I know there are a lot of WCML routes already but the route is so diverse and this section could rectify a missed opportunity, and add another really cool train. This DLC would add an approximately 85 mile stretch of main line thay could seamlessly connect to the Cathcart Circle route with the Route Hopping function, and could add two trains I'd like to see in TSW AWC Class 221 "Super Voyager": I've seen people besides myself irritated at this train not being added in the WCML Euston to Milton Keynes route, and I believe this could be a good route to add it to, and also potentially make it work with the Euston to Milton Keynes route. TPE Class 397 "Civity": these run between Carlisle and Glasgow (I think) and would simply be a really cool addition to the game, I think they'd be quite cool to drive in TSW. TL;DR summary: this would add a nice section of route to TSW and two very good trains
As much as I think it would be great to get an Avanti Voyager, I highly doubt they'd come considering that Avanti supposedly requested only the refurbished Pendolino be represented, so I find it doubtful they'd want to be represented with a train they don't even use anymore at all
Problem with the 80s is that that is Just Trains territory, and they've said they don't want to, can't do Carlisle to Glasgow
Mhm and how do you think dtg or anyone else is going to do it?, the reason from just trains was it was too complex, so there’s no way in hell anyone else is going to try in modern times when there’s about 3x amount of trains compared to the 1980s. Honestly give a few years and just trains may actually be able to do it with new technology
It needs to come and a shame JT have ruled it out at least for the time being (never say never, I guess). Problem is, it’s not a route you can easily split into sub sections. After Carlisle pretty much a desert until you reach Carstairs which would be akin to Ambergate on PFR, the more so in the 80’s when only the portion trains to Edinburgh and Glasgow called to split/join. Most trains call at Motherwell which would avoid the most complex section but inevitably bring forth complaints (rightly so) that it stopped 12 miles short of the logical and iconic terminus.
