when will a fix for class 170 running sound issue (it's not just a bug, it's a real issue) be available? I was considering buying fife circle today because of tsw steam sale, but after hearing about this issue, I decided to buy another dlc (at least until they fix this)
Don't buy it. Dovetail and rivet have shown no interest in fixing or even responding to any posts or comments about it. If I'd have known they'd be broken a few months after I'd bought it I wouldn't have bought it either.
I won't buy it unless I'm told (by someone who owns fife circle) that it's properly fixed (and I might still need video proof )
Is it case for either rivet or dtg to approach ScotRail and ask to record the sounds, or are they able to use existing sound files from other sources?
It had the sounds originally, then an update broke it, and it was never fixed. Hopefully it gets fixed when the wmr and xc ones gets added, although someone speculated in the "where is the 158 for Fife Circle?" thread yesterday that maybe a patch for the route is coming, and that's why the timetable is being sat on
Either way, I suppose it doesn't really matter when the 158 timetable does come because you can just drive that instead
It does matter. I bought the dlc when the 170 sounded fine, dtg pushed out an update which broke the 170 so it no longer sounds anything like a train. They'e since ignored all messages posted about it in the feedback thread and only this week moved a thread about the 170 running sounds from general discussion to the issues subforum without even bothering to comment so whilst they're definitely aware of the issue, they're not responding at all. I'm not going to buy more dlc to fix something which worked when I first bought it if they haven't even got the common decency to acknowledge there's a problem, let alone fix it. They'll probably move this thread to the issues forum or merge it with the other thread without responding shortly too.
Well they eventually half fixed the broken 1938 stock sounds on Bakerloo but that took a persistent campaign and a couple of years to achieve. I’m really at a loss to understand why DTG continue to use or do business with Rivet when their products and after sales display such contempt for their customers.
Unsurprisingly as I predicted above, someone at dtg has moved this thread so get again they're aware of the problem and choosing to ignore it because still no response.
Well, I guess it's not being ignored no longer. (It was confirmed fixed for the wmr and xc ones and the scotrail one will also be fixed in a future patch)
“Future Patch” does not exactly fill me with confidence and will probably come after TSW6 lands, meaning anyone deciding to stay with an older version won’t get it.
