    the red Thomas wallet…

    it’s an exact match.

I think we could be looking at an isle of sodor route.

So we get an announcement about a clip, which is going to tell us precisely nothing until the big day itself. Consider me underwhelmed!

At the least drop a few teasers like you did a couple of years ago when the Training Centre was new, or as JT did with BPO.

Oh so the music is the only hint you can give us. How is that going to help us?

If this is the music it would be a pretty big hint.

Not trying to rude or dismissive or anything, but I think the music is probably the least interesting thing...

I hope it’s a good reveal and not an underwhelming rehash of TSW5

One has to wonder if the music is all part of the clues being dropped with one week until the announcement...

My questions will be where are the composers from themselves, and, does the theme music have any connection to a geographic location.

I have to ask: What does music have to do with train simulation?

I hope I can turn it off as before.

Its the same guy who did TSW4 and TSW5 music. He works for DTG so no hints from that at all.

And from what they say at the beginning of the thread the hints will start a few hour prior to the stream.

It increasingly looks like to me that the tag line 'expect the unexpected' is more likely the teaser for TWS6 than branding for just the announcement.

If it was about what they are announcing, what would make things unexpected? Having seen the broad expectations across the forums for the past few years (I'm a reader, not a poster!), I'd say there is nothing that is unexpected

If them saying 'we won't/can't/don't have any plans to' do 'that' makes it unexpected, I'm not sure it narrows it much either. Take your pick from more steam, to multiplayer to BR blue, to Australian routes etc.

I think sudden random events in timetable mode is likely a new feature of TSW6 as it might be something they can do without breaking the game. Could be good if you can switch it off or adjust the likelihood of them happening i.e not the same thing everytime.

As a parting shot, I think the most unexpected thing they ever did was Thomas. Make of that what you will I suppose.

My only wish is they beef up the despatcher, fed-up it can not differentiate between the different classes of train something that TSC can do.

No objection in general but I will be quite annoyed if this is a core route though……

The take a ticket section means routes after the core release.

I know they've said no to steam, but it's the railway 200 year after all. What if they've figured out a way to work it properly finally. Would certainly count for "expect the unexpected"

Got a feeling they are going to announce the island of sodor but not a core route but an add on that's coming a bit later, that's a bit of my take on expect the unexpected I think it would be a waste seeing as they have the licence

Hang on a minute, Alex was using a Thomas the Tank Engine wallet for last year's Dovetail Direct and no-one here picked up on the massive hint of what was to come?

Wow, we are really going to have to pay more attention this year!

Wow, that is a find! Can't believe no one realised that till now! :D I wonder if it was intentional, or just literally a spare wallet lying around. Probably they would've known, imagine it took a while in licence negotiations with Mattel

We're really pushing it calling it a "massive hint", obviously it was a hint in retrospect, but this is very much alternate reality game level hints, no reasonable person would take it as a hint unless told prior.

Even if someone did pick up on it how would anyone know it tied into anything? For all we know at the time it could've been just some inside gag, or someone's kid brought the Thomas wallet and they thought it was cute to use it as a prop.

Heck, the fact that it was flipped around and hiding the branding could've easily been taken to mean they don't have the rights to Thomas, supporting the idea they don't anything Thomas related coming out. Would be no different from how movies will often use regular everyday objects with labels hidden or pulled off all the time.

Again, not the case in retrospect, but this is all stuff that people would've bought up if anyone seriously tried to go down "the wallet is actually a hint" road.

I’m going to page DTG Alex - genuinely curious as to whether this was a massive coincidence, or a hint we all missed? I’m guessing the latter and that Matt was sat back reviewing the YouTube chat with a bag of popcorn laughing at us all for not seeing it :D

Seems you all missed the hint originally, I'm afraid ;) It was certainly intentional, something I thought would be a fitting teaser for housing the tickets. That being said, even if you did spot it, we couldn't have revealed the true intention before our reveal anyway, so it's just nice to know you've all spotted it after this time! :)

Honestly my main hope for TSW6 is:

A full timetable for Frankfurt S-Bahn on consoles.

This would be probably my favourite route but as a console player I haven't bought it. Hopefully the improvements, both already delivered and to come will mean this route can be opened up properly. I'd love to play it.

I actually think it’ll be the Thameslink Network: Bedford, King’s Lynn and Peterborough to Brighton, Sutton, East Grinstead, Littlehampton, Rainham, Orpington, Horsham and Severnoaks via St Pancras and Kings Cross

It's not strictly speaking a livestream, it will be a recorded video that's broadcast like a live video, as least, that's how it usually is. Looking back at last year there was a TSW5 roadmap and Q&A 2 days after the Dovetail Direct stream where you could ask further questions.
