Looks like Leipzig, maybe to Dresden as Engelsdorf can be seen, there is a mistake though, spotted it directly as it should be called "Leipzig Engelsdorf" on the sign, would be one of my favorite routes, we will see.
The voyager is cool to have. I hope it gets layered onto BCC (as seems to maybe be hinted at), it will bring so many UK routes to life & being able to give it a proper chance to stretch its legs is awesome
Seems to be the case but I have the strong feeling that the S-Bahn Talent 2 is not included, would be very unrealistic as the S3 goes up to Wurzen/Oschatz, also if the City-Tunnel (known from Rapid Transit) is not included, you can see the S3 in Leipzig Hbf and then again in Engelsdorf with the stops in between not accessible. Also up to Borsdorf (RB 110) and Paunsdorf (RB 113) you have the additonal Diesel trains, hopefully they are somehow implemented even if the train does not fit, other trains do not stop at Sellerhausen and Paunsdorf.
Good to see passenger improvements as a footnote of the roadmap, fingers crossed it actually does make a difference!
On the core features, random delays very welcome though just hope the signalling and regulating logic has been buffed to deal with it. Big disappointment for me is not a whisper on the Save Game. Sorry to tag DTG Matt in this one but TSW is getting huge - please don't tell us we still have to manage with just the one save slot, no quicksave function and the ongoing silliness of objective data vanishing when saving and loading a chained run.
Looking forward to some Eastern Counties content in TSW - nope. TSW2020- no. TSW 2- no again. TSW 3 - not here either. TSW 4 - still no. TSW 5 - maybe next year? TSW6 - no again. TSW7? Dear DTG - If you've ever wondered what that coastline is in the distance across the Thames from your office. Just go 20 mins up the A2, north through the tunnel and you'll find Essex then Suffolk and Norfolk too. No passport needed, you'll love it so much you'll finally decide to make a route in the area. Maybe ATS will deliver but with so much new traction needed it'll be a tall order for them on their own.
Gotta give it to them, I didn't expect the GWE remaster (promised for TSW5) to be pushed back to a non-determined timeframe. That was rather unexpected, I thought it would be released immediately. I also didn't expect the Tadami line to stay in the "no release date" section of the roadmap. I get the "better delayed than bad" mindset, I firmly subscribe to it as well. Just maybe don't hype routes up if they're multiple years out from release?
Did i miss something i dont recall them mentioning Fife 158 timetable or gwe remaster and mildmay extension
Trying to get my reaction in before i forget everything i watched lol Train faults seemed very likely since we had them already in the Expert 101 but still nice Random TSRs and signal delays is great as long as the dispatcher holds up. Platform and train announcements as a core feature is huge for me and i really didn't expect it tbh after so many years of, "yeah we'd like to" The biggest line for me was, "the most stable version of TSW ever"- if they can deliver on that promise while bringing these new features i'll be very happy.
Really hoping that something about these add-ons will be in the roadmap, I thought at least that a release date for the GWE remaster would be included, saying it will come out during TSW6 doesn't really say anything for me. TSW6 will be around for another year so potential to be waiting for up to a year for this remaster. Hoping for some screenshots at least for these 3 things.
Random events and train faults - Great but will it be added to any previous content? The GWR route - Got to admit, I'm looking forward to it. It's not my preferred region but it's the best non-ER route I could have hoped for. Just Trains - Yawn. If it had to be LMR again, surely there's a far more interesting section of the WCML route. What is it with Preston? US routes - Not for me. German route - Not for me. Czech route - No again. Portugal route - Maybe, would have preferred the Lisbon to Caiscai coastal route though, it's stunning. WCML - Birmingham to Crewe - If it includes the Stoke spur it'll be quite good, it must surely include 390 services for those who have it. Glad it wasn't North Wales Coastal in the end. Overall 6/10 - 3 for the random events and train faults, 3 for the GWR route.
Well well, if that GWR route isn’t at least part built by Rivet I’ll be stunned. Evidenced by the ballast and the viaduct which looks very much like an asset I’ve seen them use before! Like most I’m disappointed the remaster of the GWE wasn’t announced and equally disappointed no improvement or extension to the Mildmay mentioned. For me on PS5 that route is pretty unplayable. Looking forward to more WCML though, especially Birmingham to Crewe!
Also, looking forward to the community adding short-set HSTs and 165s to the Riviera Route Timetable. Weird that the latter weren't included as they're common round those parts now and with so little effort it would have added to the variety. I'm assuming the Castle sets will be replaced by 150s in the Timetable which will be fun over those gradients. There's a reason GWR introduced more powerful trains for those services. I get that they would have required a modification to the coaches and they're being replaced but.....variety, HSTs, what's not to love about them.
