I’d love to see the BNSF Metra route based out of Chicago Union Station to Aurora, IL. The route is a DLC in Train Simulator 2016 I think? Utilize the Amtrak routes that run through it along with the BNSF freight traffic. Would make for an awesome route in TSW.

No Metra license so it's a non starter.

Only benefit is that some of the devs of that route on TSC are a part of HIS for TSW, but I don't see them doing it. (Rick Grout, Jonathan Lewis, and Gary Dolzall)

Yes, when "The Racetrack " was released, the missing Metra logo was modded but that's not possible with TSW.

3rd Parties can release unbranded stuff if they want to, but I dont see HIS doing The Racetrack. And mods can always repaint stuff (Or the livery editor feature to try and fix it)

But not publish it and share it with the rest of us.

Correct me if I'm wrong. If you share it for free - no problem. But if you ask money for it - lawyers have already on the way to your home.

If we can't get Metra, we could still get CB&Q or BN on this route as the Racetrack is a former CB&Q route. CB&Q in the 1970s would give us GP30s, SD40-2s, SD45s, U30Cs, GP35s, SD7s/SD9s, GP20s, and E8 and E9 units for commuter trains. BN in the 1990s would give us SD40-2s, U30Cs, B30-7 B-Units, SD60s/SD60Ms, SD60MACs, SD70MACs, SD45s, GP39E/M/V rebuilds (formerly GP30s and GP35s), and Morrison-Knudsen rebuilt E8 and E9s, also for commuter trains. Either the CB&Q or BN version of the route would include some new freight equipment, cabooses, and Bi-Level commuter coaches/cab cars.

I would love to see Metra and BNSF though. BNSF locos: ET44C4s, ES44AC/DC/C4s, SD60M-3s, SD70MACs, GP60/M/Bs, SD40-2s, C44-9Ws, GP39-2/-3s, and/or GP38-2s; Metra locos: F40PHM-3, F40PH-3; then we need both freight and commuter rolling stock.

Amtrak also runs both Midwest services and long-distance SW Chief and California Zephyr trains, so we could get Amtrak P32-8BWHs, Genesis P40DCs or P42DCs, and/or ALC-42 and SC44 Chargers, along with Siemens Venture and Superliner passenger cars.

I think is more that console are limited to mods, or the livery editor. And the shared liveries arnt allowed to have branded logos DTG doesn't have licenses for (Even though that's not moderated)

Well I don’t think we have yet seen a TSW route make it to a (PC only) mod site like TS Community. Even then, I think the site owners might be wary about hosting something that blatantly goes against known licensing issues. A reskin might slip under the radar but not an entire route!

Nobody should be shutting down other people’s suggestions because they think there’s no chance of licensing. DTG are constantly negotiating new licensing agreements and many things have come to the game after years of people saying they can’t happen because of licensing. DTG could have a Metra license right now. The thing is we just don’t know yet.

Pointing out there’s no licence is not shutting suggestions down, just tempering enthusiasm with a bit of pragmatism!

Thing is though, with how US content is currently handled, DTG favors those who are willing to work with them openly, which includes things such as recording trips. Metrolink was a surprise that they did do it for TSW3, but they have really only been the surprise licenser in the US for content. Every other piece of work was someone that was already licensed (Class 1 Freight, Amtrak, MTA etc) or had express desire to be involved (MBTA) so the chance of someone like Metra, who already denied licensing for their brand on TSC, isn't very high, especially if DTG can just run to other operators who are more open to TSW.

No-one is shutting anyone down. Indeed I've made suggestions about Metra routes myself from time to time and I would be the first one to raise a glass if such a route were announced.

All we're saying is that, from all available evidence and statements, we do not believe that DTG has such a license.

Since this is the OP's first post, he/she may not be aware of this or the license situation in general.

Riding a bit of a high horse there stujoy.
