It's not. It comes with the ČD class 843, a Czech railcar from the 90s.

Oh, I wouldn't say that. The core content is a bit weaker, yes (the others getting a new route and two locos each while the Germans get one remade and expanded existing route and one loco).
But the "new" route expands upon one of the most beloved existing ones, and the BR 294 has been one of the most requested German locos for a while now. I see great value in it, since it could layer into literally any existing German route, greatly enriching the freight and shunting part on those.
The further outlook is not too shabby either. Stuttgart-Heilbronn could turn out to be a very interesting route with new features (do they dare recreating the Heilbronn tram-train system?). The 140 is another much requested loco and could layer into many, many existing routes as well. The Wittenberge cab wasn't that much requested, but could see widespread use too and sure adds some variety. It can also be used in conjunction with the much beloved Dosto's ;)
Add to this the Expert 145 and Maik's upcoming 420... I think we're off to a good start :)

Saw that too, a bit disappointing. I'm no expert but I think at least the passenger ambience could have been implemented on older trains without too much hassle. It will be a bit odd if one train's passengers are chatty, and the next ones aren't.
Same goes for the announcements. At least the newer routes (regarding German content, the Frankfurt area ones and perhaps Ludwigsbahn) could have gotten the treatment, to keep them up to date.
Honestly, of all the new features, the "random events" one was the one I least expected to be added retroactively to existing routes :o

    Oh that is hellfire!

However I do hope their 750 will use the older sounds prior to the exhaust being fitted with more silencing. In their original guise the 749’s and 750’s sound uncannily like the old BR Type 2 Sulzer Classes 24 - 27.

It would be nice if we could now have an extension from Milton Keynes through to Birmingham. As with the new Birmingham to Crewe and Just Trains Crewe to Preston, we could soon drive from London to Carlisle if the extension at Milton Keynes was completed.

Your not the only one that feel excited, i am also excited as well, especially hearing we are finally going to get the long awaited ask by the us community side a new metro north route, which turns out to be the stamford line. It was between the Hudson Line or the Stamford Line, which they ended up choosing the stamford line. I believe they say they are going to post a new article regarding take a ticket route map that showcase every unannouced route and train. I really do hope that they will add more detail regarding the stamford line. ANYWAY SO EXCITED. :D:D:D:D:D;)

DTG Matt DTG JD: Since the team are going to do the new stamford line, they should really look into improving the grand central terminal ESPECIALLY Because for the previous interation on the Harlem Line, That Grand Central Terminal Does not LOOK Like how its protray in the real world, especially the Lighting of it was awful. Please make this happen.

I was very pleasantly surprised for this years release. Lots of really neat & interesting (and tbh quite unexpected!) stuff on the way. The 3 core routes all look really good.

I'm hangin' for the Morristown Line for sure. I'm all for some good US content and this is no exception. On RailGuide it says that the trackage up toward Dover is Norfolk Southern? Is that correct, we need more NS stuff as it seems to be on limited time.

Riesa-Dresden was interesting, it's already a great route and now there is even more things to do. Does this make the old map obsolete or is it still a stand-alone DLC?

The Riviera line I'm actually super buzzing about! Is it the same 1 as on TSC which I've watched a few times. Even that one looks good and the layers look very busy on the upcoming DLC.

But the big surprise for me was the new countries that are being introduced, how wild is that!! I don't even really know where they are let alone anything about the train environment etc. Craziness....

The new features if implemented properly should be pretty cool too, gives it more immersive and real world situations other than just ding A-B and back etc.

To be fair overall I think it's the best roadmap/reveal whatever that I've seen so far in the series. If there are trains I'll drive them, I'm not fussy and easily pleased lol.

So long as the DLCs look cohesive and run nicely I'm all good so I'm ready for the next journey.

The issue is that any announcements are a train by train route my route basis so it's a huge amount of work just for 1 train. It's like the new lighting

100% agree this is desperately needed and not as some route hopping nonsense an actual extension. If they can double the distance of a German route they can double the distance of a UK route

I used this line a lot, in the late 90s albeit mainly from Summit or Berkeley Heights into NYC, and I don't recall ever seeing a freight.

Looking at an overview of Morristown, it doesn't seem like the line would see any freight as a whole.

The only 2 freight yards that may even be modeled, are CSX's South Kerney Yard, and NS's Croxton Yard. And I doubt any freight runs up much if anywhere on this line.

Haven’t really found a main discussion thread (being as late as I am), so I’ll post my thoughts here.

Don’t think any of the past releases have had me this excited, if I’m being honest.
    • Leipzig - Dresden could be fantastic. Dresden is great as is, so I’m hoping for a route that is just that, but more of it.
    • The 294 was inevitable and I’m glad she’s finally here. As much as I personally like the V60, it was really starting to border on immersion breaking how she did all of the 294’s jobs on all routes. It’s enough to sell me on the Deluxe edition, probably.
    • The real star for me is of course the 140. I’m not going to lie - any other announcement pales in comparison to the announcement of the 140 for me. It’ll probably end up only being the traffic red one, but hopefully TSG et al. will pick it up and tune it for LFR and other vintage routes as well.
    • The Expert 145 is not unexpected. I’m definitely looking forward to having an Expert freight loco and I’m glad it’s not an ultra modern one.
    • The new JT route has me excited as well, of course. Always love some more vintage tap changer action.
I still need to check out the core UK and US routes. Just having skimmed everything, these are my takeaways so far.

Need to look up the 140, 145 and 294 for video footage tosee what they are like IRL.
I am looking forward to Dresden Leipzig as its possibly my favoutie German route along with Rurh Sieg Nord and Main Spessart Bahn.

    BR 140- AT LAST! :love::love::love:

The absolutely essential loco for the Bundesbahn era; the go everywhere, do everything traction that filled almost every role. Not having it is like trying to do a US route without an SD40. This is the engine which ought to be pulling freight on Linke Rheinstrecke, not the 110 (an express passenger engine which was only reduced to freight services in extremis). I hope the substitution is enabled.

(The 1950s Einheitselektrolok (standard electric locomotive) program generated four related designs with as much parts commonality as possible: the E 10 for express passenger, the E 40 for freight, the E 41 for local passenger and the E 50 for heavy freight. Of the four, the 40 proved by far the most versatile, and it remained in service for sixty years)
