But I do have to see it though it's built into the route I can't just remove unlicensed stuff from the game
If I can remove unlicensed content and only have licensed content I would , for example only have the licensed product from creators club remove the unlicensed LOVE that came with the route, then I wouldn't have an issue
Is this a train simulator (e.g. one is driving the train from a 1st person perspective) or a train set simulator (watching train sets external to the cab - like Trainz). I personally spend more time inside the cab adjusting controls etc. Therefore in my opinion the branding is not of high concern. Having the appropriate coloring of the train is enough for me. It is easy to be a critic when one is only purchasing software. Try making the actual models and negotiating commercial agreements. As a customer you always have the choice not to purchase. It amazes me how many 'Glass Half Empty' players there are who expect everything. Software performance issues are one thing. Eye candy another. (Bought myself a 4T SSD yesterday and dedicated to TSW - performance on my rig seems to be working well) Respectfully
Even unbranded a.i is an issue for me I dunno it just really doesn't sit well with me at all unbranded really takes away a lot for me personally and I can't see past it either it was the euston to Milton keys route that's threw me off most , they had the license then all of a sudden they didn't something doesn't sit right to me now we have an unlicensed route and it ruins a lot for me , but we do have avanti licensed on the route it's madness , just my personal opinion of course , cos there is a bunch of people that r happy to have everything unbranded as long as we have the route so many differences of opinions I'm seeing it's very interesting
TSW is centered around appealing to a variety of different players. TSC is a great platform for using DLC with available (more accurate) branding. Some of the AP rolling stock branding is fantastic. 3rd party freeware skins (especially for UK) is huge. I suspect TSW is targeted at quick turnaround DLC enabled for console platforms. The extra attention to detail that you will find from AP is just not there! If you are looking to drive rolling stock similar to what you are familiar with then TSC may be a better solution. TSW is great for quick pick-up drives and timetables. This rinse-repeat method is a great way to create revenue. Each to their own.
Personally, as long as every effort is being made to secure the licenses, I would much rather have an unbranded loco than miss out on having that loco entirely. I think it would be a great shame if a potentially really good route didn't end up being made over it, again I would much rather have it without branding than not at all.
I mean you’re making a lot of this but nothing is going to be done for the tiny minority you represent. How about using layers to remove the trains that offend you so much? Like everyone else I prefer branded trains but recognize it’s not that simple. If you can’t get the license you can’t use the branding, simple as that.
Uhh... Both?? Click "1" for first person, "2" for third person. All cab controls and buttons are clickable and interactible (this is a realistic simulator, not a game!)
Wot u mean use layers to remove it ? I'm console so if it's a PC thing a cannot do wotever u saying , if I could remove the trains that r unbranded I would but I can't
Problem I have is I'm on ps5 , like if I was on PC ide just add the mods that fix my issues , but I don't have that ability to do so
I couldn't give a monkey's about branding, i have no interest in privatised railways. British Railways and British Rail, do not throw up branding issues. If DTG had any nous, they would create more pre-plastic railway content.
I guess in his mind you should only be able to drive the full route with the 66 or if you have the 390 (honestly who doesn't)
If it gets us more TSW content, I'm happy with that they can add as much unbranded stuff as we can get! Those are the joys of being on PC, there's always a work around!
Here's a thought... what about "unbranded rail pack?" Like a Cargo Line pack but with all the stuff that's unbranded you CAN add if you WANT? Don't like unbranded stuff, don't buy it. It just layers in on routes if you decide to buy it.
Personally I don't care about the trains being branded or not. I spend most of my time in the cab and even if passing trains have a slightly different paint scheme, I'm not going to notice.
Where branding can be acquired this is of course preferable, but if a deal falls through as it did with WCML South, then that cannot be helped. Regarding the creation of future routes and locos, let's say for instance that DTG was going to create ECML Kings Cross to Peterborough for TSW. While they are in the planning stages of this, Govia decides they no longer want their Thameslink or Great Northern brands represented in the game. I would absolutely take the route missing accurate station signage and branded train liveries if it meant I still got to drive it (especially if it had BREL stock). I completely agree that having licences in game looks better and adds to the authenticity of the experience, but I'm certainly not living or dying by them. If your honest opinion is that they just shouldn't make the loco or route at all, then just don't purchase it. It won't make any difference to your experience that way.
