So I guess history does repeat... DTG did an oopsie and had a cover art of TSW6 publicly accessible via their new support page. Spoiler: Spoiler: TSW6 Keyart Among a highly possibly placeholder Koploper and ICE T (although with a green stripe, perhaps we'll get a 415 guessing from that), a GWR 802 is also visible in the keyart. https://support.dovetailgames.com/hc/en-us Before anyone says it's fake; right-click the TSW5 keyart on the TSW5 support panel, open the image in a new tab and change the 5 to a 6 in the image URL. Unless DTG was fast enough to lock access to the image.
possibly. however. if it is an 802, with it being bimode, I'd likely say Taunton to Cardiff or something similar. Maybe even the South Wales Mainline....
Going to be a bit of a downer but seeing three trains we already have in TSW5 is going to make a little sad. Will this be the end of getting new trains with the core routes (not including deluxe trains)? I know American content has always been on the back-burner so not surprised they reused the TSW4 one for TSW5, but at least we got the 350 and ICE-T as respective new trains for the new UK and German routes. And by the looks of the TSW6 core routes it looks like they are reusing a whole TSW5 route, which although visually stunning is not the most fun route, as well as a TSW4 and 5 core train. I really hope this isn't the case, but I'll just have to wait and see.
Still doubt DTG are happy about it.... I don't know why they didn't wait until Dovetail Direct to upload the files to the website, but there we are.
Another reason why I think the GWR route could be based near Wales/Taunton is the XC licence. Layered in XC 170s.
you and many other people are too slow to think or read, those are placeholders. and the 802 is literally NOT already in the game, get a grip or some glasses.
Will note that a similar image was leaked last year..... With the final Standard and Deluxe images being below. So the image could be mostly placeholders for now..... (Image sources: TSC Discord)
interesting that all the trains that were placeholders were ones that were already in the game. I understand the 80X is currently in game, but not a GWR liveried one.... Which could suggest at least this one isn't?
Objection! The class 802 is basically the exact same as the class 800/801 so I wouldn’t count that as new, like the only two differences I’ve see is larger fuel tanks and more powerful diesel engines from the class 800, and well it looks near identical to the class 800/801
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesnt repainting the units and changing the seats/interior require them to change the models? For the player it would look like just a reskin, but they do have different performance characteristics too if I recall right.
The differences would be so minor compared the current one in game, the class 802 is slightly more powerful than class 800 but not by much
I believe the internal layout of the GWR sets is different to the LNER ones. There's also some work to do to convert the 801 to an 800 or 802 anyway - 801 only has one engine in the whole train.
That's a good find- forgot about that! Showcasing GWR is no surprise- what routes could that imply? Hopefully DTG are just having a bit of fun before the big reveal but if there's really no US route I'll be kinda sad ngl.
Not by much, in my opinion probably not enough to warrant the train being added as the core train for core uk route in tsw 6 if this is real
Yeah yeah. It is a weekend. Last year when the TSW5 leak thread was going on it also got shut down on a monday, after the community-active weekend. And I have literally written a short guide on how you can view it yourself (ON THEIR OFFICIAL WEBSITE), so if you still think it's fake even after that I don't think you can be helped.
Last year as seen in the photo is the same story, no US loco in the initial shot, only difference is we don't know of any US route in the works, where last year we already knew of SBL (We just didn't know it was gonna be a core TSW5 route) Though I would trade a US route out of the core routes, if it got a longer development time for release shortly after TSW6's launch.
My thinking: This is the Deluxe Cover. The 802 and ICE-T are different from the versions in-game, so they are not purely placeholders (why change them for that). ICMm, either SGN is part of Deluxe, or that is Placeholder. But it is not the base game Cover, as with 0 new trains, there would be riots.
Aye. But vast majority of the time it’s trolley only. Not that it changes the in game model, but still.
It'd be such a shame if the only new trains are part of deluxe, because core routes are often the only time where we get more than 1 new train a route.
Looks like the free starter pack for me again if this is a real leak then wait for the sales as I did last year
Found some internal Adobe Illustrator work going on in the image metadata... logos for various DTG titles as well as "Liberty", "IvoR New York", and "MRNY"?
That’s business unfortunately. Dovetail know that we’ll pay extra to enhance a route and so they’ll charge that
For some strange reason Mods dont monitor the forums at the weekends…just like last year. Next working day in the UK is Tuesday 9am…very close to the Live…
