Hi all another question haha, I was enjoying a couple of runs in the BR DR 363 diesel shunting loco, picked it up on sale . After a while I wanted te see how much diesel was left in the loco. I have looked everywhere but could not find a fuel gauge or fuel tank anywhere … does anybody now where it is?

I think you can only see the fueltank but not how much is in it.

Edit: If you sit in the drivers seat and look at the middle end of the longer front then there is the fuelgauge, but its not simulated afaik

Fortunatly the 363 can run about 900miles on a tank of gas you should never run out.

That's not the fuel gauge, it's for the cooling water. The newer 363s in real life have an LED fuel gauge on the outside of the cab, but it's not simulated in TSW.

ISTR having a debate about whether diesel traction in TSW is even set up to consume fuel. Most runs are so short you would be at little risk of running out anyway. Even the Class 45’s and 47’s on NTP had a range of over 400 miles IRL so could get a round trip from York or Leeds to Liverpool in before needing to go back on shed for fuel.

Thank u for the information, I’m not sure if it’s simulated on the German and UK loco’s I played a lot of US freight loco’s and there u can actually see the digital fuel gauge become les the more distance u travel. So the US freight loco’s do have feul concumption

This is also noticeable by the mass of the train, if there are many locomotives in it. After a long rise to the 8th position of the throttle, you can lose a ton of weight or more
