I don't know what's more annoying: A new TSW every year, or people jumping forward to TSW7 when TSW6 has only just been announced. It won't even be released for a couple of months at least yet.
well gota add my speculations too i guess UK to Aus Hyperloop, powered by a modified fusion powered class 66 World peace and finally we all get honest politicians (more of a wish me thinks)
"the Russian treatment"? Russian routes have never been in TSC or TSW. Possibly because the countryside is depressingly flat and featureless and most cities are hundreds of miles apart so making for a very dull drive. Plus, how would a TSW content maker get source material if the UK Government's advice is to not travel there?
Find workarounds, even at the cost of quality. Not to mention DTG has alot of references they can work with from previous trips.
And it's about this point you have just slapped yourself in the face, the answer you have just given proved your post before this one was complete rubbish. TSW is the bloody highway and every platform that supports the game are the cars, we all fit happily.........
Probably just as annoying is people saying there won't be a TSW(insert next number from current release) as they haven't fixed everything in the current one!!
That could work too! I think that should be the name eventually, after we’ve used up all the numbered editions. TSW10 could be the last one then it’s time for classic
I do think a fair number of you are missing the joke here, that DTG have become so predictable in releasing a new TSW every year now that we should skip the excitement at the prospect of TSW6 and speculate what we will be offered in TSW7 - or at least that's how I'm seeing it. My predictions will be another one handed London centric bus route with an EMU that is as bland and faceless as the rest of the current batch, probably something in Germany that starts in the middle of nowhere and ends in the middle of nowhere with some overly complicated modern locomotive and for the third route I'll think of something outside the box, a Spanish or Portuguese metro route that's driven one handed in a generic looking EMU... Oh and lots of promises which are never delivered but instead pushed back to TSW8 and finally releasing in TSW12...
We might finally get the Fife Circle 158 timetable that DTG have been allegedly sitting on for the last 4+ months...
No need to boycott U.S content. We’re lucky to get one route a year at this point. Don’t worry chap, they’ll continue to make short boring U.K route for you guys who can’t sit still for more than 10 minutes.
You may joke but I have wanted the Disneyworld Monorail in TSW for years, when I visited as a nipper back in 1993 it was my second favourite ride (after the Delta Dreamflight). Sadly, Disney will never give out a license for that
*TSW6 Released* people are asking for more underground lines like the jubilee line (most requested) and some are asking for the Subsurface lines and the Piccadilly lines
My posts always age badly. The US NE Corridor route announced is one of the few long US routes I'd like and I'll probably buy and we finally have a long UK route coming, albeit on the WCML again. As for sitting still for more than 10 minutes, I'm very good at that, but I don't like slow routes and freight isn't my thing, hence me not being very interested in the US rail scene.
I did wonder if Matt’s reference to liking Kicking Horse and Roger’s Pass buried in the recent Discord Q&A could herald a new Canadian route is on the cards? It would certainly be a crowd pleaser compared to the drab NE commuter runs. Though to do it justice should be set back when VIA still ran the Canadian thataway, rather than just CP freight. Alternative would be a more modern route with, subject to licensing, the Rocky Mountaineer as additional DLC.
While I am VERY excited for New York - Stamford, it’s not very long if you do an end to end service. I’d love a “long” section of the corridor, likeNew York - New Haven (featured in TSC). The U.K folks now have 3/4th of the WCML. Something like that would be AMAZING for the US.
How about Thomas on some other bit of the WCML not yet released. (Unless, of course, sales of the WSR version have 'tanked' ).
I may as well throw in my theory and reopen this thread for the public eye. Since we are nearing that time of year again My prediction for the TSW7 route is Airedale and Wharfdale Lines Reason; this not only expands the Northern scene in TSW, but it also opens up a wide range of future routes from Leeds. Plus, this opens up a potential deluxe edition loco with a 331.
It looks quite interesting with the route branching off to Ilkley and BFS. A 331 as the deluxe edition loco would be a bit depressing though, maybe a 91 (although I think it would only run between Leeds and BFS, but could layer onto the ECML route).
This would be a fantastic route. Have been wanting to see Keighley Oxenhope branch in the game with Skipton to Bradford or Leeds. I hope you are right. Because of all the continuing reinstalling of a full complement of products every year l have decided that TSW6 will be my last, but if someone like this excites me, l could reconsider my decision.
Oh I’ll probably still go to TSW7 if the free update is a thing again, mainly because TSW6 will be abandoned at that point if not before. What I won’t be doing is jumping in with both feet to get the content pack. Last year’s turned out a tad disappointing even Riviera Line I didn’t play much as I thought mainly due to the ultra modern era. Now if the TSW7 UK route was something out of Inverness in 1978, I might reconsider the strategy. But it’s almost certain to be a bland flat A to B run with one handle near quiet trains.
Seems like an alright shout. I like the look of the class 333 units that run the line. There's also that Northern 158 that was supposed to be on one of the roadmaps but then wasn't; it could run on here as well.
i’m likely to just get the free starter pack, i’ve been buying deluxe every year just to get early access but i didn’t really get my moneys worth with the tsw6 core routes so im going to be more cautious this time. i’ve also got little faith that tsw7 won’t be a blur fest so voting with my wallet is probably the only option
glad it’s not just me thinking along those lines. If enough of us do it too it’ll hopefully send a message. I won’t hold my breath on either front
Honestly, I'm another one who'll just claim the free starter pack, mostly just so I don't get cut off from updates to content I already own. As for what route itself? Probably something from a London Terminal again (since tsw 3, 3 and 5 have had one, 4 and 6 have had trains to London, even if London isn't in the route). Either that or the Wherry Lines after that person working on them in editor stopped due to suspecting official work is being done on them. (actually if initial reports as to blurs are positive, maybe I would buy the uk route and loco)
…was thinking a good ‘companion’ DLC for JT’s latest offering would be Warrington BQ - Chester (18 miles, Class 45’s on N. Wales passenger) plus Crewe to Llandudno Jct. (65 miles, Class 33/Mk1’s on same) plus loads of freight opportunities and notable landscape features…Weaver Viaduct, Beeston Castle, Roodee Viaduct, Conway Castle etc.
I feel exactly the same way; I’ve bought the Deluxe version every year. And with TSW6, that was the biggest mistake I made. I think if a standard Swiss route were included, I’d buy the Deluxe version again, but as that’s never going to happen anyway, I’ll probably just go for the free upgrade.
We still didn't receive the survey from dtg Ith what we would like to have in the next game. Maybe no tsw7 Well why a new game if the current one is always half finished
In my opinion, DTG should continue with this method (tsw 7-8-9÷1354). Although the "original" clientele has figured out the trick and is gradually drifting away, this numbered issue is an excellent way to snag new customers who are unaware of the mess they're getting themselves into...
