Curios on whether this roure is any good or worth it as its 30 percent off ATM. Basically I want another S Bahn route and didn't think the Frankfurt s bahn was worth it even with a 25% discount as the timetable was cut really short on console. I'm looking for a busy s bahn route but I also like doing Regional and long distance services. Is it any good. I own many other German content so layers aren't a problem (for the most part). Basically is it worth 25€. It does look decent.
I would say it is, the timetable is good, the 111 services are good fun and i enjoy using a 218 on it in free roam.
I am not a fan of what DTG have done with this route: - The included rolling stock is a mess. The included 425 has the wrong interior, LZB and the wrong doors. The S-Bahn branding is also in the wrong font and misspelt. The BR406 is not the version that was registered for the French rail network. - The timetable for the S-Bahn is flawed. S1 and S2 services completely skip Schifferstadt and then stop at the next station for ca. 5min. - Signalling is again a mess. In Neustadt and Kaiserslautern, you'll often get incorrect aspects. - The scenery is messed up as well. The road layout right next to the track in Ludwigshafen is clipping into itself, and details like the station roofs in Kaiserslautern are wrong, whilst the correct model isn't only in the game, it was used in Ludwigshafen Mitte (where it is also incorrect) Conclusion: If you aren't familiar with the real route and its details, it is a quite nice route with some great changes between fast straight rail lines and a slow and curvy section through the mountains. If you have LGV, you'll get another route to drive the TGV (even though it is also the incorrect version for Germany). If you want a good S-Bahn route, Frankfurt S-Bahn is a much better choice, even though I can't say how much was cut for the console timetable.
Basically all they have is the Class 423 (in which there are less services) and Class 430 services. Only others are a small selection of Dostos + 146 and Class 411. No AI only traffic whatsoever and no other addons.
I believe the exact figure was around 600 services while the Full Timetabke has over 1000 if my memory serves me right
Personally waiting for a sale on this one. I mean the route looks nice but I get a Dresden to Chemnitz vibe from it so doesn’t bring much newto the table. The hook of course is you need this route to make purchasing the TSG Railtour pack worthwhile, otherwise you don’t get any scenarios to run the Umbaugwagons on. Think I will be waiting for at least 50% off before biting.
I got this route on PS5 on sale at 25% off just for the E94 and I'm not impressed at all with it. Lots and lots of stored rolling stock all over the place but the time table feel very barren for such a large route. There is some nice big stations but there is nothing going on. Also the turntable shed is a let down with the tracks not being layed properly in the shed. It's like an AI artist just plonked the asset down after the track was layed or vice versa. There's lots of signaling bugs and accurate rolling stock discrepancy too if you wanted to nit pick further. If anything get at 50% off just the the E94 content it provides.
