Does anyone out there know of any companies or people working on any of the Aventra family of trains? The Aventra family of trains is growing across the UK's rail network and I personally would love to drive them in TS Classic. There are so many different TS Classic routes that would benefit from the Aventras: Class 345 (Elizabeth Line) - Western Mainlines Electrification Project / GEML / GEMMA Class 701 (SWR) - Portsmouth Direct Line Class 710 (Overground) - WCML South / North London and GOBLIN Lines Class 720 (Greater Anglia/C2C) - GEML / GEMMA Class 730 (West Midlands Railway/London Northwestern Railway) - WCML South / Birmingham Cross City Line / WCML Trent Valley / WCML Midlands and North West With trains such as the Class 700, Class 745 and the recently announced Class 195 from Wrightline Sim, I would love to think that the Aventras are not too far away! If anyone knows of any rumours or anything in the pipeline I would be really excited to hear about this. I'd also love to hear anyone else thoughts on this!
Definitely Would Be nice to See a modern GWML on steam with the 345's Or a Modern SWML with the 701's
One of the first things I came looking for after my weekend adventures of switching to TSC was to see if there were any Aventra class's in the game, shame we haven't seen any in the sim as yet but one can only hope.. I don't have the AP Flirts as yet but would be nice to see the 720s to complete that fleet...Well all class's would be a welcome addition since all lines that they run on are basically in the game
ATS have said a couple of promising things about Class 720 Aventras. A couple of years ago I asked Alan if they had any plans to make a 720 for their updated GEML pack and he said "One day hopefully, it's on the list". More recently he's said that they were making an AI only 720 for the time being. That was about a year ago when the first Stadler Flirt pack was released. So an AI one is definitely on the way from ATS, whether they will add further functionality down the road/track is unknown at this time. One other hope is that I've seen screenshots of a TSC Class 720 cab from a different developer who appears to be making units for the C2C line that's been in development for some 10-15 years. One would hope one of these projects makes it to release but I do worry that unless someone like Armstrong Powerhouse picked this up, then it's unlikely we'll see anything in the immediate future.
Im actually surprised no one has done any liveries or slight mod to the 745 + 755 for the TFW 231 + 756s respectively since both units have a very similar look, would open up some ops on the South Wales lines
