I didn’t anywhere state they serve one direction? I even said one part serves domestic destinations, the other serves a mixture of international and domestic destinations. I think your perhaps making wild assumptions based on your interpretation. Nowhere in my post did I state a specific direction.

I have droned on enough about my opinion, let’s get back to TSW6 and our hopes and aspirations of what will be revealed next week

My assumptions were based on your statement.

Assumptions based of a self, incorrect, hypothesis that I stated a specific direction. Clearly in all my posts I didn’t and went as far as clearly specifying domestic and international and domestic destinations :)

It’s not an opinion though, it’s a fact that they are two separate stations separated by a road. Signs & announcements also reflect this so I don’t understand your doubling down which seems to be for the sake of it. Are you now going to call the two stations at Waterloo “Waterloo & Waterloo East” and the two in Hackney “Hackney Central & Downs”?

The Underground Station is the only one which can be called Kings Cross St Pancras and even then, not only wasn’t it a thing until the 1930’s (40’s for the Metropolitan platforms) but most people still merely refer to it as “Kings Cross” in any event

This is boring now, the stations you mention don’t have a single tube link, I have been here long before the extension to St Pancras was built, built adjacent to the old King’s Cross. You call it whatever you please, treat it as as many stations as you like and do whatever makes you sleep better at night.

My opinion remains and I will continue to call it King’s Cross St Pancras and treat it as one large station, like an airport with two different terminals. I’m not here to convince you or anyone else and continue this pathetic rhetoric, this is now highjacking a thread because of a route that I’d like to see.

You can get from any London station to any other London station without leaving railway property...

They’re not at the same location though are they?! As I’m sure you know, Network Rail manage mainline stations and TFL manage London Transport. They’re managed individually.

Yep, I think random events on each run is a strong possibility now, if so, great news. Will be interesting to see what they are (im thinking TSRs, ai delays, random workers etc). Would think it would be toggle-able for the folks that don't like.

Hehehe calling it now they will say “only compatible with tsw 6+ routes but we are working on adding it to every route”, (we both know by now they won’t be adding it to even 25% of the content in game, just like the other two features that was meant to be added to every past route)

The random events system sounds good in theory, but let's not forget how dynamic weather was implemented in the game... Again, it sounded good in theory, but it is still a messed up system!

But your argument about the two separate mainline stations being one is in part because of the TFL-managed tube station, you can't have it both ways!

The bottom line is, Network Rail manages them as two mainline stations with different station codes. They are separated by a road, they are neighbours. What you think in your own personal head canon is entirely a matter for you, but if you keep insisting "Kings Cross to Paris Eurostar" then expect to be corrected.

Again, let’s continue this rhetoric then, you completely misquote me just as your predecessors have. I consider them under the same umbrella as King’s Cross St Pancras as they are the same location. It’s a station formed of two parts. There may well be a road between them, nevertheless they are, for all intense and purposes the same location.

As for my own head cannon, I’d advise you not to throw personal insults from behind your keyboard. I would suggest you learn to read and more importantly UNDERSTAND English. I don’t keep mentioning you can travel from King’s Cross to Paris. I mentioned it once, under the guise as you are able to travel from King’s Cross St Pancras to Europe!!!

What I think is King’s Cross St Pancras, is my prerogative, I consider it the same location and thus I will continue to address it so, and from this location, you are able to transport yourself both domestically and internationally, so yes, you can travel from King’s Cross St Pancras to Paris.

Calm down, matey. Where did I insult you? I stated some facts and said you're entitled to think what you like. You, on the other hand, certainly insulted me there.

Well looks like we have someone building sky high walls to trap themselves in their own opinion from the factual truth that keeps knocking on their metiforical front door trying to get in......

Humanity amazes me It truly does.....

Not as much as it amazes me, factual truth and opinion? Just because opinions don’t align doesn’t make something you or others say ‘factual truth’, King’s Cross St Pancras will remain as one transport hub, at the same location, in my opinion, quite frankly how many others choose to categorise it into is their prerogative :)

There's a difference between opinion and fact though.

Saying you consider them the same is an opinion, but the fact still remains that they're separate regardless of what you think.

