It's great for a project of passion.
Much like Athena Simulation's Class 47 project.
My point is that it's not offering new capability to sell the pack on.
It's arguably only as different from the other Class 20 as the Athena one is from the default 47.
That pack was criticized for not offering something substantially different, even though it was as much or more different from the default han your class 20.
It is not something that will change actual capabilities or fill a hole (like a 66 replacement)
Again, I get concept of low investment to save costs.
You don't have to defend why you used a 20 which is accurate to the role.
I was only asking how it would sell compared to the other cargo packs given it's different focus.
Be nice if it did sell well. I hope it does. It's nice to see people loving their Vol 4 and Vol 3 stuff.
The Class 20 tweak just isn't a "significant" enough change to justify it to me.
A Class 68 for example would be a day one purchase because it adds more than just the nuclear loads, it'd be filling a hole in the game currently. More routes to layer on would be more likely to sell me. A "foundation" to sell more DLC later (like Fife to use the 158) could add more value too.
A Class 20 and nuclear flasks is a sale special... to me.
I kinda hope I'm wrong and it does sell well to a whole lot of other people.
I do hope it sells well for you.

Don't mind the haters. Looking forward to this pack myself. I would appreciate it however if you guys would give some more insights into what was changed on the loco compared to the existing class 20. The roadmap article doesn't contain any significant details.

Adam. You can't please all the people, all the time, is the appropriate phrase here.

For me, the Cargo Line series is a great point of difference. And whilst a new diesel locomotive would tick a box for many people, its understandable that sometimes that's just not financially viable for a gameplay pack.

I would like to think that you could spruce up the Class 31 for a future Cargo Line release, the model is good but needs work to make it compatible with Livery Creator.

In terms of something new, A class 70 freight pack, maybe COLAS would entertain a license.

I've been pretty negative towards TSW and dovetail recently but just wanted to say this is a DLC I'll definitely be buying so thanks from me for developing it.

I look forward to this pack. The cargo line stuff is cool to see as AI traffic and we finally got a new UK freight loco.

I hope in future it gets RHTT compatibility.

100% looking forward to this LucaZone. Skyhook really has turned things around since MML, excellent content being produced now, love the Cargo Line Series as Mikey_9835 said :)

LucaZone while I didn't care that much for the militar pack (we live in uncertain times and it affects me) and while I wish for an update on the BR187, I will definitely giving this new pack a go.
While I'm not a fan of nuclear power personally, the infrastructure around it is needed and a part of railways in times of peace and other times and I always found those flasks (in Germany we call them Castor) really interesting.

i would also like to see more routes from you guys, if that's something you're still plan to do of course. I understand if that's not a priority at this point and am happy with the content you are producing.

Speaking of routes though: people forget that you did another really interesting route before. Granted, it was TSC, but your Corris Railway with all it's quirky rolling stock (gravity train anyone?) showed what skyhook can do. And something along those lines might be a new niche for TSW for you to try and fill. Short museum route with diesels and battery trains (the steamer could be just out of a boiler ticket and could be revived if that'd ever become a thing again), unique gameplay experience, quirky scenarios, maybe some lawnmowers could play a role, idk.

I see your efforts and I applaud them.
Keep up your good work and keep surprising us!

The unbranded 20 is a weird choice. My best guess is that the DRS license that applied to the 66 has either expired or only applied to that train. A modern Class 20 is appreciated either way, assuming it doesn’t break the things that were so good about the Railfreight one.

The nuclear wagons look well modelled, but the textures are not great. It could do with a bit more weathering.

Adam from Skyhook explained in another thread that the DRS licence does indeed only apply to the class 66

I had several Railtours with DRS class 20s.

When this pack is released I'm looking forward to recreating them.

Regarding the lack of branding,i know its not ideal but i suspect there will be plenty of liveries available for the loco.Im looking forward to this, along with the GWE remaster, but which route will this be playable on,or will it be available on all routes?

From what I've seen, I think it's available on West Coast mainline South, West Coast mainline North, Midland Mainline.

I would have snapped this up had it been a 68. DTG et al seemed to have stopped making new locos.

I was really hoping the Class 68 might be announced as part of TSW 6, as it would have made this pack even more appealing. Don’t get me wrong—I’m definitely looking forward to it—but a Class 68 would have been the perfect complement.

LucaZone Do we have any more update when the Cargoline Volume 5 Nuclear will be released? It was in the 0-3 month stage in June.

It's been moved to a "TBC" release date now. I believe Skyhook encountered some unforseen challenges with the Class 20, plus they are STILL waiting on their Class 158 pack to release, that was submitted to DTG back in MARCH.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the continued interest. Yes, our plan for a May/June/July release with Cargo 3/4/5 didn't work out sadly. We did indeed encounter issues with the Class 20 during final testing with DTG and with the TSW6 launch looming large we took the decision to delay and ensure everything was right before coming back to the table. Cargo Line Nuclear is back with DTG now for a new test regime and we hope to see it ready for launch soon.

We have more and exciting projects in the works and hope to talk about these soon as well.

Skyhook have said on many occasion that creating a train is very expensive, and it would need to come with a route to make it a viable proposition. Skyhook currently do not make routes for TSW, so a 222 would more likely come from someone like DTG themselves.

Devs should make a weathered livery too. Looks like the cl.20 was fresh repainted

It should be better to make new trains and routes, and Not just Cargo Packs

There are what, 10 dev teams now & it’s only Skyhook that make cargo packs.

That’s to say, you get plenty in the way of focus on routes & trains. Skyhook are filling the wide gap that is UK freight, with these packs.

Yeah it's kinda egotistical for DB628 to tell Skyhook what they "should be doing."
They're doing what they want to do and it's working.
Besides demanding the 222 when the 220 was just announced seems a bit selfish too.
Now the good idea would be to ask the people that made the 220 to then work on the 222 since they already have the base model created.

Personally I’m hoping the 222 will be a core release bundle on the MML out of St Pancras anyway, we don’t really have a route that would do it justice as a standalone train release.

But yes, Skyhook are the only ones doing anything with UK freight (other than JT in their routes), I get it’s not everyone’s thing, but at the end of the day a lot of their packs have filled out areas on routes that would otherwise be empty.

Some licenses do not permit weathered (dirty) versions. Also DTG as the developer and publisher of the base game may advise on what might or might not be appropriate especially if the teams are working to secure long term relationships with DRS for instance.

Skyhook has another game under their belt, that forms a large part of their teams resources. The team that work on TSW have specific skills, that are being used to there best to deliver exceptional Cargo Line packs. The current team at Skyhook is not large enough or directly skilled in route-building. They are doing what they do best, well.

If you have route-building skills maybe reach out to Skyhook....

    I mean, it does IMO.

Germany has had various shunters, freight loco packs & wagons included within even routes.
