When you get to the end of a route, are you able to uncouple the loco,go onto another track via points and then back onto the original track, couple up and run the route back to where you came? Does that make sense? Just like they do in reality.
on some routes yes if it is really the end there 2 options run around loc or switch ends depending on the train I am sure someone could make a list of where it could happen
If referring specifically to loco hauled rather than multiple unit trains… Only if those moves are in the timetable. You would need to return to free roam and re board the incoming loco to see what it offers. At some terminal stations e.g. on Spirit Of Steam at Lime Street or Penzance on WCL, a fresh engine will run on top of the arrived train and the incoming loco will only be released when the outward working departs. Same at Blackpool North on the JT route. That could be some time after the arrival of the preceding service. Routes like NTP at both Leeds and Manchester, generally the loco hauled trains don’t terminate but continue to other destinations off map via a portal. Also bear in mind if you do successfully chain a subsequent service or movement, then save your game, there is an unresolved bug where the objective data fails to load back in if you resume later.
