Ok, hear me out. I've got a wild theory, probably from not sleeping enough. So, the 200th anniversary of trains is officially on 27th September this year. And speculation is that TSW6 is landing at the end of September. Interesting, right? In the stream somewhere when they announced TSW6 they said there are some big surprises coming up. Now, I know they have some sponsorship/deals with Thomas ready for his 80th anniversary, and they have done a heritage line before, but.....Could there be another type of sponsorship/heritage coming up that would be perfect for the 200th Anniversary? Could we possibly see a recreation of the Stockton & Darlington Railway circa 1825 as a route? It would be super easy, as the rivet counters cant argue over accuracy, or correct boiler physics this time, as it would be pure speculation. It would be historically significant too and in all honesty, utterly fascinating. It could even end up being a teaching aid and appeal to a wide range of typically non gamers. So, just my sleep deprived brain, or could we really, really see that? *all my fingers crossed
No not a coincidence, namely because this is the sodding sixth version of the game. Now if it was number one version I'd have thought you might have been on to something.........
If it has anything to do with it, the most likely content will be a UK route, which will include a 66 with one of the railway200 liveries.
Well, didn't we got a new TSW in September last year too? Oh and TSW3 and TSW4 are also released in September btw.
As I noted in another thread, it will be TVL extended 2 miles to Stockton and a “special” timetable with Locomotion and carriages similar to the Thomas caper on WSR.
Well I've heard that it's actually going to be called TSW66 and the 'package' is going to launch with 200 of the buggers (Remember you heard it here first ).
I wouldn't call it a coincidence since a new tsw launches every year, but I do hope dtg do something in regards to rail 200. What they'd do though, I have no idea.
Thing is a lot of the issues complained about ain't "They miscounted rivets", it's more fundamental issues like foliage density, or poorly blended ballest. Most relevant to this conversation is steam simulation, which is in a completely horrid state. It is particularly sad to me that the cut-off/reverser behavior on the Jurassic era Somerset & Dorset engines feels more refined than that of the "latest and greatest" in TSW. That sort of stuff doesn't need a "rivet counter" mindset to spot, and if DTG don't do anything to refine steam's behavior than they will get backlash for it.
And I'm sure that TSW6 can only have British/Scottish/Welsh content this time around) (in honor of Rail 200)
Surely you mean English rather than British How about this? 1) England - Isle of Sodor. 2) Scottish - NEW Mc Chuggington. 3) Wales - Valley of Ivor. 4) NI - Gets forgotten as usual. Sound like a winner to me
Speaking about bugs, I just did a few services on Koln - Aachen, the BR101 has a plopping sound at low speed, on the BR425 the PIS is black on AI trains because the correct service is missing in the list of services. On a RE service coming in on Koln HBF, only the the dosto cabcar has working PIS, the other coaches do have black PIS. The same train is leaving Koln HBF, all PIS screens are working. A BR425 is leaving the station without a driver in the cab. The BR423 still has Munchen on the lower end of the train. Just a few, not game breaking, bugs I noticed while playing the game for 1 hour. I don't think those bugs are hard to fix, but it looks like they don't like to put any effort in it to fix.
I see some people are misunderstanding what a coincidence is. A coincidence is when two unrelated things happen at the same time so it is a coincidence that TSW6 will be releasing at the same time as the Rail 200 anniversary thing happens because it releases at that time every year. Because it is a coincidence it means it isn’t planned to occur at the same time. If it was planned to release at the same time it wouldn’t be what we call a coincidence. I hope that clears that up. It’s a different story as to whether DTG plan to celebrate Rail 200 with some vintage content but that could mean anything from the 200 years of railways and not necessarily something from the very early days.
Surely the most apt option for Railway 200 would be to remaster and extend TVL to Bishop Auckland with Locomotion in a story-based set of scenarios like Thomas' pack. Brings an old route back to life, more or less covers the original railway and allows it's story to be re-told in-game, and would probably the best tribute imaginable. Not my favourite pick for the UK route but if being picked on the criteria of R200 then so be it.
Well Sept. 27 is a Saturday, so not likely to be the TSW6 launch day. More importantly, it's National Chocolate Milk Day, at least here in the US and I'll be celebrating that and will have to pass on R200 unfortunately. That's OK actually because over here we celebrate R200 on May 24, 2030, 200 years after the B&O ran the first steam hauled passenger train. Old as I am, I plan to be around for that. But will TSW11?
And it should also go the short distance round the corner to Stockton, a surprising omission on the original.
With TSW steam being problematic, it might be easier to make S&D a passenger run with horses. Would Simugraph work with horses?
You did not state that the end of that sentence "summed it up perfectly". You stated that the first sentence "summed it up perfectly". The first sentence is "Ok, hear me out." You may have meant to write that about the second sentence.
People can come up with many conspiracies about what DTG will do around Rail200... But, I think some people may fall into the trap of placing expectations of their own about Rail200 onto DTG and then feel disappointed when said expectations do not happen. Just pace yourselves... I certainly think we may get some Rail200 inspired content, but don't think you'll be getting Christmas all come at once!
If there is to be a commemorative Stockton Darlington route for TSW, who would build Locomotion since DTG isn't making steam locos any more. Perhaps they could make some horses to pull the rolling stock, which would of course be accurate for passenger trips. I mean they haven't said they're not building horses anymore, have they?
Asking ChatGPT what a sentence is: A sentence is a group of words that: Expresses a complete thought, and Contains a subject and a predicate (at minimum). Basic Structure: Subject: Who or what the sentence is about Predicate: What the subject is or does (includes the verb) Example: The dog (subject) barked loudly. (predicate) This is a complete sentence because it: Has a subject (“The dog”) Has a predicate (“barked loudly”) Expresses a complete thought Notes: A sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation mark (period, question mark, or exclamation point). It can be simple, compound, complex, or compound-complex in structure. Therefore what Myron had stated is true.
There might be hope because DTG are still talking about "mane lines" and them needing many "hands" to build new routes. They also claim that there are several projects "jockeying" for their attention. So ignore the neigh-sayers and keep your fingers crossed.
Coincidence, TSW6 would have released this year either way. Before every DTG Direct or big promotion they have they say they have big surprises. Just remember the big surprise at Xmas.
Well given how they did Thomas, any attempt at Locomotion would probably use similar arcade/DCC physics.
