Brake selector issue will look into The TDM is mainly for the BSO Communication rather than working in multiple JT has said they haven't got the sounds for the Vestible doors, but if they do get any will look to change them.
Can't progress the Class 86/2 tutorial: "Set and hold the Train Brake in the release/overcharge position" Been waiting 5 min and the prompt won't clear. Brakes are def released, i can move the train freely. Platform is PC/Steam
I checked the bogie, but the Wheels of the Class 86 are not aligned with the axle box, thereby the bogie bolster is sitting to low. Just tested: When coupled with a Class87, the Class86 is also a little bit lower.
Yes I put that in my initial feedback post. Was this even tested? All the warts are now coming out, still a good add on but looking more 7/10 than the 9.999/10 we had hoped for.
Oh that happened. It was amazing how sets got cobbled together sometimes, especially on a cross country service, like those that split/joined at Carstairs. Anyone with OCD would not enjoy those formations as you'd have a first class coach and a brake coach in both halves of the train!
Have you tried overcharging the brakes by holding it in overcharge? I was also stuck here for a moment but it cleared after i manually pulled into overcharge and waited a couple of seconds. Cheers
Keep in mind that plastic yellows over time, so the colour in your photographs in unlikely to be what it was back then. It's not an issue specific to Mark 2s in the real world; I've noticed it on the older Class 375s as well.
Already tried that several times. I mean yes it's only the once around the TC nonsense, but you need to clear it towards the Journey Mode completion. In all fairness, that's not really it though. The whole shade of blue thing is completely wrong for the interiors. They were always a light cream/magnolia colour as the images show. I didn't get a chance to check on a run with different weather conditions, but this so far as I'm aware is the only rolling stock that has this issue so it must be down to either the material properties or texturing.
Thank you much appreciated Jamie. I done another run earlier this evening to make sure what I experienced was certain, and had the same issue with all but one of the neutral sections upto Carlisle (the neutral section that I didn't have an issue with was the 1st neutral section going north just outside of Preston, the rest did not operate as intended). I repeated a return run south to Preston in the Class 87, and had no issues what so ever with any of the neutral sections and they operated as intended and perfectly normal. I run the the tap changer down well in advance of the neutral section, and it is in the 'off' position upon entering the neutral section too, but the current doesn't return and nor does the current light system in the cab. I am on PS5 and see some others aren't having the same issues on the same platform, but I've gone over it again and can say with certainty it's definitely not working as intended on my end. So it's a odd situation! Overall though this is a very minor set back that is easily resolvable in the game for now. I'm very impressed with the Class 86 and can see how much hard work has gone into it and the accompanying rolling stock, so well done to JT as always and I really look forward to seeing both the 86, 87, and Mk2F and Mk3 rakes used in future routes!
It seems my Raildriver doesn't work with this? I know that was initially an issue with the Class 87 as well, so hopefully it's just an oversight.
I'm glad the locomotive is here but you have to speak with armstrong powerhouse because your default sound set is way off. It should sound and feel morelike this. https://www.armstrongpowerhouse.com/class_86_enhancement_pack?search=86 Also please consider having a driving tutorial that takes it from "cold and dark" angle with just a solo unit
Thank you to Just Trains for this beautiful model, which I bought as soon as it came out! One question: As a Frenchman, I noticed that the tutorial was not in French, which is generally the case for other materials. Are you planning to change this to make it easier to understand? Thank you again.
Yes I had a look in external view continuing my drive yesterday evening and it does seem the bogie and wheels are not matched together. In fact, the bottom bar on the frame looked as if it was just above or even scraping the rail head. Got to be honest, this is a pretty major oops and again amazed it wasn’t picked up by the modeller themselves, let alone in QA. The question now is, how much work is needed to rectify the issue? Could it be the whole 3D model will need to be reworked to correct the discrepancy or can the child objects simply be realigned to fix it. It really is such a shame that this eagerly awaited pack is now revealing so many little faults. Don’t really want to hit the refund button, but kind of hard to justify the £20 price tag with all this going on and I expected slightly better from JT at that cost level.
The real thing appears to have the lower metalwork fairly flush with the bottom of the cab steps. The JT model appears somewhat lower.
Hi JT, apologies. Just user error. Had some sounds overlapping. That does sound good, AP's work is present.
Yes sounds are good as is the cab, main issue with sounds are continuing performance issues with the occasional hitching and distortion or squelch. I mean this was evident in Tom's stream to some extent. However really one for DTG to sort, they need to isolate sound playback from the graphics stutter.
I can also verify this is happening on my end as well. The game itself is not the most optimised out of the series.
People mentioning the lower bogie, if you scroll back, the reason has been found. It needs JT to fix it. But so far no response from JT or DTG despite their presence in here and having answered other queries. Come on guys, at least acknowledge it.
I've also discovered that I cannot access repaints of the Class 86 in Scenario Planner. For example, if I want to add a Class 86/2 + 6 MK2F Coaches to Camden Carriage Sidings, I get choices for the coach liveries (which is very good) but not for the locomotive. I have repaints in both the BR Blue and BR Blue RCH versions. The pic below shows repainted coaches (easy to spot colours!) but the 86 in default livery Edit: I can add repainted 86s, but only via Formation Designer!
