Hi all, First time poster here. 1. I'd love to see Newcastle-upon-Tyne and either up to Edinburgh where you could hop to the Edinburgh-Glasgow route or down to York. Newcastle Central Station opened on August 29, 1850 and is a superb piece of architecture with more modern structures inside (glass ticket area for example). 2. Route linking - where routes "overlap" i.e. two different routes have the same station it would be amazing to have them link into one long route, unlocking longer runs for people who own those DLC's. Thanks, Andy
1. Edinburgh to Newcastle is a bit long (120 miles ish?) Newcastle to York would work at around 90 miles. Since it goes through Darlington, it could connect to the existing Tees Valley with a route hop. Is there anything else to see on that stretch as far as landmarks or scenery that's unique or special? What trains and services run on that line? What time period would you set it in? The same as Tees Valley (1989) or newer? 2. Not currently possible in game for a number of reasons that were discussed at length on other threads. It's not something they're even looking into. "Route hop" is the best you're going to get in TSW.
I'd like a Newcastle to Edinburgh route, preferably in a different era though. Not likely to happen though. As for merging routes, that is simply not at all feasible.
There is a way of linking routes, a train drives into a tunnel on one route, you get a brief loadind screen before flying out of the tunnel on a second route, but would the player base accept that?
Not every boundary between 2 routes has a tunnel. Take GWE at Reading for example, no tunnels at the Western end of Reading platforms. The change over loading screen would have to take place on the platforms. Therefore not a feasible option.
You are focusing on the tunnel idea too much, it is only an idea to hide the actual vehicle itself which is a load screen. You leave Reading station, head towards the end point and those Indians won't even be there. Once you hit the end point, rather than getting "End of session: you have reached the edge of the represented area" you get a load screen and....
It's not "feasible"... that you stop at a station, take a break while passengers load and then start at the same station? That's pretty realistic.
