I've only seen it come up on Railforums and Reddit and both say they have the same tanks now. Although I've read the 802s have more resistor packs than the 800. What other differences are there may I ask?

I remember when the 800s and 802 were first built, the 800s were to be used on services to Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea etc, while the 802s were to be used on Exeter, Plymouth and Penzance services, although nowadays anything can turn up. On the heritage signal box, maybe the heritage line will be included? That would be amazing, and perhaps one of the steam locos could be used for main line railtours as well. It'd fit the "driving a steam loco up a hill", as the Exeter to Plymouth line is a very hilly route.
If we are getting something GWR, I’m hoping something like Reading To Exeter or Taunton because then we could route hop to the WSR at Taunton. Also because of power changeover at Newbury, and if they do the line via Westbury, some potential aggregate freight traffic and maybe some shunting in the massive yard they have could be nice for a bit of service variation. I get it might be too long for DTG standards, and might sound insane but it would seem interesting with the 800/802 if this becomes official relating to a GWR route it could seem interesting.
Maybe A possible King or Castle, I’d say a castle, with some maybe chocolate and cream dualbraked MK1’s? Maybe have some headboards like the ones in the railtour pack for WCL, although still be able to use the top lamp. Maybe you could choose between 5043, 7029 and 5029 for railtours.
What’s the chances that DTG planned this and purposefully made the key art to show up to build hype? like it just seems like a too much of a coincidence for the theme of tsw 6 to come out on the same day as the leaked key art they also mentioned giving hints in the countdown video which means they may have be open to idea of doing for early
I’ve just been watching a YT cab ride (recorded from the NR New Measurement HST last year) and if it is Exeter to Plymouth then we are in for a treat. If Paignton and the Ashburton Heritage Line are also included, then it could be DTG’s finest hour. The question would remain in addition to the 802, what other trains could be bundled or layered. Most local services looked to be in the hands of 165’s or 166’s so bearing in mind they are ancient in TSW should be included by default. Depending on the exact era, maybe the short form 2+4 HST Castle Class though hopefully with cab doors modded to stay open for the thrash. There are still 150/2’s about too, but presumably that would involve some sort of deal with Rivet to licence and retask from WCL and CCN. Which leaves Cross Country, with at least one train an hour in each direction I firmly see the Class 220/221 being the additional DLC. Pointless layering in the 170’s to represent their operations as they have never appeared in that neck of the woods.
Anyone else just thinking about the free base version this year? Unless this GWR route is pretty substantial, it’s a no from me. Not massively interested in a Cucumber going from A to B in 30 minutes with little traffic variety. The wait for a KX extension and a 225 continues…
PC almost 99.9% certain I will be grabbing the Deluxe (or whatever it’s called) @£55 pack. PS5 probably content myself with the free update though if the GWR route is something substantial might go for the Regional Edition. As regards driving the Cucumbers well ideally such a route as the Devon Banks would be better enjoyed as a Valenta HST or even a Class 50, but who knows they might come as part of a DLOGW2 type pack.
I'm going to get the starter pack. Would love a 225.... especially a 67+Mk4 rake, but doubt we will see that! I'm hoping this GWR route is substantial though, if there is one.
Exeter to Plymouth is typically around an hour on GWR or CrossCountry. It's definitely in the sweet spot for recent DTG routes - 50-60 miles in length and up to an hour or so of driving.
I think Dresden to Riesa is getting extended to Leipzig and there giving us the ICE T timetable or just updating the route ,theres been clues on the Frankfurt s bahn route hinting with the Letters D and L . I hope it is anyways
I see a lot of people complaining that this means there won’t be a US route in the core package, but I don’t see where this is coming from. If similarly to last year this leak is taken from a placeholder for the DELUXE EDITION artwork, then think back to how the US deluxe edition offering last year was Cajon Pass as a route, and similarly in tsw 4 we got Dresden-Reisa as deluxe edition content. Perhaps the ICM Koploper is a sign that the deluxe edition of the game will include Zwolle - Groningen as a substitute for US deluxe content. Which wouldn’t rule out the potential for a base game US route. That is unless of course it’s just there as a placeholder for a new Dutch route/loco, or god forbid a re-release of Zwolle.
I hope the 802 isn't a deluxe loco, as it operates most GWR services between Newton Abbot and Plymouth. Without it, there would be very little services on the route.
This box is on the South Devon Railway so could we see another heritage railway? as the SDR meets the national network at Totnes
remember they made the 390 the deluxe loco for TSW5 and that unit is the backbone to the WCML's express passenger workings
It’s a possibility or an entirely new GWR altogether. As long as GWR 2.0 is extended and not just remastered, then I’m okay with that.
I think its been stated by Liam (the developer working on the remaster) that GWE won't be getting an extension. Unless something has gone on behind the scenes, don't get your hopes up. A new GWR route is much more likely.
I'm hoping anything GWR wise would have a decent amount of mileage involved. 30 - 50 miles goes by in no time (about 30 minutes) with higher speed trains... 60 - 80 miles seems to be Goldie lock zone for me personally, and anything above that is top notch. WCMLOS is an example of that for me as one of my most played routes. I feel with these 30 minutes drives it feels like a demo game.
If it is Exeter to Plymouth and/or Paignton, I think it makes most sense for it to be set around 2019 to allow the upcoming HST livery pack to layer onto it. Would be a great route in terms of variety
If we are getting 802 than we definitely need the mileage to give us a good run. I really don’t want another 390 fiasco.

