Route Vienna Suburban Network S45 + S80 + S40 To Tulln

    There are so many options but I have decided to focus on the more doable options in terms of length, rolling stock and nice scenery, so lets get into it

    S45 Wien Hutteldorf to Wien Handelskai - around 15 km
    One of the remaining parts of former Stadtbahn and pretty much a substitution for a subway for the city parts it crosses (Hernals will be getting U5 line but thats still years away atm). It has the frequency of a subway, mostly every 10mins. Lets you see many nice parts of the city without paying anything outside Kernzone ticket. Also is the busiest line in Vienna (as far as I know) - most of the time it is PACKED.

    We already have this one in the game, but it would rock if they finally brought the now iconic CityJet livery

    S80 Wien Hutteldorf to Wien Aspern Nord - around 27 km
    Very important line connecting several suburbs and outer parts with what I call "belt" between Meidling and Hauptbahnhof. The city itself puts a lot of emphasis on the upgrading of this corridor in the future (removal of level crossings, repairs and upgrades for improving frequency, speeds and such). Atm the intervals are around 20-30mins. I wont really go into details about rolling stock, as it is pretty much the same as on S45, with occasional Siemens Desiro ML 4744/4746 serving the line. Scenery is mostly urban stuff, but there is a very cool "triangle" near Speising, where trains from Hutteldorf (from west) and Westbahnhof (from east) can cross above Wiental and metro and all).

    S40 Wien Franz Josefs Bahnhof to Tulln an der Donau - around 33 km
    A purely regional/commuter line serving areas around Danube, plus some of northern Austria, with some services going all the way to Czech Republic (České Velenice and even Prague). S40 serves Tulln and St. Polten, but the termini can vary (sometimes it only goes to Klosterneuburg, sometimes to St. Andra - Wordern or Tulln-Stadt, Tulln is one of possible termini). Meets S45 at Wien Heiligenstadt.
    Rolling stock is, again, the same as in previous cases, as this route is pretty slow, with speeds between 30 and 80 kph, mostly.

    that would be awesome, as you could then do REX4 and REX41, which skip some smaller stations along the way (and go to Krems, Gmund, České Velenice and like 1 or 2 even to Prague). 1144 can go up to 160 kph, but the dostos/cab car are "only" capable of 140 kph. Still, very nice and comfy.

    So this corridor isnt very fast, but has lots of traffic and the highlight is the scenery - Danube on one side and forests/small hills on the other, so plenty to look at while cruising by :)

    As DTG seems to be more inclined towards slower and more scenic routes atm (dunno, I just got that impression), this combination of routes could be nice. Hutteldorf isnt too big, tho the web between Hutteldorf and Westbahnhof can be quite sth, even if they didnt do it all the way there (you still need some of it so trains can go north and south). For freight they would have to do Westbahnhof, so dunno.

    Hutteldorf is quite nice a hub, rolling stock isnt too fancy but fun. As a first dip into the huge web of rails that is Vienna, this wouldnt be too high in the sky, tho the assets could be challenging (also, U2 subway crosses over the S80 in two places and S45 meets U4, U3 and U6 along its way).

    Vienna is a railfan's paradise, so this is yet another of my suggestions that pick sth out of Nahverkehr Ostregion. Just do Vienna, pls, DTG :D
