Hello folks, Wednesday, July 30th at 19:00 BST we will preview the upcoming Expert DB BR 101 Gameplay Pack, which releases on July 31st. If you have any questions, please post them here. We will gather your questions beforehand, but please understand that we might not be able to answer all of them. To make things run smoothly, please use this for questions only. Discussions are best held in the official discussion thread. After the preview stream, I will timestamp the VOD on YouTube, post a summary of the questions and answers and close the thread, as it will have served its purpose by then. Looking forward to seeing you in chat! All the best, Jan
Is there an some sort of update coming to Kassel-Würzburg together with this, similar to how Linke Rheinstrecke received an update together with the E94 pack? I would really have hoped for at least the tunnel reverb to have been added to the route, seeing as tunnels play such an important role and it adds a lot of immersion, especially when this is supposed to be an expert level experience with the incredibly immersive 101 I love driving on other routes.
Obvious question as to why this is not going to be released on Epic. I mean that's a pretty big deal.
Any news on a fix for the broken Expert 101 timetable on Frankfurt - Fulda? I know this has been talked about before, and the problem seems to be so severe that this timetable basically needs to be built anew from scratch. But considering that some IC's heading from Kassel to Fulda continue on towards Frankfurt, it would be great if the two timetables could work together (or actually work at all)
You are correct that the plan is to redo the Frankfurt-Fulda Expert timetable rather than fix each issue on the old Expert timetable. I have already started working on this but do not expect the fixed Expert timetable to be released before TSW6 is out (and not directly with the release of the new game version). On the upside the FTF Expert TT will likely (subject to change, but I've already finished adding all the services so I feel optimistic) include around 12 more playable IC/EN/NJ services and 15-17 BR 101 shunting services at Frankfurt Hbf. The shunting services would include a start up of the locomotive, driving from one of the yards and then coupling to an IC formation that lacks a cab car and is either originating at Frankfurt Hbf or requiring a direction change (one loco is uncoupled and driven to the yard, a new loco is started up and coupled to the coaches on the opposite side) or taking a BR 101 from a terminating (or direction changing) IC service and stabling it at the yard. For now it is mostly a side project since I'm also heavily working on the next Expert locomotive, but once I am finished I think the Frankfurt-Fulda and Kassel-Würzburg 2018 timetables will go hand in hand (even one of the "meme" IC formations from the KWG Gameplay pack is included ) EDIT: I'm not supposed to answer questions here, my bad
Thanks cwf.green for the thorough answer! I wasn't expecting it before TSW6 anyway, so take your time! I'd rather get it a bit later, than rushed and unfinished. Sounds great so far, and shunting services are always welcome Looking forward to both the new timetables as well as the new Expert loco
- Are there any powered down locos to be picked up in the timetable as well? - The article is not very specific in regards to the freight layer. What has been changed apart from the Taurus making an appearance?! Are there new formations and / or services?
One more question, which I hope is not too specific and technical for the stream: - As I understand it from the article, there are certain moves under PZB (light loco). How have you solved the limitations of the dark mode implementation in TSW. As a simplified recap, a signal would need to cover 4 LZB blocks, however, each block is simply implemented as a normal signal block. This would lead to the situation that the actual signal block is indicated as free, while a train may still occupy an LZB block further down the line. Also, you could SPAD at an LZB block, as it may be occupied, however, if you run under PZB you will have no indication for it.
I think this is set up in a way that route from the signal to any of the LZB-Bk signals will show as dark. Which is not what would happen in reality, but still operates within rules - I believe you will still get Vr 0 and just arrive to a dark main signal with no movement authorisation further via red mast. In practice I imagine the previous train will likely be off before you get there, as PZB will force you to run much slower than the preceding train.
Yes, this is exactly the issue. I agree, it could simply be assumed that an LZB train in front should be long gone, however, there can still be conflicts, like, as you say, a dark signal when approaching under PZB. This could also be solved by simply making sure in the tt that the PZB train has enough distance ahead of it. But I would quite like to have this acknowledged as having been taken care of;-)
Hello, I noticed that the add-on is not available on the Epic Games Store, and I am extremely disappointed! My game Train SIM World is only on the Epic Games Store with all the add-ons, and not being able to access this one is very frustrating… Is it still possible to get it when the game is launched via the Epic Games Store on the in-game Dovetail store? If this is not possible, I kindly ask that after the launch of Train Sim World 6, the developers work on making it available on the Epic Games Store. It is indeed unfair that this platform is disadvantaged compared to other gaming platforms. If the developers have encountered issues, they should address them, even if it takes more time. Thank you very much for your response, hoping that you will announce a release on the Epic Games Store, even if it has to be later.
OpenMinded noir I'm not sure if what you described is the actual problem or a misunderstanding, because I don't recognize all of the supposed "fault modes", but I might be missing something. In any case, we implemented a fix to the BR 101 Expert (and the cab car, though that is probably less likely to be needed) that forces the LZB to disable "LZB Dark". We (developers and beta testers) have tested the light loco BR 101 services and there were no reported issues about Hp-signals not displaying Hp0 when LZB was isolated. What happens with LZB isolated (and this fix, which is live btw so you may be able to test it out on KWG) is that teilblock stops working (obviously) so you basically have to drive like 4-6km between each main signal These are the playable services in the timetable: BR 101 Expert: 30 services Bpmmbdzf 286.1 Expert: 11 services ICE-T: 19 services ICE 3: 13 services ICE 1: 36 services Flixtrain Vectron: 2 services BR 103: 2 services (TEE with Mittenwald IC coaches) Freight: 53 services (only 20 drivable by the BR155) - I don't remember exactly how many of these services I made double-headed but it is based on weight. Probably at least 10 services are double traction.
