These Scenarios contain detailed gameplay elements unique to this release: All Scenarios feature voice-overs to set the scene. Two Scenarios require the Expert DB BR 101 to be 'cold started'. Some Scenarios have dynamic changes to the environment during certain stages, including track being ripped up as part of engineering works. (These changes are unique to Scenarios. No such changes are made in timetable mode). One Scenario begins with dynamic camera movement One Scenario begins with you riding a train hauled by the DB BR 101. You are then asked to takeover once it stops. An overview of the Scenarios included: Diversion: Engineering inspections are taking place to ensure that the bridges and viaducts are safe for use. Delays and wrong line running are to be expected. Interference: Drive IC 1972 from Fulda to Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe accompanied by your Trainer. Expert DB BR 101 & IC Steuerwagen Add-on This gameplay pack requires players to own the Expert DB BR 101 & IC Steuerwagen Add-on, released in 2024. This ‘Expert’ loco is a much more complex, challenging and detailed version of the separate DB BR 101 locomotive Add-on that was released back in 2021. The Add-on features a level of interaction that requires considerable knowledge of the real-world locomotive’s systems and requires use of a Manual to understand some of the processes that are simulated. These include 'cold starting' the locomotive, entering train data into systems and managing train faults. A German Language Manual is also available. Our 23rd June Patch provided a significant update to the Expert DB BR 101 Add-on, including a new Livery and a list of new and improved features. You can read the full list in the relevant Patch Notes. Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel - Würzburg The pack also requires ownership of the Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel - Würzburg route, first released as a Core route in Train Sim World 3. This route is available as a Train Sim World 5 Compatible route Add-on. This route features the first true high-speed train in Germany, the ICE 1 which can accelerate up to 280 km/h. The route's eloquent mix of tunnels and viaducts offer a unique view as you punch through landscape, and unique challenge as you stay on top of the forever changing speed limits and both LZB and PZB systems available. Probably a Day one purchase depending on the preview stream. DTG Jamie - The date for the preview stream is in the past (17th July). I think it should be the July 30th?
Uhhh, that looks like another day one purchase for me! Very nice By the way, something that should be mentioned more often: Kudos to the person who took the promo screenshots... great work! I very much hope to see more of stuff like this in the TSW6-future! Could literally become a game changer This might be the first service I'm going to run on the new timetable
I'm so hyped for this, reading the short scenario descriptions makes me want to play all of them immediately!
I like the idea of gameplay packs that build on existing loco DLCs instead of being completely separate, and the price is fine as well considering how much gameplay is included. I just wish more people got the chance to experience the 101 in all its glory with the cab car. I’m sure there would be many casual players eager to try this out, but the high price of the Expert 101 is a dealbreaker for them. Perhaps a upgrade pack that lets owners of the original DB BR 101 add-on access the new 101 and cab car, just without the expert features, would make sense? Then you could also sell this Kassel-Würzburg pack to a much wider audience.
Correct is next Wednesday, July 30th, normal time as usual on the TSW channels. Source https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/week-beginning-july-28th-2025.92832/
"Added realistic AI to multiple points along the route where the high-speed line interacts or passes conventional rail lines" Honestly this is probably the most important part to me. It'll make the route more interesting to drive, and much more alive.
That's really interesting. What kind of differences are there between these two platforms that one can have a crashing problem severe enough to delay a release for months while the other works fine?
Good point as dtg told bare faced lie we were told the rivet 170 pack was last dlc for tsw5 then they announce release of that they clearly think people are dumb and don’t pay attention to what’s said
This pack was in the July Roadmap as coming in the 0-3 months section, before TSW6. I'm sure they don't think of people so rudely, but there are indeed many people who don't pay attention to what's been said.
Anyway, who cares who is the second to last or the last? There is literally a two day gap between the two DLCs... You really have to be either a troll or someone who likes to spit on DTG for no reason to bring this up.
That's because the expert 101 was originally to be released first but they had technical difficulties with the stream. And who cares anyway? it's two days between both releases. And to be exact: they said the Expert 101 pack would release in July, and the WMR/XC 170 would release before dovetail direct. Which both turned out to be true.
Day one for me also if just for that updated tt, worth the $9.99 price for that. I hardly use the expert 101 now, so probably won't with this release.
Do we know if there will finally be full expert 101 rail driver support following the release of this DLC?
Can somebody tell me why sometimes a timetable update for a route is free while for the other it is not?
will KWG receive an update on the occasion of the Expert DB BR 101 KWG gameplay pack release tomorrow? (as happened with BCC)
The free ones are typically a 'passion project' by a member of the DTG team, i.e. they built it in their spare time on top of doing their day jobs. The paid ones are either part of the day job, for which the devs get paid, or as in this case made by third party devs, who also need to be paid for their work.
My understanding is that all necessary updates for this gameplay pack have already been released with previous patches. So I would not expect anything else to update in this regard…
Thank you for the explanation. Was just a genuine question out of curiosity because it’s sometimes free and sometimes in a gameplay package.
Im a bit sad they haven't aimed to address at least some of the sound issues. The Brake sounds from the IC Coaches is still very noticeable looped. And i still getting those really annoying sound pops and bangs at higher speed on PS5. Im not sure where its coming from, might be core related but i just cant play it with Headphones, which is a pity because the Sounds themselves are quite fantastic. Also, i have the feel that Tunnel reverb os somewhat strange with this, on MKN it reverbs some electric humming, but no rolling sounds. Hard to tell if its the Loco or Route because the Expert 101 normally drives on routes with lesser tunnels, like Salzburg- Rosenheim. Also, it seems that they haven't add tunnel reverb to SKW as it seems in the streams. Im still a huge fan of the Expert 101, dont get me wrong, bur at times little things like that make it frustrating at times, like it is with TSW way to often. Beside my gripes with those points, both Streams (official DTG aswell as TSPs Stream) where impressive with all the things added to give SKW a solid polish it deserved.
Hello. I have some issue with the mission Resuce, When I was arrived Kirchheim, I dial the guard. After he hang up the phone, it’s stuck. I check the next step will be contact signal control however I’m stuck.
More of a random thought, but might it not have attracted more sales to offer a discount or bundle on the core Expert 101 along with release of the pack? £30 plus another £8 makes it a rather expensive proposition for those who don’t already own it but maybe thinking of giving it a try.
