Hi Alan, Hope you are well! Yeah I’ve just bought the route around 15 minutes ago! The attention to detail is great, very colourful detailed route, so Bravo to you and your team! yeah I’ve checked for new updates and there is nothing, so I’m assuming it’s the latest version. I’m currently on 2A93 and the performance issues started as I was leaving Piccadilly when a 87 was coming in, that’s when the stutters started occurring, followed by severe frame rate drops, probably to around 15FPS, followed by blurry textures! So far, performance has been the worse between Piccadilly and longsight! I’m currently at Gatley station in the 323 and so far, no stutters or FPS drops, however the blurry textures are still stuck on the 323 and the scenery. not going to badmouth the route or your team because I’ve been watching you for years and it’s your first TSW route, so not everything will be 100%, but I believe in you guys!
There are still blurred textures on PS5 after the patch too, especially in runs in the morning around 8am, but other runs recently have been fine. I will try turning off the 87 Railtour layer later to see if that makes a difference. - But overall a fun and interesting route that is very nice on the eye!
The more I look at these, speaking as someone who takes the odd graphic design commission, the more I feel obliged to remind people that we're not that expensive, at my hourly rate, I wouldn't get triple digits for delivering decent, convincing versions of these.
I don’t think its mentioned but for tier 2 mastery, none of my class 66 runs counted. I’ve done 2 so far. Aside from this minor thing, I’m enjoying the route. The station modeling is next level.
Experiencing an issue with scenario 5H43 Stockport CS to Alderney Edge Part 1 where the train derails as soon as the scenario loads then fails. Have tried multiple times.
I was also looking at turning off the 87 layer to see if it helps a little. So far I have turned off the 08 layer (don’t know why there is a 08).
DTG Jamie hello Jamie why is there a class 08 layer on this you cant drive and I haven't seen any on the route thanks.
Turning off the railtour layer helped, but didn’t get rid of the blurries entirely. They were alot more subtle though and not as immersion breaking. My test run was 2A93 Part 1 from Piccadilly to the Airport. The blurry textures always start near Mauldeth Road on that run, and pop in and out near the stations.
Seems to be some DEFINITE gaps with the Sunday Timetable such as here at Cheadle Hulme (Platform 3) where there is a MAJOR gap in service. Service frequency across the route just doesn't seem great, both on the weekday and Sunday timetables which whilst i appreciate the effort of two timetables, maybe try and actually complete one timetable rather than do two! Also an issue with the PIS at Stockport showing the departures from Platfrom 3 as opposed to Platform 4. Another one of the info screens on Platform 4 is working correctly but this one is not. Other than those issues, am really enjoying the route! Credit to ATS and the whole team, puts Rivet to utter shame with the scenery and station details being VERY realistic!
I've never been the biggest fan of Scenarios in TSW5 but appreciate the effort for those which do like them
I'm on PC and both the 66 run and scenario I have completed haven't counted towards the tier 2 mastery either. Both were run from journey mode.
Thanks! This has quickly become one of my favourite routes and I've even found myself driving complete services from the cab as I've been fully immersed rather than playing around with external cameras and whatnot so hopefully these problems can be sorted! If anyone is on the fence about this route, give it a go! It blows the socks off of cardiff!
The current update doesn't seem to have actually implemented the track shadows on Steam. Also, in case this was meant by the "lighting improvements", the bridges are still black.
Noticed Constant crashing/freezing issues on PS5 around areas of Longsight and on approach to Stockport from Holmes Chapel. I’ve used the route 4 times and it’s crashed on 3 out of the 4 times.
Good to see you're monitoring the feedback, thanks for one of the best routes so far in TSW in my eyes! Hopefully more to come from ATS.
Couple of gripes, if I may... Station signs using the default UE4 text, yuk! Any chance of realistic fonts? Bird sounds in Piccadilly with it's atmospheric sounds like a village station and not a main City Centre terminus, you may hear the odd coo from the pigeons there IRL but just tweets from little birds with nowt else? Nope! Bridge reverb, please could this be implemented Would of been nice to see landmarks such as Etihad Stadium and Edgeley Park Overall though, enjoying the route, a very good debut release
Not a huge fan of conductor mode, but have been enjoying it on here as it actually works ok, unless experiences on other routes. Checking around 70 tickets between Piccadily and Stockport was stressful. Still had 2 tickets to check when we arrived into the station. Need to run down that train next time!
