Hi, i newbie Q: I there a way to reduce TS 2020 loading times? Especially the long lasting advertising splash screen annoys me when you are restarting something during gameplay. It's slightly less compared to TWS 2020, but also there.
Not really - it is while it finds and loads the necessary files. Only a faster disc or CPU would improve the situation, and then not significantly. Windows keeps a record of where files are located for each session. So, if you start your PC up but don't want to play the game straight away, loading it in the background of whatever you are doing and closing it down again will make it load notciable faster when you loas TS again. Provided you haven't shut your PC down in between, of course.
The most effective way to reduce loading times would be to have the game installed on a fast SSD. Preferably an M.2 based one as these can be significantly faster than SATA ones.
Contrary-wise, I find that TSW 2020 loads significantly faster than previous builds -- of course, those two pre-show butt-in sequences extended the load-in time until I learned that they can be dismissed immediately by a keystroke or mouse click. Just thought I'd add this tidbit to the discussion.
