A longer route for TSW6 or any TSW games after would be the Oregon trunk subdivision in Oregon. What I think would be to start the route In BNSF’s Klamath falls yard and end the route in Portland Oregon. Towns that would be along the route would be Klamath falls, Chemult ,mid to low quality version of Chiloquin, La Pine, some of Sunriver, Bend, Deschutes ,Redmond, Terrebonne, Culver, Metolius, madras, the route will snake along the deshutes river pass maupin, then will continue to snake along the deshutes river and then it goes left and then goes on the Oregon trunk bridge over the Columbia river into Washington where it goes north to Portland. Bend and Redmond have some industries, two or three of them are propane I believe. You could do switching at these locations Areas that I think must be included is lava, Cascan, and the bend depot. Lava would look very scenic because it cuts right through a huge are that is covered in lava rock that was there because of the Newberry volcano. Cascan would be a good place to have because it is a small to medium sized switchyard that has a total of 5 tracks and players could do road switching here and if they want to, set out or drop off cars. The depot is a great place because it has what could be considered a yard where you could have meet and set out and pickup cars (meets would also be done at Cascan). Another place that would be perfect for switching is the grain elevator in madras because you have the grain elevator it’s self and to the east of the elevator is two other industries that you can switch. 1st location 2nd location 3rd location 4th location 5th location Now for the Portland area the Main yard would be Lake yard and the intermodal facility, Willbridge yard for tank cars, and then there will be a auto rack yard for Toyota vehicles, then there will be a grain elevator, scrap yard. There is also a whole separate section right next to the first set of industries. location 1B: Location 2B: Location 3B: Location 4B: location 5B: Locomotives: For locomotives I would add the EMD GP39-3 (BNSF 2634 for example) and it would be the rebuilt version, it’s paint scheme would be H4 or the Santa fe livery. The second locomotive I would include is GE C44-9W available in H1 and H2 paint schemes and also the fakebonnet livery. I understand that the route isn’t just the Oregon trunk but the way the subdivision is, Klamath falls-Portland and Portland-Klamath falls is the best way to do it because booth towns have medium to large sized yards. But an alternative could be start the route in La pine heading north and start in Portland heading south and still having all those industries in Portland that players could still work in. The types of trains I would like to have on this route are manifest, autorack, baretable intermodal, grain, tanker, maybe TOFC but I’ve only seen them once. And in manifest train there could be pressure differential cars and gondolas carrying scrap. There could also be a military train carrying a variety of military equipment like tanks, JLTVS, Humvees, HEMMTS, and Bradly’s. There would be no double stack intermodal trains due to low tunnel highs along the Deschutes river. One more thing is that train priority could be added so if there was a train that was a higher priority than your train you would have to go into the siding and let the train pass, if you were the higher priority train it would be the opposite.
Correction: where I said the route crosses the Oregon trunk bridge and into Washington is not the case, where is actually goes is west to Portland my bad.
