I appreciate that this probably requires extra work however it can add so much more to routes for gen 8 players and not make us feel like we've wasted money. The best example to demonstrate my suggestion has already been done on Preston Carlisle where we have separate timetables for 87 services, 86 services, DMU services and freight services. It's great that I can still play these services even though it's not all in one timetable. I think this is better than spawning a train on free roam because you get the satisfaction of earning action points and the destinations are already set up. For someone who enjoys timetable mode the most being able to complete actual timetable services is better than just spawning in the train. It would be great if similar things could be done on other routes where certain trains are not utilised in the default timetable such as freight, Watford dc, Bakerloo line and 377 services on WCMLS, freight services and DB vectron services on Frankfurt fulda and other routes where creating a separate timetable can be justified by a comprehensive enough service pattern and also that they don't cause too many memory issues.
You do realise gen 8 like 12 years old now and gen 9 is about 5 years old, basically gen 8 will most likely be dropped in tsw 7 making this kinda pointless. also to add they tell you what you get timetable for gen 8 so you’re kinda wasting your own money. sorry if this came off slightly mean
I'm sorry if this sounds personal, but you've had five years to buy Gen9 or a PC, especially since many new games have dropped Gen8 support. Considering that most of the new add-ons already have plenty of cut content on those and some don't even release there, the fact that TSW6 is supposed to still launch on gen8 is a great disappointment. More and more players will be disappointed by the fact that, even though the game was released on Gen8, most of the content no longer supports it, while PC and Gen9 players will be disappointed by the fact that they can't unlock TSW's full potential due to the core being Gen8-limited.
I forgot which thread it was in, but Matt put a whole paragraph explaining why Gen 8 isn't holding anything back, and dropping it would only benefit them by cutting costs associated with it, without benefitting players at all
