Only tried a couple of runs, 1 night and 1 day and got the same problem. Everything started right, set loco up and left Preston, got about 25 miles then lost power, loco just wouldn't notch up or run up. Stopped and reset everything but nothing??. I I wasn't in a neutral zone when this happened. Anyone had this problem, I only purchased this on Tuesday.

    Hello,

I think I have the same problem on XSX. After passing neutral section locomotive does not receive power as "Line" indicator is off. I have not figured out way how to recover from that. Pressing "Pantograph up/Overload reset" button does not help. As attempts to recover I can lower the pantograph, but can't raise it anymore. In normal situation the reverser should be in forward position to raise it, but in this case it does not help. Only reset physics allows to continue. I wrote about my problem in couple of threads, but had no any response whether it is bug or I just do something wrong to recover from problem.

My theory is that this problem affects only certain scenarios or locomotive modifications, as I have completed all scenarios and most of Journey tasks and most of them have no such problem.
    • I see this problem with Scenario "A Helping Hand". 86/2 IC1
    • Journey 1V72 Glasgow Central to Paignton. Loco 86/2 IC2 RCH (86245 "Dudley Castle")
I am pretty sure I never pass neutral section with power applied and absolutely certain that never overload the engine being in red-zone.
Knowing that someone else has similar problem helps. If you have same problem again please post the scenario name and locomotive modification. Also the nearest station where the neutral section is situated may help.

    Thanks,

    Dainis

Was the tap changer in the off position? I’ve noticed that the MCB cannot be closed (automatically or by you) if the tap changer is left in hold accidentally.

Its quite easy to fall into that trap.

    I have done, many times.

Lamplight you were absolutely correct that problem was that power control handle was not in "Off" position. Now, thanks to your advise, I was always able to restore power to the locomotive.
I am still not sure why in some cases after passing neutral section the power is not restored automatically. E.g. today I was driving one of Journey mode tasks and 86-2cX (86254) after neutral section right after Lancaster (towards Preston) did not restore power automatically. When approaching it I was coasting with power off for half a mile, but the "Line" light did not come up automatically. Pressing the "Pantograph up/Overload reset" button helped, since tap changer was in "Off" state and reverser in forward position.
Thank you very much for hint!
