I was right about the GWR 802. I asked Liam about this loco many months ago and he flat out denied its existence coming to GWR Remastered. I know he wasn’t obligated to say anything, but i’m glad I stuck to my suspicions. That’s another reason GWR 2.0 was delayed then because the GWR 802 was part of the TSW6 core routes. It’s safe to say the 802 will layer onto GWR 2.0 also. Happy days!
Even though the 802 is out of era? GWE is set in 2017, and will remain so after the remaster. A very limited Class 800 service started running in October 2017 (although there were test runs before that). 802s didn't come in until 2018. If the IET is a layer, it'll likely only be a handful of services, nothing to shout about.
As long as the GWE Remaster isn't a core route, I'd be happy if the 802 was with a deluxe edition tbh.
That is what we were told, yes. Speculation only, but I think the GWR 2.0 has been finished for quite some time. Your above statement and the GWR 802 layering into GWR 2.0, plus incentive to upgrade to TSW6 to play GWR 2.0 was why it was delayed. Why does that matter? There are plenty of routes in TSW that features rolling stock not present in the era that the route was set in. Yes I agree, I want a fresh GWR route.
Interesting stuff. Kind of confirms the predictions of the UK route being GWR though the question remains, where? I do hope that the denials from Liam about GWE 2.0 being part of TSW6 core continue to hold good, unless of course it has been extended into something longer - Paddington to Bristol perhaps? That TBH now seems more likely than Riviera line, DTG may want to give us a route on which the 802 runs on both the juice and diesel power. As the GW Main Line electrification is still stalled just east of Chippenham, that would be the perfect stretch to offer. As I remarked whimsically to the wife when we caught a train from Swindon to Temple Meads the other week, it turns into a bus at Chippenham! While the Cucumbers have grown on me, I do hope some liberties have been taken to pipe sound into the cabs as, sat in the end vehicles there is very little noise on either diesel or electric. However sat in one of the cars that has the diesel engines underneath they are quite loud and melodious. We also came back up the Stroud Valley on a 5 car the other day and climbing up to Sapperton was very noisy! Dutch route instead of German this time? Some of us predicted that, well anything around Amsterdam or Rotterdam will add more interest than the existing Zwolle route. Also hope the ICm performance has been nerfed and sound buffed along with the treacle inertia when coasting as it's a fairly bland train to drive. And if we get a new Dutch train let it be one of the older dognose or Sprinter type units.
TSW6 Release is officially slated for September (if it wasn't already obvious LOL) We just had confirmation on Classic FM with the reveal of the soundtrack theme (which is GORGEOUS)
The TSW6 theme is brilliant. They’ve almost blended the TSW4 and TSW5 themes to create something that works so well. well played Benjamin Symons!
Well if that was the case then it’s one of the biggest a-ss moves in history DTG knows how long we waited for it and then just to Delay it to the next version which added another 3 months to the wait or so presuming they made that decision at the same time as everything else all this for one damn train would be amazingly stupid
My hope is that it utilises the XC and TfW licenses. I do think Taunton to Cardiff would be (whilst long) a realistic choice, there's longer routes in TSW... But it would utilise all three licences and would utilise bi-mode operations. I think there's also an argument for a route based around Cheltenham/Gloucester.
Cross Border perhaps, or maybe a Dutch and German route? The DB train wasn't very clear from the image. (Though on closer inspection I do see it).
Despite the fact that the US loco was ready long before the announcement. I still think that MBTA was supposed to become the core route, and SB was supposed to go out in TSW4, but something went wrong.
Swindon to Bristol utilising both routes via Chippenham and Chipping Sodbury would be interesting although the Riviera Line is my preferred choice
While I would love to see GWE extended I absolutely don't want to see it brought into the modern era. That very particular time (pre-Crossrail construction, mid-electrification) is a rarity for a TSW route and it gives the route a very unique charm. I'd much rather it's something we haven't seen before, out west, perhaps with CrossCountry involved. I'd also be very happy to see the Netherlands/other Europe replace the US. The US' licensing situation leave it as a bit of a dead end and the Netherlands is a very good replacement for it.
The leaked key art for TSW5 had trains already in the game, bar the Vectron which was a train that really came with TSW5. The GWR 800/802 will absolutely be one of the trains in TSW6, because there's no point in them making one for keyart and never using it in the game. The Koploper and ICE T could be placeholders though.