The new core improvements annouced tonight are only going to apply to the new TSW6 routes going forward, unless DTG say otherwise (Thanks to Tin Tin for that info)
Damp squib for me too. Relatively short and scenically uninteresting section. I know as discussed previously the service pattern in the 80’s on the WCML makes chunks of the route difficult, but you can manipulate the timetable accordingly. Should have gone to Stafford or Rugby. I would rather they had turned their attention to the North Wales Coast or the Barrow Line with a bit of the Cumbrian Coast thrown in.
I think they’ve only pointed out what’s available via the standard or deluxe editions - they’ll surely announce this as the ‘more details soon’ type article they usually do. They layered the HST’s and 166’s on Cardiff, so why wouldn’t they do it again here?
I hope you're right. They do listen to the community feedback on announcements so fingers crossed. I'm going to take the flowers for random events, must have first suggested it about 6 years ago.
Am I right in saying that every SINGLE new core route is the same old boring A-B affair, except this time with locos that are mostly identical to the ones already released? Another Class 80x? WOW. Another Talent 2? WOW, how innovative. AND it's got Dostos, now those are proper rare! All the interesting stuff seems to be in the "not on launch" bin and, as I already pointed out, the Japanese route and the GWR remaster got delayed to an undetermined date yet again. Now to what's really grinding my gears: the Deluxe Edition locos might be the worst ones yet: the ALP-46— sorry, the ALP-45, and the BR363/365— sorry, the BR294. Very distinct, can't wait to drive them to get all the new and different experiences! What's worse, the Class 220 is very clearly yet another cynical attempt to get people to buy the Deluxe Edition, exactly as the Pendolino was supposed to do with TSW5. Without it, the new British line just has the Class 150, reused from God knows how many years ago at this point, and the Class 802. By the way, does anyone harbor any illusions that it won't just be the Class 801, haphazardly and incorrectly retouched? As for the new core features (which will doubtlessly not work as intended for months — or ever, see: the Conductor mode), the only actually good one is the announcements — something that should've been in the game for years now. Good job catching up. The random faults, while sounding fun, will certainly get turbo-annoying after like an hour, or once you miss a Platinum and have to replay the service because a lever got stuck or something.
If it's including Fiddlers Ferry then that changes it for me lots of running round at Latchford and reversing at Walton old Junction. Very busy also Crewe to Weaver.
I have also asked for it many times. Still can't believe many didnt see the clue in the advert for the stream today.
More realistic Announcements was amazing to hear. Never thought they would do it… That’s amazing. Hopefully over time they implement this into older routes too.
Except random events that will apply to the back catalogue. Random events are designed to work with the full back catalogue of compatible content. There are two main Random Events to consider: Signal Delays - Occasionally signals will take longer to transition from a red / danger. Temporary Speed Restrictions - These will show up randomly at various lower speeds, and display on the track monitor. These events will reduce the speed limit and place in-world temporary speed restriction boards as appropriate in the right places. Random Events can be toggled in the settings. Both types of Random Events will be retroactively applied to all back catalogue routes, for players upgrading to Train Sim World 6.
Got to admit. This was a pretty good reveal this year. Some great routes coming up. My only dislike was no Berlin…. Better luck for TSW7 haha.
Yes, the objective data vanishing, this is high on my list as well. I thought Matt had suggested that this was fixed? In any case, if TSW6 runs as well as DTG says it will, then objective data will be on my survey for the next improvement.
Just so long as it's period correct and we don't get on train announcements on TVL< NTP or the steam routes!
"Welcome to this LMS service to Liverpool Lime Street, please ensure your ticket is valid before travel. If you're working class, 3rd class is to the rear of the train. Smoking is permitted throughout this train."
Honestly, given how often they walk right along the platform edge or even onto the tracks, I'm not sure anything scares them tbh
Well done to everyone who took a guess, some of you did manage to guess the following correctly: New country (after launch) Random events / stuck wipers Riviera Class 802 cucumber Station announcements Voyager Runners up Operational toilets Steam Bug fixes Have I missed anything?
TSC must require less resources and optimization than TSW, just looking at the quality between the two, the route lengths and the required configurations
TSC can be very fickle though and is now in (low) maintenance mode from DTG. High detailed routes can CTD on you, load into a saved game and find yourself at the location but minus your train. Out of memory crashes etc. etc.
True, but at least I'm not running at 5FPS from the moment that Central Manchester begins to render until I get back past Longsight
