Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition! This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Re-shades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor. This is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 10PM GMT on Saturday, August 16th 2025 and will be judged by me - Blazin In the event of this week's winner not responding by 10PM GMT on Sunday, August 17th 2025, a new thread will be created using the results of this week's poll. The theme for this week is: Single Track Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish. Good luck to you all.
Captured entering the single line section between Littleport and Downham Market, GBRF 66768 heading the 4H83 service from Peterborough North Yard to Middleton Towers with a rake of IIA(F) Tanpps empty sand hoppers.
The single track line from Lymington Pier to Lymington town makes for some wonderful photographic opportunities. On this occasion a BR Blue / Grey Class 411 is the chosen subject.
Keeping things moving on the single line from Acle to Great Yarmouth, the RHTT top & tailed by a pair of grubby DRS Class 37s.
Blazin given the current time of day and lack of entries, I am more than happy for you to extend the deadline if you wish to do so. I am also aware it can be dead frustrating as judge to not be able to participate in a great theme, but I am sure we can stretch the rules to allow you participate, would love to see your take on the theme.
Yeah give it an extension, been really busy with Work & meant to contribute but had no TSC time recently.
One of my favorite drives (Could be due to driving the nice blue 67003 now sadly scrapped in real life) Stoke Marcroft to Warrington Arpley transporting some wagons that have had a service seen here on the Stoke Loop heading for Crewe. Scenario here - https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/hpw-6f31-1254-stoke-marcroft-warrington-arpley-2011/
Alright, since you and paulc both wish for an extension I’ll allow it to run for an extra week. It seems that it has been a tough time for the activity of the TSC screenshotting world as of late. Later I can attach 3 screenshots I would otherwise be submitting to this contest but goes without saying they’re not being counted in the judging when the time comes as that would be a bit biased.
Two Class 37 in IC livery hauling the very long British Rail ScotRail 1H93 02:25 Edinburgh - Kyle of Lochalsh "LOVE O' the North" Excursion
The 170 just came out from Newark North Gate on the Lincoln line via a Single Track, I think it can count *reposted as I realise I can post it as a full image*
I know I already posted 3 but won't hurt to have a 4, probably poking their heads from Braintree Branch?
Definitely. I personally don't feel like competing - emphasis on the word - but I notice that both here and standard threads, there are fewer people. Maybe I should post a doom thread, it sometimes helps.
Just letting you know mate feel free to put more than 3 if you want to show off others that fit the theme but I will only be including the first 3 you submitted in the judging process.
EXEMPT SHOT - FOR FUN Most people find one-tracked railway lines boring as they don't offer much action with passing rail traffi. But in my opinion they are my favourite type of line as they will often consistently offer a scenic and peacefully isolating feeling that two tracked and above lines don't offer for me. Here Rhaetian Railway ABe 8/12 '3514' 'Steivan Brunies' forming a passenger setup of 3 coaches also hauling 2 Sp-w wagons loaded with logs are seen ascending the Brusio Spiral Viaduct in Grisons, Switzerland on the Bernina Railway. Motive Power: Rhaetian Railway ABe 8/12 Route: Bernina Line: Poschiavo - Tirano Scenario: [ABe 8/12 RhB] Summer Northbound Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, Reshade
EXEMPT SHOT - FOR FUN Where can you go wrong with rural one track lines in the English countryside? Here British Railways Class E4 '2795' is seen hauling 3 coaches and a van on the Eden Valley Railway on a run to Barnard Castle, England in the United Kingdom. Motive Power: GER Class T26 / LNER Class E4 Route: Stainmore, Shap & Eden Valley Scenario: 1535 Penrith to Darlington Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, Reshade
EXEMPT SHOT - FOR FUN I also think the appeal of industrial one track branches in place such as the United States is also underrated! Here Norfolk Southern Railway EMD GP40-2 '3065' and EMD GP38-2 '5203' lead a train of hoppers through the rural forests of North Carolina. Motive Power: EMD GP40-2, EMD GP38-2 Route: Norfolk Southern N-Line Scenario: [GP40-2] 2. All of the Freight! Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, Reshade