One has to wonder that if the 8xx is the base unit for the roure as there looks to be like an extra item of rolling stock outside of the said UK route like there as last year? 'UK route' + 'New loco', (although its usuallh aa multiple unit not a loco!) I could be wrong.
You are saying that like I have direct access to everything. Maybe you should go to Chatham and break into their offices if you want it so badly.
I've read elsewhere that the GWR 800s have been upgraded in terms of power output and fuel tank size to match the 802s. Originally the 800s had 750hp per engine, it has now been increased to 940hp. I think that would make them pretty much identical. If we were to get the 802 I think it would be very likely we'd get the 800. I'm joking
Probably just a coincidence, but maybe yesterday or the day before Train Simulator Driver posted a photo of the interior of a GWR 80x saying "what train am I on?" Could he of been like, subtly hinting? (I also commented "Will we be driving this train in TSW6 in a couple of months ?", to which the response was "can't you already, it's the same as the Azuma?")
So DTG created a beta team and made every effort to prevent leaks, and it's that easy to obtain this information or image, if it's true, of course It's a joke! Looking back at the content, I'm curious to see what will be in the deluxe edition. From what we've seen, there will be very few new stuff, but most people will still rate the whole thing positively. But we'll see. This forum is full of moderators, community managers, and many other developers, and this post is still available. I don't think anyone is missing this topic, regardless of the fact that it's the weekend.
My honest guess is if it’s taken down at all, it will be in the morning.. after what happened with tsw5, I’d think they keep someone (or some people) on alert on forums and social media watching out.. especially after what happened today. On the other hand they could just leave it be and possibly play it off as a “fun hint” or something
Hang on a second https://www.artstation.com/artwork/QKkQgx This artstation leaked a few months ago, by just trains, however, if you were to look at the model, it cannot be for TSC, it is way too detailed. the location for this signal box is Totnes Riverside, near totnes station With all the talk and speculation about south Devon mainline, this seems awfully suspicious?
it gets even crazier. This model is commissioned to Just Trains, but why? Could they be helping with the development of this route? We know how capable they are at BR era content in TSW. Them, doing a COASTAL, GWR route, is nothing short of remarkable if true.
So we thinking Torquay/Paington to Exeter or around that area kind of route? Would utilise GWR and XC licences I guess. But wouldn't use the bi-mode capabilities of the 80X, unless they're saving it for another route?
The 800s did have their limiters raised so the engines make the same horsepower as the 802s, but I think they still have different fuel tanks. Even though people say the 80xs are all the same, there are actually quite a lot of differences between them.
Its very obvious when this picture is legit that we have no US route in the core game. For me it make sense. US stuff is not the best selling point for DTG. The ZWG was a succes addon with extremely good selling numbers. They would be dumb if they not add Holland in TSW6 if you asking me. But if you look at the trains in the keyart you have the ICMm, they will re-use this train for a new Dutch route and it make sense this train type you can spot them on many lines across the country. The ICE-T "Klimaschutzer" could be a repaint fix so nothing extreme. The class 802 is also a good option in combination with the new GWR licence. If you say GWR you say the class 802. But the ICE-T and ICMm are very likely replaced by other models from the specific country or they will add new trains for Germany and Holland by the Deluxe addition.
I mean the Dresden - Leipzig route (Riesa - Leipzig extension), not the timetable for Dresden - Riesa
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/QKkQgx The Ashburton signal box seems kinda vintage... Which can only mean one thing, right..? STEAM GWR 060 PANNIER!!!!1!
I don’t know if anyone has picked up on this, but a few weeks ago when I spawned in a class 80x in the game in free roam, the destination display would say ‘SWINDON’ rather than ‘NOT IN SERVICE’… could this perhaps be an indicator of something they are working on? Note: as I am away from my computer I do not know if this was patched in one of the more recent updates
Well yeah, but no, before anyone gets any ideas, that's how it looks today. IIRC its not actually on the mainline, but instead located on the heritage railway which is next to the mainline. Nobody knows for certain what it will be, but that is truly unlikely.
Given this is a semi official leak, I can’t see DTG justified in closing the thread. Besides with Monday being a Bank Holiday, they won’t be back in the office until Tuesday at which point Direct is only hours away. The possibility of steam traction is interesting though would surely be prominent on the splash art. Going back to something simpler like a tank engine certainly the way to go. US - well we will have to see. Maybe Focus or DTG bought out Run 8 as they have been very quiet of late, or doing a spin off game akin to Run 8 and Railroader, to serve that market.
