I’d like another London Underground route, maybe a subsurface like like the metropolitan or the h&c line
One thing I hope is not the case is them adding multiplayer. It's something I have zero interest in and if they were to include it. It means they would have spent a lot of time on it, so then there would be less time spent on other things. I know Matt said it wasn't planned but expect the unexpected.
Final thought here and apologies if already mentioned. An overhauled route and timetable editor, user friendly bringing in the best features from the TSC, Trainz and MSTS editors (okay, the MSTS one didn’t have any redeeming features) along with a comprehensive user manual and a database of buildings, trees and other assets to get us started on our own projects.
I guessed that as soon as they announced 6. I really hope I’m right. If a new game came with 3 routes, no legacy content upgrades but new regular routes for it on a fresh start, I’d be very happy with that. They technically already did this when they released TSW and kept making routes for TSC so why not again?
I wasn’t meaning that TSW itself will be UE5 but rather I’m thinking one (or more) of their new games will be. If at any point they were changing TSW itself with a fresh start and no legacy content carrying over I’m not sure they would keep with the same naming convention. I don’t think the new titles will be a TSW replacement either.
Bearing in mind they did Fishing to test the water (no pun intended) with UE4 they might do a similar exercise for UE5, rather than betting the farm on their premium product.
Don’t know if anyone has said this already, but — my guess is that the “unexpected” feature is linking existing routes together to form larger networks.
Which I don’t personally feel a huge affinity for. Don’t use Discord myself and I have established that N3V having done a similar exercise for Trainz have stepped back from participation or even reading their user forums. I sincerely hope DTG are not planning a similar move.
After their joke "with Thomas the Tank Engine", I am very wary of their hype statements - I strongly advise the others to moderate yours expectations
Oh definitely, part of me is eager to see what’s coming but equally tempered by the fact this is DTG we are dealing with here, masters of talking everything up which then 6 months down the road becomes a “former” product.
Expect the unexpected? 3 Rivet free routes? I'm quietly curious today. Although I'm fully aware of what happened with Thomas so am trying to temper my expectations. I'm imagining something like the previously mentioned random events. I don't think DTG can afford another car crash like last year so part of em hopes they keep it simple. What I'd really love to see is a teaser or something from JT and some more GWR remaster!
I think working working toilets. All powered by Simugraph so we can finally see the toilet flushing in action
Unstoppable route Random grass field in England because they forgot they can put other places in the uk except England 1945 the end
And with working toilets there will be a new gamemode "fare evader" where you will play as a passenger without ticket.
I would genuinely like this game (not in TSW, but something a bit different). Starts out with buying a 16-17 discount on a 16-25 railcard and ends with you building your fraudulent e-ticketing and RPI-bribing empire to make more money than the TOC does.
The unexpected: "Are you sure you want to import and upgrade all of your TSC content to TSW 6 standard? This operation may take some time"
This is what I'm secretly hoping for one day, but considering current performance I believe there's next to no chance of it happening unless they've made some absolutely massive strides in terms of optimisation. You'd then need to figure out how to "connect" the track from two different routes and how to resolve any timetabling / pathing conflicts, not to mention auto-generate new paths covering multiple routes and how to separate routes from different time periods...
Unless they go down the msfs route with a map overlay terrain and bad quality AI generated objects. Now that would really be the unexpected!
The countdown part of this stream started with a very PA sounding announcement in both English and German. British English of course. Whether the lack of US English means anything remains to be seen! - purely speculation here.
That's because nobody expects the Spanish.... high speed route between Madrid and Barcelona! Ha! Bet you didn't expect THAT!
Even as someone who has never played tsc, only have seen images and a couple videos, I can tell that's tsc
My guess would be "events" causing delays during timetable mode. Something about a stuck wiper I heard about on that DTG countdown thing posted on Facebook.
It suddenly seems really obvious. The unexpected is random events in the Timetable. Doh, why didn't it hit me earlier?
