Hello Dovetail Team, For the Würzburg–Nürnberg route (RE 10 Mainfrankenbahn), I would love to see a modern and realistic regional train added to Train Sim World that perfectly suits the line: New Regional Train: Alstom Coradia Continental (BR 440) as the primary train for regional services Alternatively, a newly modeled modern 3- or 4-car electric multiple unit with up-to-date design and realistic performance for local traffic Features: comfortable, quick acceleration, realistic doors and announcements, ideal for the many stops on this route New High-Speed Train: ICE 4 (BR 412) as the modern high-speed train for the optional high-speed line Würzburg–Nürnberg (SFS) Realistic top speed up to 250–280 km/h, with LZB support Authentic interior, driving dynamics, and sounds Why these trains? The BR 440 is the actual regional train on the Mainfrankenbahn, making it a must-have for authentic operation. The ICE 4 is currently the newest ICE class and perfectly complements the high-speed line for fast, exciting journeys. Together, they offer diverse scenarios between relaxed regional trips and high-speed travel. Scenario ideas: “Morning RE 10” – drive the modern regional train with all stops from Würzburg to Nürnberg “ICE 4 Sprint” – full speed on the high-speed line in under 30 minutes “Commuter Transfer” – coordinating RE and ICE arrivals at Würzburg Hbf “Delay Management” – handling diversions and tight schedules I really hope you include these trains in TSW6 to bring the Würzburg–Nürnberg route to life authentically! Hmm, interesting idea. I'm quite torn about it though. Pro: -It would bring Nürnberg Hbf to TSW, which is one of Bavaria's most important and busy stations (I'd aruge it's second only to München Hbf) -The route is partly equipped with LZB, and the PZB parts include a bunch of speed limit changes, making driving more interesting. -The 440 and ICE 4 are quite common vehicles and could be used on a bunch of other routes. -It would add another route to the route hopping connection, allowing people to go from Nürnberg all the way to Koblenz if they feel like it Contra: -The character of the route (length, scenery, "feeling") is very, VERY similar to Frankfurt-Fulda. I'd even go so far that some people might choose to only buy one of them. -Personal opinion: I think we've reached a point in German content where we're oversaturated with two-track electrified main routes. Something fresh and different would be needed to keep people interested. -Creating a new EMU is a lot of work, and the request includes two (one of them an ICE no less). This will probably lead to a long development time, and/or a rather expensive DLC. -The Nürnberg/Fürth area might run into similar performance problems as the Frankfurt/Hanau area does.
I agree and looking at it looks like we can go all the way from the Rhine down to Nürnberg Hbf via Fulda. I wonder if overnight trains go this way between Munich origin Innsbruck Hamburg via Braunschweig where it meets the Amsterdam to Berlin main line.