I suppose, but there was still a decent amount of services with the 350. (Come to think of it, most of the 390's services are missing entirely!). There are only 6 non-IET GWR services between Newton Abbot and Plymouth (2 158s, 3 HSTs and 1 158+150 combo).
The ICE TD would have no green stripe first they’re diesel second the livery with the green stripe exist since 2019 and they were retired until 2017
It does have a pantograph in the keyart. A possibility could be that this ICE T is the short 5 car version (BR 415) or a different series to the one we have in game. All enough diiferent from each other to make a new "DTG" dlc out of it.
Plus the Night Riviera in each direction (when it hasn't failed) but I doubt DTG's generosity would extend to a Class 57 and set of Mark Three Night Stock.
I know MSTS was a lot simpler and was far less sophisticated. But I don't half miss the MSTS days where most DLC like London South Coast, Great Eastern, London & SE etc... come with a a variety of rolling stock to fill out a route as standard. I feel as railway simulation has improved in overall quality, that we are lucky to get more then a single item of rolling stock to go with it, anything outside of that is usually extra payware DLC. I think JTs route was a slight exception to that rule and come with the 47/101/87. I know I'm living through rose tinted glasses and looking back at more simple times, but how impressed I'd be to have a route that included a variety of rolling stock that padded out a route from day one.
One of the best was the North Wales Coast V2 which came with a whole host of stock including several steam locos. Followed by the final iteration of Mid East Plus. Sadly I could never get it all to run or appear satisfactorily in Open Rails so about 18 months ago I just ditched it all though part of me regrets that now, as we will never see the like again.
I think the selling numbers are also the point here. The ZWG route was an absolute succes, the American content is not so popular and DTG is a company that needs money to survive so i can understand why they should make this choice. It does not mean US routes will not come anymore but the Dutch community and people they have interest in Dutch routes is higher. No offense to the US or what so ever in this reaction.

Would have a sneaky suspicion that there is a US route in progress, but whether that's a core route or not is uncertain. (though leaving out US as part of the core would feel pointless due to previous instalments, whether that's agreeable or not. And not just because of politics, that's just ridiculous to put in the forums.)
We don't know for sure until Tuesday about the US content... However, if it does turn out to be true that the US is not featured in this years edition of TSW, I'd imagine it boils down to US companies not being accessible for reference trips/not having permission to access said routes and rolling stock. I hope our American friends are included personally as they make up a fair amount of the players and quite a large part of the railway world. However, in equal measures I can see why DTG would possibly leave them out this year if there are routes that are inaccessible due to said companies not willing to participate.
With existing licenses they can create routes for at least another 10 years at this pace. Also, no one knows what licenses they have received in recent years. What was impossible 3 years ago may be possible tomorrow.
I dont think its not that Black and White in terms of getting entrance by railway companies. A licence is way more difficult than that. But yeah if the players are less interest in a country or not willing to pay their money for it its a very simple result what DTG need to accept. Its a lot of work to get all the work done and if they did not get enough money from it its not very likely they will further invest.
Might aswell pop the class 345 in there doing Hayes - Paddington runs then. Since it "doesn't matter". But of course not because that is just weird for 2017 Where can I find this

In regards to American content, Matt previously said that their next area of focus for American content is outside the California area. Obviously this implies future routes. Although this doesn't necessarily mean that an American route will be released with TSW6, I don't think there is enough evidence to imply that there won't be, the picture currently in question notwithstanding. Personally I'm not bothered about it either way, as long as whatever routes that do come are of a high standard of quality and offer an interesting experience. I'm much more interested in whatever new gameplay elements are introduced, and big fixes/optimization. That's why the free starter pack sounds like the way to go. Whatever is coming will be loaded with bugs anyway and will get deeply discounted in like a month. In this case I would say to expect the expected, which is more of the same.
^^ This. DTG have plenty of US content in their back catalog. And they've been using it here and there. The HSP46 proves that they can still produce good quality American dlc.
DTG can easily create another SoCal route with Amtrak Californa/Pacific Surfliner and Metrolink, but Matt stated that they wanted to give the players a break in the area (The last 3 US core routes were set in the area) So its not licensing that will hold the US route back. But people also apparently missed my post earlier.... Last years leak artwork also lacked a US loco as well, but they still appeared in the base game For all we know, the artwork stuff could be for the deluxe edition and DTG held the US content away from that screen. But we wont fully know anything till Tuesday.
