Suggestion for Train Sim World 6 (upcoming): Adding a “Server” Category with Public and Private Options Hello everyone, In anticipation of the upcoming release of Train Sim World 6, I’d like to propose a multiplayer feature that could greatly enhance the gameplay experience. Proposal: Add a “Server” category in the main menu offering two types of access: Public Servers: Similar to GTA RP servers, where players can freely join to roleplay within a shared environment. Server owners could manage a whitelist via Discord to control access to roleplay sessions. Trains would be free to use on these public servers, providing a freedom akin to a sandbox mode—but with structure and rules tailored to roleplaying, encouraging immersion and cooperation. Roleplay companies could be established, with players applying via Discord to join organizations like “TGV InOui,” enhancing community and realism. Private Servers: Access restricted by a code, ideal for friends or small groups. Server creators could customize their environment by placing objects such as cones, signals, barriers, etc., to organize events or specific scenarios. This feature would add a new social and immersive dimension to Train Sim World 6 from launch. Thank you for considering this suggestion.
Hello lopkrii#6823 That won't happen, because multiplayer is not what most people and DTG want. If you had entered the word ‘multiplayer’ in the search field, you would have found loads of threads on this topic.
And as noted, if you look at SimRail server usage, numbers have plunged significantly apart from the primary Polish language server which seems to tick over around half full. Run 8, wellI I loosely subscribe on Facebook to a couple of the outfits running MP servers and they are often on there touting for people to come and join in so again not much interest. The best you might eventually see if DTG deemed it worthwhile is a MP spin off similar to the VR game (which appears to be a flop judging by the lack of forum activity) using one specific route. However they need to be convinced there is sufficient demand to justify keeping and maintaining server(s) 24/7 including moderation. Unless they plan to surprise us with something like that as one of their “new” titles teased for Dovetail Direct in two weeks time, assume the idea is a non starter.
Why does it need to have servers? Can't you just have one player host a lobby with the capacity of a few other people. Similar to how RTS games handle multiplayer? I'm not really into multiplayer, but I guess it could be fun playing free roam on WSR with a few friends or so. Nothing too massive. Keep it small.
