetable here shows the cream/blue version. Have you tried removing and reinstalling the DLC?
The instruction also doesn't make any sense: since you've just coupled your light engine to a cut, you would have used the loco brake to control the stop anyway, not the train brake.
