The Hell?

Why on earth are they not adding the second best part of the route being the Heritage lines, like come on man this route was nearly good but this really throws me off

 

while it would have been nice, the route length in itself is pushing it, so they had to make some sacrifices

 

The heritage lines are in no way part of the route. What lead you to think they'd be included? If the route had included two separate heritage railways that would have been front-and-centre of their advertising of it, but it wasn't. I think it's a nice touch that there are some AI train movements, and a few playable shunts (which I didn't expect).

For me, a mainline with a couple of heritage railways tacked on would have been a bit odd. There aren't any regular through trains between the railways and the mainline, so it would just have been 3 completely separate railways thrown together in one route. I'm not sure why they'd do that.

 

Nah they just despise the old, like they gave up both sides ,the main Company anyways,

like seriously if they can do all this other interesting stuff on other routes ,it does make me question more

 

Why even mention them if they not included?

I get it would be slightly awkward for some but **seriously** we need an actual new Heritage railway in game!, like we still only have the west Somerset railway and this would have be a great opportunity since depending on the person this route doesn’t have much else of interest,

but that’s probably just me hating anything that is apart of 800 family, I would do unspeakable things to actually get a new Heritage railway in game without having to wait multiple years or so aka the community guy’s one

I'd rather an actual steam route set in the past, as heritage lines are limited to 25mph

Im betting there will be a future expansion of the heritage line.

Im also hoping some 3rd party dev realised what a cash cow steam could be and start releasing more steam engines.
Im looking at you Just Trains.

 

Yeah, or the people that were working on the steam tank engine in tsw2/3

 

Good luck Just Trains has already said in the past they will not work with Steam in its current condition and the only way to fix it is by tweaking Simulgraph.

And DTG is not about to let a 3rd party play with their main program they have trademarked.

 

I do understand what you're saying but i think the ai and shunting services is more than i expected. The Exmouth branch would've made more sense to also include but I'm just glad we're finally getting the riveria line generally.
