Hello there, I’m looking for routes in TSW5 where all the locomotives and trains seen on the route’s timetable are included in the base game—no need for extra DLC or AI layers to drive or see them. Does anyone know which routes are fully complete like this? Thanks! Note: They have to be UK based routes. I'm not racist. I just like driving in the UK. It feels like I'm in my home of Ireland. Also no other country does rail travel like the UK/Northern Ireland/ Rep. of Ireland.
You know, you could've just like not included that and nobody would've assumed anything. Now it just looks like you're covering yourself.
I'm not racist though. I just have a preference for UK routes. Still holding out for routes based in Dublin, Ireland. That would really make me feel at home. Ideally Bray to Drogheda. That would be fire.
Why would they assume you are if you don't say anything. There's nothing racist about only liking uk content. Also uk is not a race lol
There's not much. West somerset. The base timetable has all the services. Any other trains sub in and don't add anything Spirit of steam and peak forest i think Isle of wights Gwr base timetable
He's back and he's still frantically waving the banner of Holiday Express like a man with questionable amount of energy drinks in his system.......
You are correct, if you don't care about the 313 and one single railtour, the base ECW timetable has everything you need.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think any of DTG published routes actually needs any additional downloads. To their credit, all routes are immediately driveable. Layers are optional extras.
AFAIK these are all the routes which contain no layers from other routes (Happy to be corrected though): Sand Patch Grade Peninsula Corridor Tees Valley Line Isle of Wight CN Oakville Subdivision Northern Trans-Pennine LGV Méditerranée: Marseille - Avignon Arosa Line Clinchfield Railroad Cane Creek Sherman Hill Harlem Line S-Bahn Zentralschweiz: Luzern - Sursee Horseshoe Curve Liverpool Lime St - Crewe Isle of Wight 2022 Peak Forest Bernina Line
Think the OP was looking only for UK routes, and also routes that don't need a loco add-on for increased playability other than substitutions. SPG, TVL and NTP at least all need loco add-ons.
I would hardly call it rasist if a british or irish person prefers trains from the UK. - I think that is perfectly ok Isle of Wight 2020 and Island Line 2022 are the only UK routes where absolutley no layers or loco DLC‘s are involved. All others have profited from additional content in some way. - Thats not to say they are not fun on their own. Edit: Spirit of Steam is another where no layers or DLC come into it. Not sure about Peak Forest, now that the 104 Pack is off the table again
It kind of depends on what the layers add to the base DLC. On HRR, the layers are necessary to make the route worthwile. Without them, it's way too quiet. SEHS on the other hand is absolutely good enough without layers, they are just a nice extra.
I would call Great Western Express fairly complete without layers. There is only one layer (for 1 train) added afterwards.
This is only true until the remaster (hopefully, finally) comes to pass. Lots of things added with that.
You're right about that, those are added later too. But, GWE has already freight included in te route itself, so not really needed.
This huge spreadsheet shows all layer information: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fVexHITBCNJnjrDROezcr-2TI4EKI8KnSrIwpFHQ2AE/edit?gid=0#gid=0
Goblin ("Sufragette") does quite well on it's own. If you own Goblin then the North London Line ("Mildmay") is pretty much sorted, too. East Coast Mainline does quite well as the only thing missing is the 700 at Peterborough, 323 at Doncaster and the 158 services at the Southern end - also Flying Scotsman but that is a bonus anyway. WCMLS has basically nothing by way of layers other than the 710, without which you'll have a dead Watford DC line from Euston to Queens Park and from Harrow & Wealdstone to Watford, but the 390*, 350, 1972ts and 377 do fine. *If you buy WCML, assuming you don't own it - get the 390 if you can. It's essential. Cardiff is fine because the only layers are AI in a small area and depot runs. GWE is fine, the only layers there are the Cargo Line ones. Brighton Mainline is fine without layers (and will probably run better...), the only things missing would be some freight runs, the 375 diversions (irregular services anyway), Southeastern AI at Victoria and GWR shuttles from Reigate to Gatwick. Northern Trans-Pennine, Tees Valley Line and West Somerset all do fine on their own but the related DLCs enhance them. Blackpool Branches and WCML: Over Shap do well on their own, too. Midland Mainline and Birmingham Cross City don't see many layers, ROG and Freight mostly plus some ECS. West Cornwall, East Coastway, Peak Forest, Spirit of Steam, Bakerloo Line and Glossop Line have none anyway (or, if they do, it's a couple of services) so lack of layers makes no difference. I'm not counting Loco DLCs for those routes here. Southeastern Highspeed is more than fine with no layers, only losing EMT at St. Pancras (which, owing to the lighting there, you have to look directly at to see half the time) and the fictional TGV/ICE layers. The only routes I'd say need layers: Cathcart Circle (380, 385, 390 + 158, 170, 350 a bit more optional), Edinburgh Glasgow (158 for it's timetable) and Manchester Airport Commuter (390, 350, 158 (both)) and Mildmay Line (710 primarily, as mentioned.)
You can drive the CCL with the original timetable and just the 314 but it's extremely dead and empty and the 380 timetable not only adds the loco but a tonne of services. It's not strictly required but imo it kinda should be.
