what's your dream loco? the one you dream of having it on tsw so you can drive it I'll start with: GE P42DC note: this applies to locos, EMUs, DMUs, etc
Valenta HST with suspension and AP sounds. Have it in all BR / InterCity liveries, taking a leaf out of JT’s book with weathering, nameplates etc.. It can layer onto a few current routes, but could appear as a ‘rail tour’ variation for modern ones.
-BNSF ET44C4 -GP60/M/B -SD70ACe-T4 -SD75M/I -Siemens Chargers (any) -C44-9W -AC6000CW -SD90-43MAC -GP30 (I actually got to drive UP GP30 #844 in real life; such a cool experience) -GP35 -BR Class 55 Deltic
Literally anything but a single handle plastic emu class 55 Class 46 Class 44 Class 21 to class 26 Class 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 The damn KFA that was for some reason not included in the military pack The A4 steam locomotive Literally any tank engine that’s not from Thomas
I'd love to see the JNR 115-series in game! An EMU, sure, but in service since 1968, and...get this...most importantly, not single handled! In fact, observing JR West drivers, I'm pretty sure it has manually lapped brakes. It's a very analog set of rolling stock. Lots of metal parts and components, and not a lot of plastic. Not a glorified streetcar/super-tram; and feels, sounds, and runs like a train.
Some proper GWR locomotives, I mean the real GWR rather than the modern day tribute company. No specific classes, just give me some Western steam. 1950’s Riviera Line for TSW would be so awesome if done properly Edit: If GWR steam is too much of an ask for DTG then I’d take a Riviera Line set in the BR Western Region era with primary focus on Diesel Hydraulics, we have the Western, we just need the other hydraulics! It’ll be truly disappointing if DTG take the boring route and do Riviera Line in modern day where there is no genuine Western stock running on it.
DB Br 232 Ludmilla. Waiting for this since TSW2 (please let it happen TSG!) On the british side, i think a Deltic would fantastic and is actually long overdue. Yeah i have a heart for old smokey Diesels
Don’t know whether it’s true but I read on George’s (the Stourbridge Jn station cat) Facebook feed that one of the Class 139’s might be getting named after him. Anyhow we shouldn’t jest, the Stourbridge Town branch could yet be Rivet’s finest hour, as the keynote UK route for the TSW6 bundle.
I'll second this. The Type 2 Hydraulic might be a push but there's still Hymeks & BR Warships running and you could make an NBL Class 43 Warship by using the BR version but having it break more frequently.
Well, someone can have dreams, right? - E.656 FS "Caiman" DC electric articulated loco As it appears today, fully restored and used on railtours/events. The "queen" of Italian locos, here in a 1998 shot, towing some UIC-Xs. Classic "caiman style" acceleration (gangway POV), one of the nicest and pure DC sounds Imo!! About those ones who always say "Oh, electric locos don't make any noise!"... Listen to this kids Could clearly see it on an Italian mainline, a few years ago (mid 80s-2010s)!
I would be delighted if there were to be a BLS route one day. These vehicles would also be suitable for this. BLS Re 420 BLS Re 465 BLS Re 475 Vectron BLS RABe 528 MIKA BLS RABe 515 double-decker train ‘MUTZ’ If I didn't have problems working with the TSW Editor, I would build an SBB or BLS route myself. But unfortunately, I don't understand the TSW Editor at all.
I agree about the P42 and I would add the SC44 Charger. I also have a fondness for the E and F series. In the UK any 1st generation DMU's plus the 124, 50 and 55.
For me a Valenta HST a Class 50 and a Class 33 in BR Blue. Then hopefully we could get Exeter to Plymouth in the 80’s and I can relive my teenage / college years.
Locomotive: Vectron Dual Mode This is mainly so I can play on Non-Electrified routes, or backing into the Elverlingsen Coal Power Station at Ruhr Sieg Nord. DMU: None EMU: ICE 4 (BR412) Personally got to see the cab of this train, and absolutely fell in love with it. It's probably able to be layered on quite a few already existing routes.
Point of note. The type 2 pictued is a re engined Class 29 (originally Class 21) diesel electric. I believe you meant to include the Class 22 diesel hydraulic.
A collection of Southern Region MK1 EMUs... The thing with SR MK1 EMUs is you couldn't just produce one, as there were many variants operating together at one time. So for me EPBs, CEPs, CIG, VEPs for a baseline, and additional HAP, TC stock, MLVs, REP, stock if we were lucky. Ideally with a time appropriate route such as Charing Cross to Hastings set in 1990, or the Portsmouth Direct Line in it entirety set in 1990 too. Although if we could 'push the boat' a bit, with the South Eastern route, maybe set it in 1994/1995 when Class 465s were replacing EPBs so we could maybe get a new subclass of Class 465/0s and 465/1s in original specification and with original traction equipment.
For me, these are some of my biggest wishes. Mostly these are types required to fill out existing routes.... Class 14 Teddy Bears, Class 35 Hymeks and Class 42 (perhaps also 43) Warships. WSR Class 180 Adalente (maybe genuine Class 165), Class 57 Sleeper and Class 60 Tugs. GWE Class 22 Baby Warship, Class 117/121, 123 and 128 dmus, Class 251/261 Blue Pullmans. DLoGW Class 25, Class 123 and 124, Class 128 and Class 141 Pacer. NTP Class 56 Grids and Class 143 Pacers.TVL Class 73, Class 171 and other Class 377 variants. ECW and BML Class 222 and Class 156. MML Class 50 Hoovers and Valenta HSTs. WCL Class 44/45/46 and Class 251/261 Midland Pullman. PFV Class 91 +Mk4s. ECML Classes 59, 67, 68, 69, 70, 88, 90, 92, 93 and 99 for multiple modern routes as alternative freight traction. I can think of multiple others but need to draw a line somewhere. Hopefully some of these are interesting to others.
Holy Moly you've upped the stakes with a nearly complete wishlist. Gauntlet thrown down so here goes..... I'll stick to mainline classes; 23,25,35,50,55,68,85,88,89,91,93,99,105,108,116,120,121,124,156,185,195/196,231,220/221,302,303,307,308,309,312,315,317,319,321, 325,345,357,360,365,370,411,414,415,421,422,423,442,444,450,701,717,720,730,745,755,756. That should be enough work for DTG and all of the TP developers for 30 years. So I've highlighted my top 15 for market research purposes.
I’ve always wanted the P32AC-DM as I love the style of locomotive. Preferably in the blue nose livery. Dream route has always been either the Hudson Line or New Haven Line
Dream trains: 455 (South Western Region) 73 (Electric/Diesel) 421/422/423 (Slammers) 50 + Mk2s (Diesel) Royal Mail coaches Basically everything to create a backdated Waterloo - Southampton (and beyond)
A TSW version of MSTS Great Eastern would be good. Believe it was set in 1989, with Class 309s, Class 302, Class 305, Class 307, Class 315, Class 317, Class 321 and Class 47, Class 37, Class 31... The complexity of creating all of the current non existent TSW rolling stock would be the only issue, particularly in terms of sourcing the sounds. And it would take an enormous amount of work to cater for such a diverse amount of rolling stock. I think something on this level would be in JTs 'playground'.
