Hello all, I have some questions/request for clarity regarding profiles across both of the above versions. Set up: PS5 with TSW2 (PS4 version) with associated profile. Will be installing TSW5 (PS5 version), plan on going with a new profile. Clarity: Am I correct in thinking a PS4 game profile can not be transferred to a PS5 version of the game (no matter the TSW#)? Important - I want to keep playing TSW2, to work towards finishing up DLC content - trophies etc. So do not want conflicts with data across the two versions. Only planning to use new content in TSW5 for the most part. Questions, as can't see very clear answers anywhere: How does a new profile work in the context of PS4 and PS5 profiles been non compatible and so I need a new one for PS5 versions - can I use the same account details, name, login etc, or does everything need to be unique? As above, if not unique, is there anything to be aware of? Also as above, as I have seen mention of some profile cross-over, how is this tracked? Hoping some people who have this type of set up might see this and have actual experience answers. Although any feed back is welcome. Thanks
I did this with tsw5 ps4 to tsw5 ps5 and from what I know it doesn’t work so you will have to create a new profile or use the ps4 version of the game
I switched from PS4 to PS5 about two years ago. Thankfully, purchased DLCs will be downloadable on both. But other than that, the two platforms are indeed completely separate – the PS5 game version will not recognize your PS4 save and act like you booted up a TSW game for the very first time. You can log in using your existing Dovetail Live account, but that will only transfer mastery completion status (and unlocked mastery rewards) as well as subscribed creators club content. The actual game progress is not connected to the Dovetail Live account.
