So we have route and locomotive proposals, but what about some other rolling stock that could be part of a route or locomotive pack? Such as some unique Freight cars or passenger coaches that haven't made it into the game yet? Here's a few examples of some freight cars I would like to see in game... Articulated Autoracks -2 unit articulated autoracks, I see these every once in awhile, though they are not as common as the normal autoracks. Front Runner Spine Car - These unique Spine cars ran on 2 wheels trucks, which was also their demise, as they performed poorly. Schnabel Wagons -The biggest railcars you'll see on the railroad. These would be great for TS due to the careful handling of these cars. Their slow operating speeds (25mph empty, 15 loaded for WECX 801) would be a unique challenge for the career scenarios (Similar to the Boeing part cars from Stevens Pass) Any other pieces of rolling stock you would like to see in the game?
If you look you will find http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/download-library/rolling-stock-repaints?view=document&id=2322 Peter
How about the 5-unit wellcars? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Well_car) (http://trainiax.net/mephotosearchresults.php?p_mark=DTTX&p_roadnumber=63184)
The Twin Stack is already somewhat available in game with the SD45T-2 pack, but only in SP colors, but would like to see it in different road names. Also some reskins on RWA for these too. http://www.railworksamerica.com/ind...hapag-pacerst&catid=19:rolling-stock-repaints Honestly forgot about this, thanks for the link
Hot metal cars, and slag cars could be cool. The other thing I'd like to see are Roadrailers. Those Schnabel cars, the articulated auto racks, and Front Runners would be awesome, too. Passenger equipment is necessary, too. The UP and NS business trains could be awesome. We also have routes for each of them. We just need the NS F-units, the N&W J-Class #611, and the UP E9 A-B-A set.
We do have Roadrailers as part of the NS C39-8 pack in triple crown colors, but could add other road names such as CN or Amtrak. Some blank white ones would be good too.
I'd like to see a pack of different sorts of tank cars. From the shorty type general service tank cars to the jumbo type liquefied gas tank cars. Plus, different placards and UN numbers.
In general, there is a ton of rolling stock that needs to be added to the game. And it is that reason that inspires many 3rd Party Developers to take action..
Personally, I really want to see other freight car packs on Steam other than the same old recycled junk DTG uses.
Go look on the other US providers if that is what you want Start with Railworks America as they have a number of Free US rolling stock items along with repaints of locos and stock Peter
I'd be satisfied with the JustTrains Cargowaggons and Autoballaster on the Marketplace, so they could be used in Workshop scenarios
There's plenty of third party content out there. The marketplace only places money in DTGs pocket that they haven't earned
What about TankTrain tank cars and 20,000 Gallon ethanol tank cars? Also, I'd like to see crane cars, snowplows, and other maintenance vehicles. The scenarios could be amazing if you could actually operate a crane car or clear snow with a rotary snowplow.
Those welded rail flats are cool. Are each of the rails split into sections or are they one continuous piece?
Here you go my friend: https://railworksamerica.com/index....ain-autoracks&catid=19:rolling-stock-repaints
Well I recall seeing video of a rotary snowplow on the Donner Pass route, but I've been unable to find the video since then. There's also this pack from Just Trains that has two rotary snowplows in it that also has a Steam version, but from what I can gather, the Steam version has a distinct lack of rotary snowplows. Although, it's certainly not the best when it comes to modern day standards for Train Sim textures, but hey, something's better then nothing in this case, right?
Airborne Studios made a freeware package including a lot of railcars including the accordion auto racks. If you aren't keen on installing mods, this probably wouldn't be for you, but if you do, its definitely worth it. The pack can be found here: https://airbournestudios4.wixsite.com/abstudios-rw/freight-car-pack-1
