Could any consideration be given to providing a 5BEL train set for use on the Brighton Main Line: London Victoria - Brighton Route Add-On?

The route itself is a great addition to TSW. It would surely be enhanced even more by the addition of this venerable old train.

And, sadly, as DTG pretty much washed their hands of BML,the chances of it or any classic third rail EMU ever getting made seem as remote as ever. They were too timid to adjust the timetable to add a Class 700 layer.

They have said "expect the unexpected". You're not expecting them to do anything further with BML, neither am I. I hope we're both proven wrong as I'd love a Slam-door version or even a late 60's version with the Brighton Belle running alongside EBPs and 423s.

I believe it could be a cool pack, especially if some of the money raised went to the people restoring the real thing. However, DTG don't want to touch the VTB even though they could if they wanted, and there aren't that many other third rail routes in TSW to use it on.

Absolutely. Maybe even something similar to the TSC South London network but 60’s/70’s to run it on then the Electric Legends for BML. The timetable for the latter would be less intensive anyway particularly without a Thumper for the Oxted Line services. Though that would be nice as well!

The Thumper would be a good additional DLC. It's done railtours all over the country too.

OldVern, I am sure that you are aware of the modded timetable for this route that includes the 700 in 2 varieties. This proved that DTG's caution was not warranted. It is so busy, that during rush hour times, it is almost impossible to keep to schedule with all the trains ahead of you.

Oh yes, aware that the modders have succeeded where DTG fear to tread.

The BML Class 700 timetable is brilliant though it's only one that really tests my old gaming PC. It's very stuttery around Croydon. I kind of get why DTG didn't attempt it. It's one thing someone doing a free Timetable that's a bit jumpy but if you're selling a product like that then I can see it leading to loads of complaints.

Maybe a more optimised TSW6 might make it a reality.

Another Good Route that they have neglected no Thames-link dash 2 was ever mentioned for this route Three Bridges Depot looks Awfully Quite with out it.

Saying that though they had a lot of issues when this was first release back October 2021 as part of there Rush Hour series

Incidentally the excellent modded addition of the 700 to this route did NOT manifest itself in any lagging in the game whatsoever, hence destroying that excuse by DTG once and for all.

To try to get back on topic, the Brighton Belle sets were truly iconic and vastly luxurious. Definitely worth teaming up with the 5BEL Trust to bring them to TSW now that a rebuilt unit is undergoing testing.

I'm pretty sure that mod did reduce the total amount of services however.

Reduce? The route is busier than it’s ever been with the frequency of yellow and red lights out of all proportion to what it was in vanilla where you basically sailed from one end to the other unhindered as in most DTG vanilla routes.

A valid reason for them NOT to do it since if a gaming PC is having issues, consoles definitely will.
Given that most of their player base use consoles and the huge dust up over Frankfurt, would they really want to do it all again?

You misunderstood my post. Let me rephrase it.

I'm pretty sure (but not certain) that the overall amount of services is lower with the mod. I believe that a portion of the rarer AI traffic was removed, resulting in that total amount of services being lower. Again, I may be wrong about the raw service count.

Well he removed the SE services on divert to the BML but add a lot more Thameslink services, way more, so it’s busier.
On the mod obviously you don’t start from Victoria so no SE services there.