I consider them under the same umbrella, hence calling it King’s Cross St Pancras, they are in the same geographical location, one part is King’s Cross, the other St Pancras, hence why I choose to identify it as a single hub. St Pancras is a bolt onto King’s Cross. This is absolutely hilarious, perhaps it needs it’s own thread now.

Hilarious! Back at you, replies like that stem from people with limited ability and competence. Back into the shadows you go. Best get onto TFL and get them to rebrand King’s Cross And St Pancras :)

I dunno what's getting you so fussed up. It's very simple. Two different stations, each of which is big, in two separate locations with close proximity. Each station of which was built by a different railway company at a different time than the other - today these stations have two different names, managed by different rail operators, and a distinctive station head code. So therefore, it is two different stations and not one large hub :D

    Expect the unexpected...
UK route: Leicester to Peterborough via Melton, Oakham etc. This could include a bit of test track action at Old Dalby. Oh, and it would be great to have some signalling fun for a really unexpected new game bit. :)

Back on topic, it would be nice if DTG announced some route from this hub with DLС class 91 locomotives.

I don't believe we can get full mileage to Peterborough or Bedford, probably no further than Hitchin and Luton, but I would be very happy to get them.

DTG, start a contest. One random user who guesses the route will get it for free. It's easy to implement, it won't hurt your budget. But what a fun for users. 3 routes - 3 winners.

Even if we say they are one Umbrella - an umbrella is only held by one person, and in this case there isn't one holder of the two stations. But regardless that's how you like to think of it.

by the way, I have no interest in what are merely statistics. I've been watching threads for ages but never bothered to make an account. Just saying this as a clarity because your reply (From my POV at least) comes across as perceiving the opposite of what I said. Nice talking to you :)

It would be silly not to go all the way to Peterborough, as the station already has a model that can be re-used, and Hitchin is only 30 miles from King's Cross, which would only take about 20 minutes to drive in a 91.

We agree to disagree despite your incorrect interpretation and close scrutinisation of the word umbrella. An umbrella may be held by one person but can house more than one person under it :)

Definitely can't house two separate train stations under it though, no umbrella big enough for that I'm afraid.......:D :D :D

    So it's 3 stations!
St. Pancras mainline - London Midland Region/South Eastern Region/Eurostar.
Kings Cross mainline - Eastern Region.
Kings Cross, St. Pancras - TfL.

    It used to be 4!
    Kings Cross Thameslink RIP.

    Glad I could help!

If King's Cross and St. Pancras are the same because they're at the same place does that mean that every shop at a retail park or shopping centre is one and the same? Because I see a big difference between Greggs and Sport's Direct.

I wouldn't expect anything but this from DTG.

But my expectations from them have been low anyways since TSW3.

    That way I'm never dissappointed.

Personally, I think Colchester would be the first logical end point for the GEML after Shenfield (the latter of which would be depressingly short).

A fair amount of Intercity services don't stop at Chelmsford, and there's a fair amount of freight that stops at the goods loop in Colchester. I think a Colchester endpoint should include Colchester Town, for that 'complete' service.

But yeah, Ipswich would be my hope too... and the Felixstowe branch.

If they really did the unthinkable and cut short at Shenfield, I'd hope they'd add a little extra to the route, Orient Way CS and the Liberty Line are the only relevant options, though, I think.

Right from the East Midlands website.

    Screenshot_20250821_133900_Chrome.jpg

    So its 3 stations.

Also all 3 have separate postal codes if they were the same property it would be the same.

    Argument over.

I’d love to see the Woodhead route in game.BR blue era precisely with br class 76/77. Everything else BR blue era can layer in 37,47s ect. Be interesting to see Sheffield Victoria in its heyday before her sad demise

There’s no argument to have and I will continue to address it as King’s Cross St Pancras and I will still consider it as one main station hub. If that causes you and your compatriots such disdain and need to prove which one of you is more right than any other, I couldn’t give a flying fig!

Instead of continuing to gaslight this topic in a desperate attempt who to prove who is right and who is wrong, have an evening off and go and play with your train sim.
