Just got around to trying out the Class 86 recently, though one thing has been nagging at me.

High-intensity headlamps. Some will know by now that the HI lights on these locos appears at random when spawning in most of the time, but I couldn't help but notice that any 86 with the headlamp, when spawned in, has a millisecond delay. This led me to ponder something.............

Are the high-intensity headlamps toggleable? And what I mean by that is, can they be taken on and off directly like some Trainz loco models could, in a sense that the headlamp can be attached and detached respectively?

Not toggleable, and I don't think they're random exactly - 86233 for example will never have one, 86225 will always have its unique one ect. I believe it assigns a lamp to a unit based on whether or not that specific number had a lamp equipped in 1986, the same with the handful of locos that have the 87's pantograph type. That said, I believe the split second delay you're noticing might be the game loading in those meshes on top of the base model once it has assigned the loco number, something we haven't seen the game doing before as prior locos were just all identical across all units save for maybe the addition of nameplates on 47s and Jubilees.