Doing 4K18 with the class 66 You have a stop at Longsight up&down goods. the hud is stuck on wait for a moment even after signal changes to yellow.
Apparantly, it's very annoying. i found out halfway to Alderly Edge. This is disaster for hudless driving
They are right away indicators so only illuminate RA when RA dispatch is needed I have also noticed the OFF indicator issues
Anyone else having issues completing the Mastery? Whatever I do the Sunday getaway achievement will not complete. PC
So playing Sunday timetable and the scoring system is wrong you cant earn any medals just letting them . To all the trolls out there i dont play for medals im just pointing this out to people who do.
Since the last update when you choose the 66 you only can choose the one version and then the rhtt shows separately. And you can choose any from your collection.
When driving with a Class 390 out of Longsight Depot to Manchester Picadilly, the curve/switch to the mainline is way to sharp. https://maps.app.goo.gl/cLM4AYkufzXZHCjt5
I noticed this last night when I was doing a run into the depot, there’s a very sharp turn there which I knew definitely wasn’t right!
Driving the class 150/2 and wipers do not work no matter what setting you have it on. Anyone else got this problem on xbox x
so after playing with the update there is a few other things I've noticed 66s seem to have the hazard lights on during the night missing neutral sections at slade Lane the 87 doesn't seem to recognise the neutral sections
PC Player - Steam I thought the Day 1 Patch mentioned that track shadows had been added? because they haven't......
Enjoying it so far but encountered a false Morpeth Board AWS magnet activation between Stockport and Cheadle hulme; it was activated as if the 45 mph diverging junction was set, but the straight route was actually set (no speed limit change). Edit: also the Class 323 hud max speed limit should be 90 mph, but it's showing line speed instead.
It’s a decent route. It’s let down though by its length. I really hope Mr Thompson decides to add Crewe. You are just getting into it when it ends, it’s just far too short. This has the potential to be one of the very best routes in TSW, in my opinion.
Steam version I've played a few games. There are some places where there are no overhead lines. At the depot southeast of Piccadilly there are overhead line insulators and frames on the tracks, which is creepy.
Service 5A02 07:14 with the Pendolino on the sunday timetable instantly crashed while loading into it on PS5. Edit: Turns out a lot of the longsight depot moves with the Pendolino instantly crash before you can even get in the driver's seat and not just a specific service. I've tried others and they instantly crash to home screen.
Not sure if this is a core bug or with the route however after I operate a service in guard mode, return to free roam and attempt to operate another service such as the return service, guard mode does not work as intended. While initially it seems it is working, at the first station stop, the tasks bug out and if working from the cab, after the doors close, the train will immediately pull away leaving the guard on the platform and the cab door open which is slightly frustrating being left behind
Probably a core bug as chaining services in Driver doesn’t always show the next working details correctly, even without saving and loading back in.
Just ran 4M93 and for some reason it's routed through Longsight Down Goods loop, not sure if all freight is routed that way but there's no reason for it if we don't have to wait. The 66 also still has the flashing headlight bug on AI trains.
Just noticed the 2 Class 66s DB separately after the update, they should be in the same Class 66 column. Would be nice if they look at it.
Noticed a missing feather on this signal, around Ardwick (just by watching a recent Don Coffey cab ride). All in all though, a great effort signalling wise considering such a complex route to signal.
Noticed a couple of other approach control issues, in addition to the others mentioned earlier... First one at Adswood Road Jn Down Fast to Slow signal (MS4394, south of Stockport), 100 - 60 mph, no approach control, should be flashing yellows? May be worth re-checking all junction signals (a lot, I know!) if a patch is produced, generally if there's a > 10 mph difference, app control is required. Also another, this one at Slade Lane jn, going north to Man,crossover from 75 - 45mph, incorrect sequence I think, prob should be flashing yellows again? Currently in sim it's only double yellow to yellow with feather ( a rare form of approach control).
Have run this route a lot since released as avoiding my current favourite - WCML Preston to Carlisle - until the 86 is released. The problem now is I'm ticking off lots of timetable services - well, those that don't crash on startup like ECS 390s at Longsight. I really do wish the had gone to Crewe and hope they would consider it in the future. I love the 390 services but just as you've got going, they're over. Crewe would mean a good 50-minute run (approx) in the 323 and around 35 minutes in a Pendolino and obviously more freight runs as well. My idea would be to extend it to Crewe in the future and bundle it in with a new EMU - like a 331 - if ATS can bring on someone to build trains, that would be ideal. A longer route and a new EMU to boot.