The headlight and cable clips on the nose end of the RCH 86 will not repaint. Edit - Oh that's weird! I just went into Livery Designer to check I had the yellow panel far enough across to paint the headlight and guess what? There is NO headlight on the nose end of the RCH 86 in Livery Designer!
Seems the core platform issue to do with dying windscreen wipers hasn't been fixed - just had them die on me pulling into Oxenholme on the Helping Hand scenario - I was just braking at the time, seems I broke the wipers too
Overall, I'm very happy with the DLC, but it's not perfect. I'm disappointed that there's only the two Livery Designer models; one with RCH/TDM cabling and one without (the former doesn't have Headlights in LD, but gains them when spawned in the game. I'd have preferred separate models: 1. Stone-Faiveley; no HiVi Headlights and no RCH/TDM. 2. Stone-Faiveley; HiVi Headlights, but no RCH/TDM. 3. Stone-Faiveley; no HiVi Headlights, but RCH/TDM. 4. Stone-Faiveley; HiVi Headlights and RCH/TDM. 5. Brecknell-Willis; no HiVi Headlights and no RCH/TDM. 6. Brecknell-Willis; HiVi Headlights, but no RCH/TDM. 7. Brecknell-Willis; no HiVi Headlights, but RCH/TDM. 8. Brecknell-Willis; HiVi Headlights and RCH/TDM. My only other complaint, is the dynamic numbering on the Livery Designer mark 2f coach models; something I've noted other creators have pointed out. EDIT: I've just noticed that the coach reskins can't be added in Formation Designer.
1. In machine room you can move camera viewpoint through the walls so that you see not what is behind that wall, but outside the loco. IMHO same on 87 and Pacer, too. 2. After trying to recover from failure situation (probably power on during neutral section) got into situation when I lowered pantograph, but was not able to raise it. After resetting physics it was up, but not able to open doors to machine room. If go outside loco and enter other cab then can open other machine room doors, but primary cab doors are not openable even from other side 3. Pressing controller stick to activate external camera always shows you end of train not just outside the loco. Need extra button press to jump to front of consist. This was same on class 87, too. Xbox Series X
Apologies if already mentioned but Ctrl-0 to drop back in the cab after wandering around (checking the Mk2F's on my next run which still have incorrect blue shaded walls, partitions and bulkheads) put me back in the rear cab, not the leading one.
Thank you @ RobWoods. That did sort it. I wonder why the yellow layer I used for the front did not cover it? Could it be because I place it from the side, not the front?
Beginning to wonder if this (bogie height/wheels out of centre) has been pushed into the too difficult box. For all we know, this might have been the issue that caused the release delay and after realising the whole model would need rejigging i.e. virtually building from scratch, it was decided to publish anyway. Probably my tinfoil hat in overdrive again but have to wonder why there's been no comment from JT or DTG to acknowledge as a fault, let alone offer hope of a fix. Reminds me of the EMU's on Harlem and LIRR where the obstacle deflector (pilot) at the end of the set was rubbing into the rail head, but never got fixed.
It's been added to the same problem pile as "Restoring the sounds of the class 170 on Fife circle so the train actually sounds like a train just like it did on launch when I bought it and not leaving me with a product which is now more broken than when I bought it" So expect everyone at DTG to ignore it and any posts about it just like they do with that problem.
Except this is JT not Rivet so would hope they have a longer term view than fire and forget! Anyhow the good news is, firing the 86 up again to continue my southbound run, doesn’t seem so juddery as yesterday evening. Maybe DISM was interfering, also I had just updated my Nvidia drivers so not sure if that requires the route to refresh the shaders.
Good point! Forgot about that! anyway to get back on topic and on track, so far I've really enjoyed the 86!
Yes from the cab it’s a nice loco to drive, which is why I’ve stuck with it and not r……d it (plus I couldn’t hold my head up in the forum after my appeals for a RMB!). But nevertheless, all those issues should be getting looked at it to fix the complete aesthetic package.
Hmmm....that's the second mention of RailDriver not working. I asked whether it worked on the Q&A prior to release and they confirmed that it did. Has anyone else experienced RailDriver working or not working with the 86, please? I'm holding off on buying until I know for sure, as RailDriver adds massively to the experience with tap changers.
It's not a good look for DTG or JT. It is starting to feel like this was the reason for the delay because unless the testers are rubbish at their role, it shouldn't have got past them. For me, it's one of those once you see it, you can't unsee it situations. And the lack of acknowledgment shows a lack of respect from both JT and DTG, plus it's bad from a PR perspective. And we know they're reading these comments because they've responded to others here. I like the 86, I really do, I wanted it for a long time and love almost everything about it, but the feedback being ignored is making me wary about buying ANYTHING in the future.
apparently the raildriver works on some variants, some of the blue ones, but not all. the implementation is a bit annoying though, you can’t hold the throttle lever in run up, it keeps going back to notch up. There’s a mod that works with the Class 87 that implements the tap system much better.
